Abstract

This article examines the problem of majoring Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Sharia in Islamic Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia. There is an ambiguity of the essence of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Sharia whose Siyasah (simply translated into Constitutional Law) as a major. The core subjects of constitutional law are legal studies on basic law aka constitution. Meanwhile, the essence of siyasah is politics. Does this ambiguity occur only in the nomenclature or also in its implementation as well that include the department’s vision, mission, curriculum, competency, and profile of graduates? This study was a library research which employs a qualitative data analysis towards the so-called siyasa department’s vision and mission documents, curriculum documents, textbooks assigned, teaching materials, research journals, and websites across Islamic Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia. It found that there has been an ambiguity in some Departments of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Sharia both in the Department nomenclature and in its implementation, such as vision, curriculum, student final assignments, student competency, and profile of graduates. This ambiguity lies in which specialization aims at by the major: law in general, politics, or constitution? On the one hand, the objective of the department is to train the students with legal studies focusing on Islamic Constitutional Law (Qanun Dusturi al-Islamy). On the other hand, the courses on politics are prominent too while there is not enough subjects on the Islamic Constitutional Law. It thus suggests the siyasa Department management across the Faculty of Sharia in Indonesia reorient their vision and mission and match them with their curriculum and programs.Keywords: Ambiguity, constitutional law, Faculty of Sharia

Abstract

Mathematical tasks have an essential role in the mathematics learning process. Well-designed mathematical tasks will provide a learning opportunity for students to develop their mathematical ideas. The ability of pre-service mathematics teachers to design mathematical tasks during their academic studies significantly influences how they teach in actual learning. One of the ways to investigate pre-service mathematics teachers' ability to design tasks is by analyzing the tasks in the lesson plans they proposed. This study aims to scrutinize the level of cognitive demand for mathematics tasks designed by pre-service mathematics teachers in their lesson plans to get a thorough understanding of their ability to design tasks. This descriptive qualitative research analyzed mathematical tasks in 25 lesson plans proposed by pre-service mathematics teachers using the framework developed by Stein and Smith (1998). The results of this study show that most pre-service teachers designed tasks with a lower cognitive demand classification with types of memorization and procedures without connections. The mathematical tasks designed by pre-service mathematics teachers also have yet to lead to argumentation and the development of mathematical ideas through exploration or doing mathematics. Thus, based on the findings in this study, designing mathematics tasks with the potential to promote students' mathematical understanding remains a challenge for pre-service mathematics teachers. This article discusses and presents the implications of research results and recommendations for designing mathematical tasks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pengembangan kurikulum merupakan salah satu komponen yang memiliki peran penting dalam sistem pendidikan, sebab dalam kurikulum bukan hanya dirumuskan tentang tujuan yang harus dicapai sehingga memperjelas arah pendidikan, akan tetapi juga memberikan pemahaman tentang pengalaman belajar yang harus dimiliki setiap siswa. Sehingga kurikulum ini memberi peran penting untuk meningkatkan kemampuan padagogik guru dalam mengelola kelas untuk kelancaran proses belajar mengajar. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis jenis deskriptif, peneliti ingin memperoleh databyang lebih detail dan luas (rich data) dan mendalam mengenai kompetensi pedagogik guru. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah dengan melakukan wawancara dan melakukan observasi. Hasil penelitiannya menunjukkan (1) Guru Matematika telah mampu mengidentifikasi berbagai kamampuan dan krakteristik peserta didik; (2) Guru Matematika telah mampu mengembangkan Kurikulum 2013 dengan selalu mempersiapkan RPP dan Silabus pembelajaran; (3) Guru Matematika mampu menguasai materi pembelajaran yang disampaikan kepada peserta didik; (4) Guru Matematika mampu memberikan didikan kepada siswa dengan memberikan motivasi kepada siswa; (5) Guru Matematika mampu mengembangkan potensi peserta didik dengan memberikan ruang terbuka kepada peserta didik untuk berkomunikasi baik di dalam kelas maupun diluar kelas. (6) Guru matematika mampu untuk melakukan penilaian sesuai dengan pedoman kurikulum 2013 yang berlaku

