Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memerikan perbedaan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks berbahasa Jawa antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dan strategi Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) dibandingkan dengan strategi Guided Reading ditinjau dari minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2 x 3 yang melibatkan 174 siswa dari enam SD negeri di Kabupaten Sragen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode tes, angket, observasi, studi dokumenter, dan wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan teknik anava dua jalur dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Scheffe menggunakan program SPSS Versi 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa DRTA berpengaruh dalam peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dibandingkan dengan Guided Reading. Siswa yang memiliki minat belajar tinggi menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memiliki minat belajar sedang atau rendah. Selain itu, tidak ada interaksi antara strategi yang digunakan dan minat belajar dalam peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman. This study aims to describe the difference in reading comprehension ability of Javanese language texts between students who join learning with the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy compared to the Guided Reading strategy viewed from students? learning interest. This research is experimental research with a 2 x 3 factorial design involving 174 students from six public elementary schools in Sragen Regency. Data were collected through the test, questionnaires, observations, documentary studies, and interviews methods. Data were analyzed using a two-way anova technique and continued with a Scheffe test using SPSS Version 16. The results showed that DRTA had a better effect on improving reading comprehension compared to Guided Reading. Students who have a high learning interest show better results compared to students who have a moderate or low learning interest. Also, there is no interaction between the strategies used and learning interest in improving reading comprehension ability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar ranah kognitif pada mata pelajaran matematika materi kecepatan dan debit pada siswa kelas V A SD Negeri Masaran 1 tahun pelajaran 2018/2019, mengetahui dampak metode TAI terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa, dan pendapat siswa terkait dengan metode TAI. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V A SD Negeri Masaran 1 tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 23 siswa. Teknik analisis statistik deskriptif digunakan untuk menganalisis data kuantitatif dari hasil angket, tes, dan observasi. Teknik analisis model Miles dan Huberman digunakan untuk menganalisis data kualitatif dari hasil wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode TAI dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar pada materi kecepatan dan debit. Metode TAI juga terbukti dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan pandangan siswa yang positif terhadap penerapan metode TAI.This study aims to improve the motivation and learning outcomes in the cognitive domain in mathematics subject about speed and liquid flow rate in class V A of SD Negeri Masaran 1 in the 2018/2019 academic year, knowing the impact of the TAI method on students learning activities, and students opinions about TAI method. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. The research subjects were all students in class V A that consist of 23 students. Descriptive statistical analysis techniques are used to analyze quantitative data from the results of questionnaires, tests, and observations. The analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman model was used to analyze qualitative data from the interviews. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the TAI method can increase motivation and learning outcomes. The TAI method has also been proven to increase students learning activities. The interview results showed positive students' views on the application of the TAI method.

Abstract

Mastery of mathematical literacy is essential for developing life skills in the 21st century. Mathematical literacy is even more critical in elementary schools as it forms the basis for mastery at the junior and senior high school levels. Elementary school students differ in their characteristics from students at the higher education level. They, therefore, require an appropriate learning model to improve their mathematical literacy. This research aims to develop a learning model, termed Realistic Mathematics Engineering (RMEng), that combines the Realistic Mathematics Education approach with the steps of the Engineering Design Process and determines the model’s effectiveness. The model was validated by seven experts from three universities in Indonesia and had an Aiken validity index value of 0.786, indicating that it was valid. The RMEng model contains the following steps: understanding realistic problems, solving problems in informal ways, developing formal mathematics, developing products, and drilling. Discussions and presentations can be incorporated into each of these five steps. The RMEng model was subjected to the stages of preliminary and main field testing and was revised based on the suggestions of teachers and observers. Through experimental research compared to a control group, the RMEng model was proven more effective in increasing elementary school students’ mathematical literacy at the 0.000 significance level.
