Abstract

The abundance of information flow in the modern era has brought a very big impact on human life. The entry of foreign cultures as a result of the globalization process can threaten the nation's cultural characteristics and values, including in the city of Yogyakarta. The culture in Yogyakarta City holds charm with local wisdom values, such as traditional dances, traditional music, traditional games, petitahs, regional motto/pantun, regional art performances, traditional culinary delights, folklore and so forth. But now people tend to understand the culture and appreciate it only on national holidays or certain celebrations. Thus it is very necessary to instil national values, especially in young children in TK Negeri 3 Suryoputran, Yogyakarta City using the method of reflection, discussion and simulation. It is hoped that innocent young children can practice and learn a regional culture in the midst of the widespread use of gadgets given by parents to children in the midst of their busy lives. Keywords: Local Wisdom; Nationality Values; Early Childhood.

Abstract

Abstract

According to the Hootsuite We Are Social report, internet use in Indonesia continues to increase and is higher than the total population. Pierre Levy's perspective with two approaches, namely: social interaction and social integration is also able to show changes in behavior as well as shifts in public activity as a form of adaptation in the current era of disruption. The existence of the internet is like a double-edged sword, especially for groups of children at an early age who are very vulnerable to being exposed to negatively charged information and content, even though this condition has also been regulated in the Information and Electronic Transactions Law / UU ITE. This Community Service Activity is located at TK Negeri 3 Suryoputran Yogyakarta City "by using the lecture method, related questions and answers: (1) early childhood understanding of the scope of the internet and the use of gadgets / smartphones, (2) early childhood understanding of content on social media and the impact that will be obtained, and (3) simulation / playing learning together. The students at the activity location were equipped with a number of important knowledge regarding the use and when is the right time to use a smartphone that is appropriate for their age background. Then, the content, information, and what impacts can be obtained by early childhood children due to excessive internet access were explained as clearly as possible by the facilitators because it departed from the finding that these children were quite fluent in accessing the Google website and several popular social media. everyday. Therefore, it is hoped that there will be complete cooperation from parents and schools to be able to accompany the growth and development of children at this young age, including as a creative and skilled digital generation.

Abstract

The Rich Jogja Hotel and Jogja City Mall are subsidiaries of PT. Garuda Mitra Sejati (GMS). This hotel and mall are unique because they carry the concept of a mixed-use building, which turned out to cause many problems, including (1) electricity, (2) evacuation routes, and (3) plumbing. This research uses a qualitative case study method to determine the role of organizational communication in handling conflict in engineering departments at The Rich Jogja Hotel and Jogja City Mall through concepts of mixed-use buildings. The research results show that intensive communication has been carried out by the hotel, mall, and holding teams, such as organizing open forums or sharing sessions with employees. Even in handling problems, company leaders still do not involve all parties, but only those relevant to the conflict. Abstract

Tren walking tour telah menjadi bisnis kreatif dengan minat khusus di beberapa kawasan tujuan untuk mengajak para pelakunya kembali memahami dinamika di masa lampau. Tulisan ini bertujuan menganalisis interaksi sosial dalam kegiatan Jogja Walking Tour sebagai alternatif berwisatanya kaum muda berdasarkan teori Interaksional Simbolik-nya Herbert Blumer dengan 3 premis pemikiran. Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif pada pendekatan fenomenologi, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jogja Walking Tour tidak lepas dari daya tarik seorang story teller yang cukup informatif. Semangat walking tour dapat dijadikan model pembelajaran bagi wisatawan untuk kian mengenal lokalitas dan keanekaragaman kebudayaan tertentu di suatu masyarakat. Menelusuri aktivitas Jogja Walking Tour sebagai salah satu cara baru berwisata publik, nampaknya terus mewarnai media digital dengan sejumlah interaksi sosial para pelakunya yang sudah saling terkoneksi. Hal tersebut tentu saja sejalan dengan Perspektif-nya Herbert Blumer terkait analisis perilaku individu dengan individu yang lain dalam kelompok kecil yang bahkan dalam aktivitas walking tour interaksi itu sendiri dapat digambarkan antara “wisatawan” dengan sesamanya ataupun antara “wisatawan” dengan “penduduk setempat” yang proses komunikasinya pun terus dikembangkan selama perjalanan berlangsung. Sehingga diharapkan adanya sumbangsi dari pemerintah yang tidak hanya berfokus pada kemajuan infrastruktur pariwisatanya saja, juga dapat memfasilitasi hadirnya berbagai komunitas lokal yang dapat menggerakan industri wisata kedaerahan.

