Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas produksi dan daya saing produk kosmetik lokal tradisional terutama Bedda Lotong di CV. Idlan Waranie Perkasa melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan penerapan Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Pelatihan diadakan untuk mengatasi kendala mitra dalam memahami prinsip GMP serta meningkatkan inovasi dalam formulasi produk kosmetik berbasis bahan tradisional. Melalui serangkaian pelatihan dan pendampingan, mitra diharapkan mampu mengoptimalkan proses produksi sesuai standar GMP dan menciptakan produk yang aman, berkualitas, serta kompetitif di pasar. Evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan dalam pemahaman peserta terkait GMP dan kemampuan formulasi produk.

Abstract

Danau Tempe terkenal sebagai mangkuk ikan air tawar dunia sehingga masyarakat sekitar umumnya bekerja sebagai nelayan.  Akibat cara mereka menangkap ikan yang umumnya menggunakan alat tradisional, maka ikan yang kecilpun ikut tertangkap dan hanya dibuang karena tidak laku terjual, atau dikeringkan dan dijual dengan harga yang murah. Hal ini yang mendasari kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di Lingkungan Bakke Orai, Kelurahan Salomenraleng, Kecamatan Tempe, Kabupaten Wajo.  Upaya untuk menyelamatkan hasil tangkapan dengan mengolahnya menjadi produk yang bernilai jual dan tahan lama menjadi prioritas masyarakat setempat.  Kegiatan utama yang dilaksanakan adalah penyuluhan, demonstrasi dan pelatihan pembuatan produk nugget ikan dan kaki naga ikan. Tema penyuluhan terkait dengan potensi ikan air tawar dan metode pengolahan ikan yang tepat, jenis-jenis olahan ikan air tawar yang dapat bernilai ekonomi, cara memilih jenis kemasan sesuai kondisi produk, serta cara pengemasan produk olahan ikan air tawar. Kegiatan demonstrasi dan pelatihan dilakukan dalam bentuk pemberian contoh pembuatan produk nugget ikan dan kaki naga ikan, cara memilih jenis kemasan disesuaikan dengan jenis dan kondisi produk, serta cara pengemasan produk yang tepat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat nelayan dapat mengolah ikan yang kecil-kecil menjadi produk yang dapat dijual sehingga dapat menunjang perekonomian keluarga. Hasil yang dicapai berupa peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat nelayan dari hasil penjualan nugget ikan. Kegiatan ini telah berhasil menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan, meningkatkan produktivitas, serta tersedianya paket teknologi pangan tepat guna pengolahan nugget ikan dan kaki naga ikan yang dapat digunakan oleh masyarakat untuk mengolah hasil tangkapan mereka menjadi produk yang bernilai jual. Kata kunci: ikan air tawar, nugget ikan, kaki naga ikan.

Abstract

Kluwak shell carbon (KTK) is a biomass with potential as an adsorbent, containing cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, and fixed carbon at a content of 92.15%. However, the current utilization of KTK in adsorbing free fatty acids and methylene blue is limited and can be improved through thermal activation at a range of temperatures. The study aims to investigate the impact of activation temperature on CEC by examining the adsorption capacity of methylene blue solution, iodine solution, and surface area. Activation was carried out for 2 hours at temperatures ranging from 500 to 900 C on Kluwak shell carbon. The adsorbent performance of the activated KTKAT was initially tested using methylene solution with a concentration of 50 ppm, a volume of 50 ml, and 0.15 grams of KTKAT. The solution was placed in an orbit shaker for 90 minutes and filtered. The absorbance of the filtrate adsorption results was measured at a wavelength of 662 nm using UV VIS. For the second test, 50 ml of 0.1 N Iodine and 0.5 g KTKAT were stirred for 15 minutes and then centrifuged for approximately 15 minutes. A volume of 10 ml of the resulting iodine solution adsorption filtrate was titrated with 0.1 N Sodium Thiosulfate. The surface area was determined using the BET method. The concentration (ppm) of methylene blue solution was determined by converting the absorbance measurement using the standard curve equation. The iodine number was determined by titrating the iodine adsorption filtrate with sodium thiosulfate (ml). These data show that there is an obvious correlation between activation temperature and methylene blue absorbance, iodine number, and surface area. At 800°C, the methylene blue adsorption is 12.41 mg/g, the iodine number is 875.61 mg/g, and the surface area is 561.404 m²/g.

Abstract

This study aim the adsorption capacity of wood ash adsorbent from Makassar coto wood (ACM) and wood ash in the air cooking (AMA) of the blue methylene solution and its characteristics. ACM is activated by NaOH 3M and NaCl 0.85 M, to improve its performance as an adsorbent. ACM without permission and activation as well as AMA of 0.25 grams were tested against 50 ml of methyl blue with concentrations of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 ppm. Adsorption runs for 1.5 hours using a shaker at a speed of 500 rom. Adsorbent and adsorbate use filter paper then the absorbance of the filtrate is taken to determine the equilibrium concentration (Ce) of methylene blue. The maximum adsorbent capacity (qm) is determined using the Langmuer equation for the administrator's ACM adorbent type and without activation with AMA. Other tests consisted of adsorbent characteristics consisting of ACM and AMA compositions. The results of the study showed differences, namely ACA having a composition of 28.15% Silica (Si), 20.86% Ca and AMA namely 30.68% Si, 15.29% Ca. The maximum adsorption capacity (qm) of ACM is 12.37 mg / g and for AMA is 10.29 mg / g. Activation of 3M NaOH ACM has an adsorption capacity (qm) of 13.01 mg / g and activation of 0.85 M NaCl which is 15.15 mg / g.

Abstract

The amount of liquid wastes containing acetic acid found from food industry such as tofu home industry released is relatively high and pollutes water quality and also environment nearby. Several methods reducing pollutant in liquid wastes are available, one of which is adsorption using carbon as an adsorbent. The production of cassava in Indonesia was about 23.936 tons in year 2013 which produced cassava’s skin wastes about 2.393 tons. Mostly these cassava’s skin wastes containing around 59.31% carbon is disposed as garbage. This research is to develop more on reducing acetic acid containing in liquid waste by carbon active from cassava’s skin with variation of particle sizes, reaction times and acetic acid liquid waste concentrations, and also to study the kinetic reaction of cassava skin active carbon adsorbing acetic acid between Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm equations. The result shows the kinetic adsorption follows Freundlich isotherm equation with maximum capacity of   Cassava skin active carbon 0.7 mg/g at particle size of adsorbent of 0.3375 mm and reaction time of 105 minutes.
