Abstract

This paper aims to describe the role of Islamic educational leadership practised by school principals in addressing the psychological impact experienced by students after natural disasters in Indonesia. This article uses a literature study approach that explores information and processing research material through the recording of events that have been reviewed. The role of the principal in Islamic educational leadership is crucial in addressing the psychological impact of natural disasters on students in Indonesia. Principals, guided by Islamic values such as compassion, trust, and justice, are responsible for creating a supportive and safe environment for students affected by trauma. Their leadership involves structured interventions, including phases of stabilization, emotional sharing, and rebuilding trust. Effective communication, resource management, and collaboration with teachers, families, and the community are key to minimizing the long-term psychological effects of disasters. Islamic educational leadership empowers principals to foster resilience and emotional healing, ensuring students' well-being and recovery while maintaining a focus on their academic and personal growth. Limitations are shown in the study of the principal’s role in handling the psychological impact of students as victims of natural disasters within the framework of Islamic educational leadership. This study is grounded in the principles of Islamic educational leadership, emphasizing the importance of compassionate and responsive leadership in managing education during a crisis. It highlights the pivotal role of school principals in guiding and supporting students affected by natural disasters, who require not only academic leadership but also emotional and psychological care rooted in Islamic values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan bahwa fisika kerap dianggap sulit oleh mahasiswa karena memuat konsep konsep abstrak dan rumus matematika kompleks, termasuk materi fluida statis seperti prinsip Pascal, padahal pemahamannya sangat penting karena terkait fenomena nyata dan menuntut keterampilan berpikir analitis. Sumber belajar yang ada belum efektif melatihkan keterampilan tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan serta menguji validitas suplemen bahan ajar berbasis Project Based Learning (PjBL) pada materi fluida statis prinsip Pascal yang dirancang untuk melatihkan keterampilan analitis mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan model Borg & Gall yang dipadatkan menjadi lima tahap, dengan fokus pada uji validitas isi oleh tiga ahli. Instrumen validasi mencakup empat aspek: isi, konstruksi, bahasa, serta keterkaitan PjBL dan keterampilan analitis. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa suplemen berada pada kategori sangat valid, dengan skor rata rata 4,67 (isi), 4,22 (konstruksi), 4,67 (bahasa), dan 4,67 (PjBL & keterampilan analitis). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa suplemen layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar kontekstual untuk memperkuat keterampilan berpikir analitis mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran fisika abad ke 21.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven a transformation in the world of education, particularly in the development of innovative and interactive learning media. The Canva application is a digital-based graphic design platform that can be utilized in learning, especially to enrich the visual presentation of teaching materials. This study aims to describe the use of the Canva application in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning in grade 5 of SD Negeri 3 Jabalsari, explore students' learning experiences during the learning process using Canva, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors that arise. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through observations of learning activities, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation in the form of student work and teaching tools. The results show that the use of Canva can increase student engagement, facilitate understanding of abstract material, and foster creativity in processing information. Teachers also found it easier to create more engaging and communicative teaching materials. However, several obstacles were encountered such as limited internet access, lack of teacher training in using Canva, and other technical obstacles that require support from the school. Overall, Canva proved to be an effective learning medium in improving the quality of IPAS learning in elementary schools, especially in learning contexts that require visualization and active student participation. This research provides practical insights for teachers in strategically adopting digital media and can serve as a reference in developing technology-based contextual learning methods. The findings also open up opportunities for further research on the integration of Canva into various subjects and its impact on students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions. ABSTRAKPerkembangan teknologi digital telah mendorong transformasi dalam dunia pendidikan, khususnya pada pengembangan media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan interaktif. Aplikasi Canva merupakan salah satu platform desain grafis berbasis digital yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran, terutama untuk memperkaya penyajian materi ajar secara visual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan aplikasi Canva dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di kelas 5 SD Negeri 3 Jabalsari, mengeksplorasi pengalaman belajar siswa selama proses pembelajaran menggunakan Canva, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang muncul. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran, wawancara dengan guru dan siswa, serta dokumentasi berupa hasil karya siswa dan perangkat ajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan Canva mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, mempermudah pemahaman terhadap materi abstrak, serta menumbuhkan kreativitas dalam mengolah informasi. Guru juga merasakan kemudahan dalam menyusun bahan ajar yang lebih menarik dan komunikatif. Meskipun demikian, ditemukan beberapa kendala seperti keterbatasan akses internet, kurangnya pelatihan guru dalam penggunaan Canva, serta hambatan teknis lainnya yang memerlukan dukungan dari pihak sekolah. Secara keseluruhan, Canva terbukti menjadi media pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar, terutama dalam konteks pembelajaran yang menuntut visualisasi dan partisipasi aktif siswa. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi praktis bagi guru dalam mengadopsi media digital secara strategis dan dapat dijadikan rujukan dalam pengembangan metode pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis teknologi. Temuan ini juga membuka peluang untuk penelitian lebih lanjut terkait pengintegrasian Canva dalam berbagai mata pelajaran serta pengaruhnya terhadap dimensi kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik siswa.
