Abstract

Insurance is a form of agreement between the insurer against the insured party (insurance company), where the insurer will pay a premium to the insured every month as a form of collateral for loss or damage that befalls him for certain events. Researchers took data by distributing questionnaires to respondents. Some covariate variables used in the study include: gender, vehicle age, vehicle insurance costs, vehicle use, vehicle mileage every year, and claims records in the last three years. Meanwhile, the dependent variable is frequency claim and claim severity. The researcher estimates the Generalized Linear Models (GLZ) parameters using the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE). The next step, researchers conducted a model compatibility test on the dependent variable using calculations on the Akaike Information Criteria (AIC), where the model chosen was the model with the lowest AIC value. Based on this, the researcher can determine covariate variables that affect the dependent variable and model it. The final step is the researcher calculates the probability of claim frequency, claim severity, and estimates the amount of pure premiums charged to respondents.

Abstract

Abstract

Financial literacy is a crucial element in raising public awareness regarding financial management. It is closely linked to financial planning, with family financial planning being a key aspect of financial management, specifically in creating a monthly budget. According to the 2024 OJK survey, the financial literacy index for women (66.75%) is higher compared to men (64.14%). Based on these findings, the outreach team from the Mathematics Study Program at Universitas Terbuka aims to support OJK's efforts to improve family financial literacy among female parents at SDI Khazanah Kebajikan. The program implementation is divided into three phases: preparation (where the outreach team conducts a direct visit to the school), execution, and evaluation (via a partner satisfaction survey). The survey results reveal that participants were highly satisfied with the program, with a satisfaction rate of 95%. This satisfaction was attributed to various factors, including the speaker's knowledge, the perceived benefits of the program, the relevance of the topics presented by the outreach team in line with their expertise, the program's ability to address current issues, and the clarity with which the material was delivered.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze customer satisfaction at KOMIDA Cooperative Ajibarang by examining the influence of two main factors, namely loan products and service quality. The research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach utilizing the Fuzzy Mamdani inference system for data processing. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and interviews with active cooperative members as respondents. The use of fuzzy logic methods was chosen due to their ability to handle uncertainty and subjectivity in customer perceptions, thereby producing results that more accurately reflect real conditions in the field. The findings reveal that both the offered loan products and the quality of services provided play equally important roles in shaping customer satisfaction. Loan products were assessed as relevant to members’ needs, while services characterized by friendliness, efficiency, and clear communication enhanced the positive experience of members in interacting with the cooperative. Most respondents gave positive, indicating that the cooperative’s services and products have met, and in many cases closely aligned with, their expectations.

Abstract

Financial literacy training for elementary school teachers is a strategic initiative to instill basic financial management skills in students through curriculum integration. This community service program was conducted at SDN Pengasinan 1 with 26 participating teachers. The activities included material delivery, group discussions, thematic lesson plan development, and evaluation using digital pre-tests and post-tests via the Kahoot app. Pre-test results indicated a low initial understanding, with an average correct response rate of 44.29%. After the training, post-test results showed significant improvement, reaching 85.71%. Analysis revealed increased understanding in nine of ten financial literacy indicators, though a decline was observed in grasping basic concepts, suggesting the need to reinforce fundamental materials. Overall, the thematic and participatory approach proved effective in enhancing teachers’ competencies in financial literacy and demonstrates potential for replication in other elementary schools.

Abstract

Modeling and forecasting mortality rates have been widely performed using various approaches. One such approach is the Second Adapted Nolfi model, which is one of three adaptations derived from the Nolfi and Generalized Nolfi models. Unfortunately, its application remains limited compared to widely used models like Lee-Carter and Cairns-Blake-Dowd. Previous studies on this model have shown satisfactory performance, particularly in residual analysis. However, those studies were conducted before the COVID-19 pandemic, and no study has yet applied it in the pandemic or post-pandemic periods. Although the pandemic may appear less relevant in 2025, the absence of such studies highlights the importance of further investigation into the model’s performance under extreme demographic conditions. This study addresses that gap by evaluating the Second Adapted Nolfi model using data from the Human Mortality Database (HMD) for the United States, the United Kingdom, and Italy. The model was applied to data up to 2019, and Auto-ARIMA was used to forecast from 2020 onward. The modeling results indicate that the logarithmic mortality curves align with established patterns, such as high rates at age 0, a decline through childhood, a sharp increase in early adulthood, and a continued rise into old age. The results also show that HMD mortality rates exceed the forecasted values for individuals aged 80 and above, suggesting increased elderly mortality during the pandemic. Three error metrics were used, yielding RMSE values from 0.01 to 0.18, MAE from 0.004 to 0.07, and MAPE from 28 to 286. Although Italy had the highest MAPE, the United States and the United Kingdom also showed notable errors. These findings reveal both the pandemic’s demographic impact and limitations of the model in capturing sudden shocks. Future studies may enhance this model through new adaptations, further comparison with other models, or alternative smoothing techniques to develop more robust mortality forecasts.
