Abstract

Social media has become a primary platform for Generation Z to access various types of information, including health education. This study aims to analyze the impact of health education content on social media on behavioral changes towards a healthy lifestyle among Generation Z. The research employs a quantitative approach through a survey involving 53 respondents aged 17-22 years. The findings indicate that health education content on social media effectively raises awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including balanced nutrition, sufficient physical activity, stress management, and mental health awareness. Additionally, influencers and online communities play a significant role in shaping sustainable healthy habits. However, this study also highlights the challenge of misinformation and hoaxes, which can affect understanding and decision-making regarding health. Therefore, improving media literacy is crucial for Generation Z to differentiate between credible and unreliable information. Furthermore, the involvement of healthcare professionals in producing educational content is essential to ensure accuracy. Thus, social media can be optimized as a more effective, reliable, and impactful health education platform for Generation Z.

Abstract

This study examines the screw withdrawal strength in Acacia Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) using screws of 5 mm diameter. CLT, typically made from softwoods, is gaining interest with hardwoods like Acacia for enhanced structural performance. The study evaluated screw withdrawal resistance across face, edge, and end grain orientations, following EN 1382 standards. The results showed that the face grain orientation exhibited the highest average withdrawal strength of 6.7 kN with a specific strength of 10.6 N/mm², while the edge grain had 6.5 kN and 10.3 N/mm². The end grain had the lowest strength with an average of 4.0 kN and 6.3 N/mm². Additionally, higher wood density was found to increase withdrawal strength, with heavier samples showing greater performance. These findings emphasize Acacia’s potential for structurally optimized CLT applications.

Abstract

Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pulmonary tuberculosis attacks the immune system. Therefore, to treat or prevent Mycobacterium tuberculosis from reoccurring, regular medication is required for six months. Untreated pulmonary TB can cause permanent lung damage and decreased respiratory function. Triggers for pulmonary TB include close contact with active patients, a weakened immune system, and smoking. Compliance with pulmonary TB patients using the pill count method is important to ensure medication is taken according to the recommended dosage and duration. Purpose: To analyze the compliance of pulmonary TB patients using the pill count method. Method: This study used a descriptive analytical design with a quantitative approach. Data collection tools used a questionnaire by directly interviewing respondents visiting the TB clinic. This study was conducted at Way Kandis, Bandar Lampung, from July 4-24, 2024. The population and sample size for this study were 49 respondents. The sample was drawn using a purposive sampling technique, and the data were analyzed using univariate analysis. Results: The majority of respondents were in the 46–60 age group (38.8%), male (55.1%), had a high school education (42.9%), and most were private sector employees (40.8%). Most respondents had suffered from pulmonary TB for ≥ 7 years (65.3%) and had a compliance rate (87.8%). Conclusion: Most respondents were categorized as compliant with treatment. The pill count method is effective in assessing the level of compliance of pulmonary TB patients. Continuous efforts in the form of routine monitoring can support the success of pulmonary TB therapy.   Keywords: Medication Compliance; Pill Count Method; Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
