Abstract

This research aims to examine 21st century education transformation strategies in an effort to realise competitive human resources (HR) towards Indonesia's golden generation. Through a literature review, this research highlights the importance of changing the educational paradigm, developing a competency and character-based curriculum, and utilising technology in the learning process. The transformation of 21st century education emphasises the mastery of critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration (4C) skills, as well as digital literacy as the main capital to face global challenges. Challenges identified include access gaps, limited infrastructure, resistance to change and the need to strengthen teacher capacity. Proposed solutions include strengthening teacher training, updating the curriculum, equalising access to technology and cross-sector collaboration. The results of the study show that an integrated and adaptive strategy is needed to produce human resources that are superior, innovative and characterised, so that they are ready to compete in the global era and contribute to realising the Golden Indonesia 2045.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of a picture book based on local wisdom to enhance the ecoliteracy of elementary school students. The background of the research is the low environmental awareness among students, as reflected in environmentally unfriendly behaviors, such as littering and unhealthy eating habits. Therefore, introducing local food and the importance of environmental conservation through picture books is considered effective, as it helps students relate the stories to their daily lives. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) involving 78 students from three schools in Sumedang Regency. The product developed, a picture book titled Bubur Suro Tradisi Masyarakat Rancakalong, was proven effective in improving students' ecoliteracy. Data collection was conducted through Likert scale questionnaires, readability analysis, and cognitive learning tests. The results show that the teaching material is valid with an expert score of 89% and a readability level of 91%. The product's effectiveness is also evident from the improvement in students' ecoliteracy on the cognitive aspect, with an average N-Gain of 82.5%. Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of fifth grade elementary school students in writing explanatory texts. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Read Answer Discuss Explain Create (RADEC) learning model assisted by image media on students' ability to write explanatory texts. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a posttest-only control group design . The research sample consisted of three elementary schools in Sumedang Regency, each with 25 students in the experimental and control classes. The instruments used were post-learning tests and observations. The results showed that the application of the RADEC model assisted by image media significantly improved students' ability to write explanatory texts compared to the conventional model. This can be seen from the higher scores obtained in the experimental class, which indicates that the RADEC model helps students develop critical and creative thinking skills, search for information independently, discuss in groups, and write explanatory texts based on their own experiences and understanding. This study proves the effectiveness of the RADEC model assisted by image media in improving the quality of learning to write explanatory texts in elementary school students.

Abstract

Analisis wacana kritis merupakan pendekatan analisis yang mengurai dan mengevaluasi teks, secara tertulis maupun lisan dalam konteks sosial dan politik. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kurangnya filter terhadap informasi yang beredar. Hal ini membuat masyarakat kesulitan untuk membedakan antara fakta dan opini, berita yang akurat dan berita hoaks. keterampilan membaca kritis sangat penting dalam memahami teks berita media daring yang kerap membentuk opini publik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur tekstual, praktik kewacanaan, praktik sosiokultural teks berita pemindahan Ibu Kota Negara dalam media daring serta penggunaannya sebagai sarana pengembangan keterampilan membaca kritis berdasarkan analisis wacana kritis model Norman Fairclough. Penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif serta teknik purposive sampling untuk memilih teks berita yang terbit pada Maret 2024 dari CNNIndonesia.com dan Kompas.com. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam struktur tekstual, seluruh teks berita merepresentasikan aktor negara sebagai sumber otoritatif dan dominan, dengan gaya penyajian netral serta penekanan pada identitas pejabat publik, memuat ideologi tertentu yang mengarahkan pembaca terhadap isu kebijakan. Dalam praktik kewacanaan, teks berita menunjukkan kecenderungan kuat dengan mengandalkan narasi resmi dan institusional wacana. Narasumber utama didominasi oleh pejabat negara dan tidak banyak memberikan ruang bagi masyarakat sipil. Dalam praktik sosiokultural, teks berita memperlihatkan bagaimana wacana pemindahan ibu kota dikonstruksi dalam konteks relasi antara kekuasaan institusional dan struktur sosial-politik yang lebih luas. Media tidak hanya menyampaikan informasi administratif, melainkan juga berkontribusi dalam memproduksi makna - makna ideologis mengenai pembangunan, stabilitas nasional, dan legitimasi kebijakan negara. Seluruh teks berita yang dianalisis menunjukkan potensi besar sebagai bahan ajar yang melatih siswa untuk berpikir reflektif, analitis, dan partisipatif.

Abstract

Writing descriptive text is the art of depicting or describing an object or phenomenon in vivid detail, with the primary goal of conveying the author's experience to the reader. This means the writer acts as the reader's "eyes," observing visual details directly and then translating them into words. More than simply informing, the writer strives to stimulate the reader's imagination and senses, so they can see, hear, or feel the object being described for themselves, even if they have never witnessed it in person. Based on field observations, students experience difficulty developing ideas or concepts, lack attractive designs, and lack writing skills. This is due to the lack of variety in the learning models implemented by teachers. This study aims to describe the learning outcomes of writing descriptive text using the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model for fifth-grade elementary school students in North Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency, in the 2025/2026 academic year. Therefore, the instruments used were teaching modules, observation sheets, tests, and student learning motivation questionnaires. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental approach with qualitative and quantitative analysis. Based on data analysis, the success rate of poster writing learning using the SSCS model in the three sample classes is categorized as high. This is evidenced by the z-test calculation results, which show a calculated Z of -0.51, while the z-table for a 1% significance level is 2.33. Comparing the calculated Z values, it is found that the calculated Z values ​​lie within the range of -z to z. Because the calculated Z values ​​lie within the range of -z0.4900 to z0.4900 (-2.33 < -0.51 < 2.33), the hypothesis proposed in this study is accepted. Thus, the learning outcomes of poetry writing using the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model for fifth-grade elementary school students in North Sumedang District in the 2025/2026 academic year are categorized as high.
