Abstract

Type of this research is experimental research which aims to determine the effect of problem posing learning on mathematical communication of students prospective mathematics teacher at IKIP Mataram by calculus I module. This module developed by a problem posing approach that meets the criteria of being feasible, practical, and effective. The experimental design used was the type of Quasi Experimental Design and the design used was Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Data collection instruments included tests of mathematical communication skills, student response questionnaires, and lecturer response questionnaires. Based on the results of the hypothesis test analysis obtained a value with a significantlevel  or is . So that  it is rejected and accepted. So it can be concluded that Problem Posing Learning by using problem posing based I calculus module influences student mathematics communication and is effectively used in lectures

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas XA SMA Negeri 1 Batulayar tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 pada materi pokok trigonometri. Strategi PQ4R digunakan untuk membantu siswa mengingat apa yang mereka baca dan penilaian portofolio digunakan sebagai dokumentasi hasil karya siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XA SMA Negeri 1 Batulayar sebanyak 15 siswa. PTK ini dikatakan berhasil apabila terjadi peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa. Kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa dikatakan tuntas apabila secara klasikal minimal 85% siswa mencapai nilai  75. Dari hasil evaluasi pada siklus I dan siklus II untuk nilai rata-rata kelas siswa yang merupakan kemampuan pemahaman konsep pada penelitian ini berturut-turut adalah 69,23 dengan presentasi ketuntasan 61,53% dan 80,23 dengan presentasi ketuntasan 92,30%. Indikator keberhasilan penelitian ini terpenuhi, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi PQ4R dengan penilaian portofolio pada materi pokok trigonometri dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas XA SMA Negeri 1 Batulayar tahun pelajaran 2014/2015.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the use of learning methods Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) on learning outcomes of students' mathematics class VII MTs NW Montong Baan academic year 2014/2015. This type of research is experimental research, form design used was nonequivalent control group design. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 39 students for the experimental class, and 38 students in the control class. Data in this study were drawn by providing initial test and final test to students in grade samples. Data collection techniques using objective tests that have been tested for validity and reliability by the validator. Data were analyzed using t-test. From the result of the calculation, shows that student learning outcomes group teaching methods Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) was higher than the control group, the t test results are known thitung 2,392 and ttabel 1,995 at significant level of 5% by dk = 75 because thitung > t table (2,392> 1,995), the Ha accepted and H0 is rejected, which means learning methods Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) effect on learning outcomes mathematics class VII MTs NW Montong Baan school year 2014/2015.

Abstract

Teachers are professional educators with the primary task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing. train, assess, and evaluate students. Conducting an assessment and evaluation of learners have strategic value because the result can be a material reflection for designing learning mathematics teacher quality. Identify the problem through a questionnaire distributed to students who have carried out Practice Field Experience shows that they still have weaknesses when assessing the understanding of mathematical concepts, procedural knowledge, and problem solving skills. The main obstacle is not available adequate teaching materials for studying these three aspects, necessitating an effort to develop a module for evaluation of learning mathematics courses. The module was developed with the problem solving approach through three stages of adaptation of the model development by Thiagarajan 4D, which define, design and develop. The results of the validation by the two experts of module design are extremely valid with a score of 82.963%, and 91, 852%, and the results of the validation by the two experts of creative content is also very valid with a score of 87.143% and 95.714%. In addition, the result that the use of the modules have an impact on student learning outcomes at tcount = 17.09765>ttable = 2.02439, df = 36, and  = 5%. So we concluded that the evaluation of learning course modules that have been developed have valid, practical, and effectivecriteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was determine the effect of application of lattice multiplication method to overcome the difficulties of completing mathematical multiplication and anxiety operations in grade VIII of SMPN 7 Pujut. The method used in this study was  pre-experimental research method with one group pre and posttest design research design. The sample of this study was representative of students from each class in grade VIII of SMPN 7 Pujut, it was recommended by mathematics teachers because they had difficulty completing multiplication operations, about 20 students. Based on the results of the study, the mean difference in the percentage of the initial results mathematical anxiety questionnaire with the final result was from 56.37% decreased to 42.65%, which were both still in the sufficient category. Furthermore, by testing the hypothesis using the t test (paired sample t test) assisted by SPSS 16.0 obtained data tcount = 0,000 and with a = 5% = 0.05 obtained ttable = 1.729 which means tcount  ttable. These results indicate that there were significant differences between the results of the test before applying the lattice multiplication method (pretest) with the results after the application of the lattice multiplication method (posttest) obtained by students. Thus it can be concluded that there was a rejection of H0 so that Ha is accepted, where Ha reads: there was an effect of the application of lattice multiplication method to overcome the difficulties of completing mathematical multiplication and anxiety operations in grade VIII of SMPN 7 Pujut.