Abstract

Transformasi bisnis dari pasar konvensional menuju pasar digital, menjadi salah satu inisiasi diadakannya kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat pada tanggal 04 Januari 2025 yang bertempat di Balai RW 14 Gamping Tengah, Ambarketawang, Yogyakarta. Berlatar-belakang aktifitas budidaya pertanian dalam keseharian masyarakat sekitar, kegiatan ini bermaksud untuk meningkatkan kapasitas para anggota Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Telang Asri yang berusia 40 – 67 tahun, terutama pada penguasaan teknologi digital untuk memasarkan produk-produk yang dihasilkannya. Memilih kelompok perempuan sebagai mitra dalam kegiatan ini yang bahkan dikenal juga dengan generasi digital imigran menjadi fokus tim fasilitator, sebab siapapun dirasa perlu menguasai aspek digitalisasi yang terus melaju cepat. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan beberapa metode pelaksanaan, yaitu : presentasi oral, diskusi, dan tutorial secara langsung pada praktik fotografi produk. Salah satu hal menarik sebelum acara inti dilakukan, tim fasilitator terlebih dahulu menyebarkan kuisioner kepada mitra guna mengukur  pengetahuan sebelum hingga setelah kegiatan diadakan.Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa antusias para peserta sangat terjaga selama kegiatan berlangsung. Ketertarikan mengenai ruang lingkup media sosial, upaya dalam membuat konten digital, maupun strategi dalam memaksimalkan penjualan secara online diuraikan secara bertahap sebagaimana tingginya rasa keingintahuan para peserta dalam menjawab berbagai fenomena sosial. Kemudian agar kegiatan ini semakin dapat memiliki manfaat bagi mitra, maka proses pemberdayaan dalam bentuk pendampingan terhadap ibu-ibu rumah tangga di tempat tersebut, dilakukan dengan cara memaksimalkan penggunaan beberapa aplikasi editing yang dapat diakses melalui ponsel masing-masing, maupun tips dasar dalam mengambil foto produk yang ciamik dan menarik. Sehingga secara keseluruhan kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat berlanjut di masa mendatang, sebagaimana tujuan mempercepat ekonomi masyarakat yang mandiri.

Abstract

The ecosystem around Mount Merapi, Indonesia, has many potential water sources. Still, poor management and a decrease in springs may lead to a water crisis in 2029 that could affect millions of residents in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This study aims to identify the inhibiting factors for collaborative water governance under the threat of a water crisis. This research used qualitative descriptive research with data collected through interviews, documents, and observations. The analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification to explore Yogyakarta's water management aspects. The study suggests that collaborative water governance involving multiple stakeholders, including non-government actors, is crucial for effective water management. The local government dominates water management, while private and community groups have minimal involvement. There is a need for more specific regulations that comprehensively regulate water management and conservation efforts in the regions. Water management in Yogyakarta is classified under traditional governance due to the limited involvement of non-government actors and the  minimal participation space provided by the regional government. A comprehensive regulation is needed to address water conservation, and complete collaboration among stakeholders is necessary to overcome obstacles in the water management crisis.

Abstract

The increasingly massive business dynamism in the hotel industry means business competition is no longer avoidable. The emergence of new hotels with a more modern feel, quality services, and very attractive promotional activities in various marketing media is a series of activities that Kalya Hotel Yogyakarta needs attention to. This research aims to analyze the application of the Kotler and Armstrong Promotion Mix with five components, namely Advertising, Sales Promotion, Public Relations, Personal Sales, and Direct Marketing, in increasing sales and maintaining the trust of guests/consumers. By using descriptive qualitative methods with purposive techniques in determining research informants, the results in the field show that the Promotion Mix at Kalya Hotel Yogyakarta has been used as a whole, although it is still not optimal. The use of social media, giving shopping vouchers and discounts, and other efforts are starting to be adjusted based on current developments. In the future, Kalya Hotel Yogyakarta will also have to increase the capacity of human resources/employees at that place and choose and consider other modern media that can further maximize targeted promotional activities. Abstract

It is inevitable that industry 4.0 has become a new phenomenon that makes human life very dependent on digital technology. Online media products are also increasingly mushrooming in their use which can positively help public activities in various sectors of life. Including the presence of social media which is currently very multifunctional, and can even provide quite promising financial benefits. This Community Service Activity aims to educate groups of housewives in Nitiprayan Village, Yogyakarta to be more productive and have a commitment to taking advantage of opportunities in the digital era. The method of implementing the activity is carried out in stages and face to face, namely: oral presentations, interactive discussions, simulations and special evaluations by the facilitator team. This activity was attended by 25 participants, which was held at the Nitibudoyo Studio, Nitiprayan Village, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. The superiority of local culture inherent in the activity location becomes capital that can be elaborated in the media activities of the partner group. Although the beneficiary group must still choose the most potential digital platform with their respective expertise. Simple ideas can in principle be created from habits that are often done at home. So that this activity is expected to answer the gap in access to the use of modern communication technology, especially those that are suspected to occur a lot among women. That way, issues related to the generation gap, especially in the use of gadgets and even adaptation to the latest trends which are inevitable, will be easier to overcome, even with the most enjoyable efforts. Activity participants gain new experiences to be able to directly practice creating content that can then be disseminated through their social media.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity aims to empower Gen-Z in the Widya Mataram University Yogyakarta Campus environment as a tourism-aware society, especially through active participation in Instagram social media. The involvement of the beneficiary group is expected to take a real role in boosting tourism potential which in the future can even be used as an increasingly prominent tourist destination, because the tourism resources in the Special Region of Yogyakarta are increasingly progressive over time. The activity method is carried out in stages by means of: lectures, discussions-questions and answers, and trials / practices of creating digital content as promotional materials as well as branding on Instagram social media. The results of the activity were carried out smoothly in January 2025 which was attended by 25 participants. An educational and persuasive approach is an effort that is strengthened by the facilitator team regarding the phenomenon of the high culture of searching and sharing in the digital space, so that the beneficiary group is directed to become tourism development agents as the concept of creative people in planning to implementation and development. The products created by the beneficiary group are in the form of fun and informative tourism content on Instagram social media, especially regarding activities in: local community culture, iconic artificial attractions, or various culinary tourism attractions.
