Abstract

With the Covid-19 virus pandemic that has plagued various countries, the need for a system to prevent transmission of the virus is very important. By utilizing IoT technology to be applied to light control systems, it can reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The design of this IoT-based light control system is carried out using the Android application and the Arduino Uno via a Wifi connection and using a PIR sensor that can be connected to the ESP8266 Wifi module. With the PIR motion sensor, it can be implemented as a controller of light intensity with 3 brightness differences.

Abstract

One of the fires that occurred in the kitchen was an LPG gas leak. To prevent fires from occurring, there was a need for a tool that could dispose of LPG gas leaks in the kitchen. From this problem, a system and tool was created using a Wemos D1 Mini microcontroller which was connected to the MQ-2, DHT 11, IR Flame and PIR sensors and the Blynk application for monitoring remotely with internet of things technology. For the MQ-2 sensor, when it detects gas above 200 ppm, an alarm will sound and activate 1 blower and will activate 2 blowers when it detects gas above 700 ppm. Apart from that, the tool made is also equipped with automatic fire extinguishing settings with an IR Flame sensor, temperature settings with a DHT 11 sensor and light settings with a PIR sensor. The systems and tools created have the benefit of preventing early fires in the kitchen.

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of interconnected devices that enables these objects to collect and exchange data. IoT offers an efficient solution for various fields, including the database recording of borrowing and returning calibration standard measuring instruments. This research aims to design and implement an automated IoT-based borrowing and returning system to support database recording effectiveness. The focus of this research includes the design of the borrowing and returning system, the method of transmitting data to Google Sheets, and email notifications when borrowing or returning activities occur. The research methods include the design of hardware consisting of a fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, ESP32 microcontroller, liquid crystal display (LCD), and 4x4 keypad, as well as database recording to Google Sheets utilizing Google Sheets scripts and email notifications via Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) connection. The research results show that the system was successfully developed with a high success rate for personnel identification accuracy, reaching up to 92%, with an average identification time of 1.42 seconds. Additionally, the developed system proved to be an effective solution for replacing the manual borrowing system, based on a survey of laboratory personnel.

Abstract

In the operation of electric power distribution, the transformer can be said to be the heart of the transmission and distribution of electric power. In recent years the use of vegetable oil is increasing. The purpose of this study was to test and analyze a mixture of transformer oil and nyamplung oil (Calophyllum Inophyllum) as transformer insulation and also to obtain the best composition of nyamplung oil which can be used as an alternative to transformer oil. This research method tested the parameters of nyamplung oil and a mixture of nyamplung oil and mineral oil (Shell Diala S4), such as; viscosity, flash point, density, pour point, acidity, moisture content and breakdown voltage. The sample test results are then compared with standard mineral oil according to IEC 60296-2003. From the analysis conducted, it was found that TRNY10 oil mixture (10% transformer oil and 90% mineral oil) has the best potential as power transformer oil.