Abstract

The background of this study is the low activity and student achievement in learning mathematics is still one of the causes of low quality education, especially in math. One effort to further streamline the learning of mathematics is to apply the learning model Conceptual Understanding Prosedures (CUPS). The purpose of this research is to improve the activity and student achievement MTs At-Tahzib Kekait VIII class A through learning model Conceptual Understanding Prosedures (CUPS). This research was conducted in MTs At-Tahzib Kekait in class VIII A. The method used was classroom action research. The instrument used in this study is the observation sheet student activities, teacher activity observation sheet, and test evaluation. By applying the learning model Conceptual Understanding Prosedures (CUPS) in mathematics. Activities and student achievement during the learning process is increasing. This fact is shown by the acquisition of an average score of student activity in cycle I and II respectively of 2.55 and 3.16. In addition didikung by an increase in student achievement is increasing. This is evidenced by the average value of the test results of the evaluation cycle I and II is 68.59 with classical completeness of 58.33% and 78.87 with classical completeness of 87.5% in the second cycle. Based on the analysis of data that the application of learning models Conceptual Understanding Prosedures (CUPS) by increasing the activity and student achievement MTs At-Tahzib Kekait VIII grade A academic year 2016/2017.

Abstract

Penyebab rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika sangat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa komponen pembelajaran meliputi guru, siswa, strategi dan media yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Pembelajaran yang digunakan di MTs NW Montong Ba?an masih cendrung berpusat pada guru sebagai sumber belajar, sehingga komunikasi yang terjadi hanya satu arah. Akibatnya pada proses pembelajaran siswa kurang aktif, kurang berminat dan  mudah bosan, siswa cendrung belajar secara mekanistik, interaksi kurang, belajar dengan cara menghafal tanpa memahami makna yang sebenarnya, dan motivasi untuk belajar kurang. Pembelajaran multimedia merupakan komponen system penyampaian pengajaran yang dapat digunakan dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran. Proses pembelajaran yang efektif terletak pada optimalisasi beban kognitif dalam kapasitas memori kerja siswa yang terbatas. Dalam mendesain pembelajaran perlu mempertimbangkan faktor beban kognitif. Pembelajaran yang efektif dapat dicapai dengan mengelola beban kognitif intrinsik, mengurangi beban kognitif asing, dan meningkatkan beban kognitif erat. Semakin banyak pengetahuan yang dapat digunakan secara otomatis dalam proses pembelajaran maka semakin minimum beban kognitif di memori kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran multimedia berdasarkan teori beban kognitif pada materi lingkaran yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa kelas VIII MTs NW Montong Ba?an. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dengan alur yang berulang (siklus), yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran multimedia dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa berorientasi pada beban kognitif dengan siklus I mencapai 70,69 dari 36 siswa dan yang tuntas sebanyak  28 orang atau ketuntasan belajar mencapai 77,77 % dan siklus II mencapai 75,83 dan ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 88,88% dengan kategori aktivitas belajar siswa ?Sangat aktif?.

Abstract

The problems in mathematics needed a madel or appropriate learning methods, one of the models or methods that trains students to ask and answer questions in the learning process is a method of Giving Question and Getting Answers, one method that is expected to improve motivation and learning outcomes students. This study aims to improve motivation and learning outcomes of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 9 Satu Atap Pujut through the application of learning methods Giving Question and Answer Getting the subject matter of the circle in the academic year 2015/2016. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 9 Satu Atap  Pujut central Lombok district. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) by applying the learning method Giving Getting Question and Answer. This study was conducted in two cycles. The results showed an increase in the average value of the evaluation results of students in each cycle is the first cycle the average value of the results of the evaluation study with classical completeness 67.06 75.86% and 74.17% student motivation with high category. While on the second cycle the average value of the results of the evaluation study with classical completeness 73.65 86.20% and 87.13% student motivation with very high category. From the data obtained, it can be concluded that the application of learning methods Giving Question and Answer Getting may improve motivation and learning outcomes of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 9 Satu Atap Pujut the school year 2015/2016.
