Abstract

Economic growth is an important phenomenon because it is closely related to the ultimate goal of development, namely community welfare. However, not all regions in Indonesia have experienced an increase in economic growth. Less-developed regions are among those with low economic growth. This study aims to analyze the determinant of economic growth in 40 less-developed regions of Indonesia during 2015-2022 using a quantile panel regression analysis tool. The results show that the fixed capital formation, population, and human development have a significant positive effect on economic growth at low, medium, and high levels of economic growth. The internet usage variable has a significant positive effect on low and medium economic growth levels but has no effect on high economic growth levels. The access to clean water variable has a significant positive effect on low economic growth levels but has a significant negative effect on medium economic growth levels. Meanwhile, at high economic growth levels, access to clean water has no effect. The government is more committed to accelerating development and the community must actively cooperate in regional development to increase regional economic growth.

Abstract

Global warming is very serious because for the first time the average annual temperature has crossed the threshold of 1.5 ° C. One of the causes of the increase in temperature is the presence of greenhouse gases (GHG) and carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of these gases. ASEAN is a regional organization whose member countries are mostly middle income countries and also has high economic growth because they are in the stage of economic development where according to the environmental kuznet curve (EKC) hypothesis this will increase environmental degradation. In addition, ASEAN has a high level of CO2 emissions. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence carbon dioxide emissions in ASEAN from 2014 to 2023. The variables used are CO2 emissions as the dependent variable, then GDP, FDI, Population, and Industrial Rate as the dependent variables, then analyzed using the panel data regression method. The results of the study showed that GDP and Population have a significant positive effect on CO2 emissions while FDI and Industrial Rate produce negative coefficients but do not have a significant effect on CO2 emissions.

Abstract

The government provides assistance to maintain the resilience of MSMEs during Covid-19. The research aims to analyze the effectiveness of government assistance to MSMEs and determine appropriate strengthening strategies. The research was conducted in Magelang City, with the research object being 32 respondents receiving BPUM assistance in 2021. Data collection methods were carried out by observation, interviews, and filling out questionnaires. The analysis in this research includes descriptive analysis, one sample chi-square test analysis, Wilcoxon signed rank test analysis, and SWOT analysis. The results show different opportunities for each micro-enterprise to get BPUM assistance based on length of business, type of business, and type of product. Another finding is that BPUM assistance is effective in increasing micro businesses in capital, production, and added value but ineffective in increasing the workforce. Strengthening strategies such as unique products, partner relationships, digital marketing, promotions, improving the quality of human resources, innovation, and exploiting tourism potential are the right strategies to implement.

Abstract

Energy poverty is a complex, multidimensional issue that can hinder sustainable development in many developing nations, including Indonesia. Although the national electrification ratio has improved, gaps in energy access remain, particularly in eastern regions with limited infrastructure. Most prior studies have focused on national trends or developed areas, often relying on single indicators, leaving little detailed analysis for eastern provinces using multidimensional measures and severity levels. This study examines factors influencing household energy poverty in Papua Pegunungan, Papua Tengah, Papua Selatan, and Nusa Tenggara Timur. Data come from the March 2024 Susenas survey, covering 22,989 households. Energy poverty is classified into three levels, and multinomial logistic regression is applied to assess how household characteristics affect the probability of belonging to each level. Findings show that housing size, settlement type (rural/urban), household head’s age, and non-food spending significantly affect energy poverty status. In contrast, education, household size, and household head’s sex have no significant effect. These results point to the need for policies that expand equitable energy infrastructure, improve housing conditions, and ensure affordable, adequate energy access across eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

Economic growth is an indicator that discloses the economic condition of a region. In 1990, Indonesia met its highest growth rate that had ever occurred, in which in subsequent years it tended to decline although Indonesia's financial and labor revenues increased. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the influence of financial and labor aspects on Indonesia's economic growth, both short and long-term. The research was conducted using quantitative descriptive techniques. Secondary data is in the form of time series. The analysis technique uses multiple linear regression with the ARDL (Autoregressive Distributed Lag) model. The research explains that tax revenue, and non-tax state revenue as financial indicators have a positive and significant influence, and labor has a significant negative influence in the long term, while foreign investment has a positive and insignificant influence. Tax revenues and non-tax state revenues have a positive and significant effect on Indonesia's economic growth, while foreign investment and labor have an insignificant effect in the short term for the period 1990-2022.
