Introduction: Facial appearances especially teeth and face are some of the most important things in this era. The symmetry of the dental median line with the facial median line needs to be considered to create a balanced, harmonious, and attractive facial structure, especially when smiling. The position of the maxillary median line to the facial median line is an important factor in orthodontic diagnosis. This research aims to obtain the symmetry of the dental median line with the facial median line during centric occlusion in dentistry students of Mahasaraswati University of Denpasar. Materials and Methods: The type of this research is descriptive with a cross-sectional approach that involved 57 participants. Results and Discussions: The results of this research are the percentage of the students whose dental median line with a facial median line is symmetrical (≤1 mm) was 77% that obtained 44 participants, while the percentage of students who had a dental median line with a facial median line is not symmetrical (> 1 mm) were 23 % that obtained 13 participants with a shift of median line 2 mm in 7 participants, 3 mm in 5 participants, and 5 mm in 1 participant. Conclusion: Based on the results it can be concluded that thedentistry students of Mahasaraswati University of Denpasar whose dental median line with their facial median line was symmetrical is more dominant than those who were not symmetrical.

In recent years, a growing number of Indonesian people perform maintenance on the oral cavity includingperiodontitis if not treated will cause alveolar bone resorption that would lead to bone fractures, tooth loss and the difficulty of post-orthodontic treatment. The main factors that cause periodontitis is bacterial plaque. The bacteria that most contribute to the onset periodontitis is Gram-negative bacteria that will release products including biologically active endotoxin or lipopolysaccharide (LPS) that causes inflammation and induce cellular events in periodontal tissues, especially in the alveolar bone. This stimulation becomes an induced activation function and activity of osteoclasts increased and decreased number of osteoblasts, which in turn will lead to the destruction of the alveolar bone inorganic minerals and alveolar bone resorption. Essential to these problems, the researcher wanted to know more about the decrease the number of osteoblasts in alveolar bone resorption in white male rats (Rattus norvegicus), Sprague Dawley strain induced by LPS. This study is a preliminary study using 6 white male rats Sprague Dawley strain were divided into two groups: control group (normal rats were not induced LPS) and the treatment group (induced by LPS) using Post Test Only Control Group Design. Results showed that the average number of osteoblasts in the treatment group (37 cells per five field of view) is lower than the control group (76 cells per five field of view). This preliminary study concluded that decreased the number of osteoblast in alveolar bone resorption in white male rats Sprague Dawley strain induced by LPS.

ABSTRACT Tooth size determines a person's aesthetics. Some guidelines that can help in determining the size of the maxillary anterior teeth are pre-extraction instructions such as facial photographs, diagnostic models, radiographic photographs, and extracted teeth. If the instructions before extraction are not obtained then an ideal proportionis needed. This study aims to determine whether or not thereis a relationship between the width and high of the face to the mesiodistal and cervico incisal of the maxillary central incisors and what is the proportion of these teeth. This research is a analytic observasional research with design of crosssectional, using samples of 47 subjects from Bali'sTrobe age 17_25 at Facultyof Dentistry in Unmas Denpasar. The resul to research show a significant correlation between face width and high to the size of mesiodistal and servico incisal of the maxillary centralincisorson Bali'sTrobe. The proportion of face and teeth of Balinese belonging to the Mongoloid race was obtain 1 :1,639 and mesiodistal and cervicoincisal of the maxillary central incisors where1 : 1,6409

Introduction: The mandibular movement pattern was used to evaluate the presence of a dysfunction. Impaired TMJ function is called temporomandibular disorder (TMD). One of the causes that are often associated with TMD is a bad habit of chewing one side. This habit is often done without realizing it, causing an imbalance in the distribution of the chewing load and can result in deviation or displacement. The occurrence of TMD can be characterized by limited mouth opening of less than 40 mm. Objective: This study aims to determine the presence of abnormalities in the pattern of mandibular movement in the bad habit of chewing on one side. Methods: The research method used is descriptive observational research with saturated sampling technique with a sample of 25 students of the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahasaraswati University Denpasar, class of 2017. Data collection was carried out by observing through videos of mandibular movement patterns. Results and conclusions: The results showed the pattern of mandibular movement with the habit of chewing on one side, in men who deviated 28%, in women 32%, while in men who did not deviate 12% and in women as much as 28%.

Background: In removable orthodontic treatment, it is also necessary to consider the retention and stability, including the height of the palate. Objective: To determine the description of the palate height in the Balinese people with the measurement method of Camila, et al. Methods: This study used an analytic observational design with a cross sectional approach. The study was conducted in Faculty of Dentistry, Mahasaraswati University Denpasar with purposive sampling technique based on inclusion criteria. The samples were dental students of batch 2017-2019 who are Balinese. Analysis of the data through the stages of nor-mality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, homogeneity test using Levene test, and descriptive test using Mann-Whitney U test. Results: Palatal height index of Balinese males was an average of 38.93±6.27 and females with an average of 35.05±7.10. Based on the comparative test, it was concluded that there was no significant difference in palatal height for males and females.
