Abstract

Corn cob waste continues to increase every year. The corn cobs become waste, which is seen as having no significant economic value by the people of Titiwangi Village, so they are only used as animal feed. Efforts are being made to overcome this problem through the processing of corncob waste into briquettes. Briquettes are an alternative energy source produced from carbon-containing materials by heating them at high temperatures. The purpose of utilizing corncob waste is to reduce waste and help the economy of the people of Titiwangi Village. The implementation method used is training in making briquettes from corn cobs. The output achieved is corncob briquettes. The advantages of the resulting briquettes are that they save energy, are environmentally friendly, do not smell, do not cause new waste, and have a distinctive natural aroma.

Abstract

Vanilla is a plantation crop commodity that has high economic value. As one of the world's vanilla-producing countries, Indonesia's vanilla production must maintain supply for the domestic consumption market and the world export market. The irony is while the demand for foreign markets is increasing, domestic demand for vanilla has just been covered. The continuity of vanilla supply in meeting the needs of domestic and foreign markets is primarily determined by the performance of the vanilla agribusiness itself. Some of the problems in the agribusiness system include the uneven use of superior seeds, weak cultivation technology adoption, and weak institutional innovation. This study aims to determine the performance of vanilla agribusiness in Sumedang Regency. The method used is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Data was collected using a survey method through interviews and questionnaires conducted from November to December 2022 in Cimalaka District and Surian District, Sumedang Regency, with a sample determined using proportional stratified random sampling of 67 farmers. The results showed that the performance of the input supply, cultivation, marketing and support subsystems was in a suitable category, with the performance of the marketing subsystem having the highest performance and the cultivation subsystem having the lowest performance. Meanwhile, the harvest and postharvest subsystems performed exceptionally well. The performance of the vanilla agribusiness system can be increased by improving each subsystem. To improve the performance of vanilla agribusiness, it is necessary to strengthen the performance of each subsystem, especially in the cultivation and harvest and postharvest subsystems.

Abstract

Bencana Tsunami merupakan salah satu bencana alam yang sangat berbahaya dan sering terjadi di Indonesia. Khususnya pada daerah Pesisir Selatan Kabupaten Pangandaran yang memiliki riwayat tsunami dengan ketinggian run up tsunami mencapai 15,7 meter pada tahun 2006 berdasarkan data BPBD Kabupaten Pangandaran. Menurut BMKG tsunami yang terjadi tersebut menelan korban jiwa sebanyak 664 orang. Sebagai upaya mitigasi bencana pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisa tingkat bahaya tsunami dan penentuan lokasi Tempat Evakuasi Sementara (TES) pada Wilayah Pesisir Selatan Kabupaten Pangandaran. Analisa tingkat bahaya dilakukan berdasarkan data kelerengan, koefisien kekasaran, ketinggian run up tsunami, dan garis pantai. Kemudian dari hasil analisa tingkat bahaya tersebut digunakan untuk menentukan lokasi TES menggunakan metode Network Analyst. Dasar pembuatan sebaran lokasi TES yaitu dengan menggunakan analisa Service Area berdasarkan lokasi sebaran TES yang telah ada sebelumnya dari BPBD Kabupaten Pangandaran. Dari analisa tersebut akan diidentifikasi sebaran lokasi TES dan cakupan area. Apabila cakupan Service Area sebaran lokasi TES dari BPBD Kabupaten Pangandaran belum mencakup keseluruhan wilayah terdampak tsunami, maka dilakukan penambahan titik lokasi TES. Penelitian ini menghasilkan 55 titik lokasi TES yang dapat digunakan sebagai tempat evakuasi dengan waktu tempuh maksimal 22 menit

Abstract

Sanitation is an effort to prevent disease and environmental risk factors that become a chain of disease transmission. Ship sanitation applies to all types of ships both passenger ships and goods from within and outside the country. The purpose of the study was to analyze the factors related to the sanitary conditions of passenger ships at the Port of Tanjung Perak Surabaya, in 2019. The type of this research is correlational analytic with cross sectional design. The population is all passenger ships that dock at the port of Tanjung Perak Surabaya, with a total sample of 49 samples. The sampling method is by questionnaire and direct interview with respondents. Statistical tests using the Chi-Square Test. The results showed the average passenger ship leaning at the Port of Tanjung Perak Surabaya had a low risk sanitation level of 83.67% and a high level of risk of 16.33%. The relationship between the skipper's leadership style (pvalue = 0,0001), knowledge (pvalue 0.047), leaning time (pvalue = 0,0001), maintenance funds (pvalue = 0,0001), facilities and infrastructure (pvalue = 0,0001) with the level of health risks of the ship. From the results of the study it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the sanitary conditions of the ship and the leadership style of the skipper, the level of knowledge of the crew, the time of the ship berth, maintenance funds, facilities and infrastructure. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the sanitary conditions of the ship and the leadership style of the skipper, the level of knowledge of the crew, the time the ship rests, maintenance funds, facilities and infrastructure. Passenger ships are expected to have good Standard Operating Procedures and are applied in maintaining vessel cleanliness.