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of emotional intelligence on the mathematics learning outcomes of MTs students. NW Pagutan. This type of research is ex-post facto with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were seventh grade students at MTs. NW Pagutan. The data collection method used in this research is in the form of questionnaires and documentation. The results obtained in this study are the magnitude of F count is 29,020. Meanwhile, the value of is at a significance level of 5% with N=19, which is 4.45. Then with a significance/probability level of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that it is significant, so H_a is accepted and H_o is rejected. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research is that there is an influence of emotional intelligence on the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh grade students of MTs NW Pagutan. The suggestions put forward in this study are that teachers are expected to be more familiar with the emotional conditions of students, so that teachers can choose appropriate learning methods or models so that they can help students achieve maximum learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the open-ended learning approach on students' mathematical communication skills. This research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental) with a quantitative approach. This research took place at MTsN 2 West Sumbawa. The population in this study were students of class VII MTS. The research sample was 32 students, of which 16 students were used as participants in the experimental class and 16 students as participants in the control class. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire. The results showed that there was an effect of the open-ended learning approach on students' mathematical communication skills. With a significant level of a = 0.05; obtained ttable = 2.042 and tcount = 3,672. It is concluded that tcount > ttable then Ho is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the open-ended learning approach on mathematical communication skills between students who are taught using an open-ended approach compared to the conventional approach.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills in mathematics learning for students of class VII MTs. Muhammadiyah Nangapanda for the academic year 2021/2022. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlation design. With data collection techniques using test methods, questionnaires, and documentation. In answering the sample using purposive sampling technique with a sample of 22 people in one class, namely class VII. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out using pearson product-moment correlation analysis,   obtained the correlation coofynent r = 0.426 and the relationship belongs to the sufficient category. This shows that accepted and rejected because or , so it can be said accepted and rejected with the large contribution that emotional intelligence gives to critical thinking skills on mathematics learning is only 18.14%. The results obtained from this study show that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills in mathematics learning but in the sufficient category, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills in mathematics learning of class VII MTs. Muhammadiyah Nangapanda students for the academic year 2021/2022

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is a difference in effectiveness between the participatory model and the discovery learning model on students' mathematics learning outcomes at SMPN 21 Mataram on the subject of circles. This research is a type of experimental research with the static group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was class VIII students of SMPN 21 Mataram. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling with circle material. The process of collecting data researchers used interviews, observations, and tests as instruments. From the research results, the participatory model of learning outcomes obtained an average pretest score of 58.68 and a posttest average score of 73.32. While the discovery learning model for learning outcomes obtained an average pretest score of 58.86 and a posttest average score of 73.91. The results of the learning outcomes hypothesis test found that the sig. (2-tailed) 0.821. Because the sig value > 0.05, meaning that H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in effectiveness between the participatory model and the discovery learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMPN 21 Mataram

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas peran ta’mir masjid dalam meningkatkan kualitas pelaksanaan ibadah shalat di masjid raya Kota Pekanbaru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsep ta’mir masjid dan untuk mengetahui peran ta’mir masjid dalam meningkatkan kualitas pelaksanaan ibadah shalat di masjid raya Kota Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan latar penelitian di Masjid Raya Kota Pekanbaru. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berasal dari ta’mir masjid. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini bahwa ta’mir masjid bertanggung jawab dalam mengelola masjid, mempersatukan umat, mendorong semangat musyawarah, memperkuat akidah, menjadi teladan, menjadi rujukan keislaman, dan membangun solidaritas jamaah. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas shalat, ta’mir Masjid Raya menggunakan kriteria khusus dalam merekrut imam, seperti kefasihan bacaan al-Qur’an, pemahaman ilmu agama, karakter mulia, dan usia yang matang.
