Abstract

Abstract

This research proposes an internet of things and long range (LoRa)-based bridge slope status monitoring and warning system that is wireless, low-cost, and user-friendly, with continuous data sent. Bridge inspection officers can easily obtain bridge slope data via a web browser on a cell phone. The design uses Arduino integrated development environment software and an ITGMPU accelerometer sensors, TTGO ESP32, cellphones, successfully identified tilt angle variations from 0.11° to 15.2° were the research's outputs, and and they were continuously transmitted to the bridge inspection officer's mobile phone. Measurements of throughput, quality of service (QoS), and latency characteristics have been made to assess the internet network's performance. The network system performance statistics show an average measured network delay of 1.2 seconds, a throughput of 85 bps, and a QoS of 0%. Consequently, the system performs well and the internet network performance falls into the very good range.

Abstract

The FR-04 sensor is used on a clothesline roof, the research aims to overcome problems with clothesline when it rains it gets wet. This system functions to prevent the clothesline from getting wet by rain. This system moves to close and open the clothesline roof. The clothesline roof system will move to open or cover the clothesline, according to the input conditions of the light sensor (LDR) and rain sensor. The FR-04 sensor detects the presence of water droplets on the surface, then the Servo (as the driving force for the clothesline) will rotate 1800 Clockwise (clockwise and buzzer on. The results of the FR-04 Sensor system functioned very well to detect the presence of water droplets on the surface, and the system managed to close and open the clothesline roof by rotating 1800.

Abstract

Cigarette smoke contains toxic chemicals such as carbon monoxide (CO), nicotine and tar. The dangerous/poisonous ingredients in cigarettes cause health problems for those who smoke (active smokers) or those who don't smoke (passive smokers). To avoid the accumulation of cigarette smoke in the room, this research was created and carried out to detect cigarette smoke and reduce the levels of cigarette smoke in the room. Fan. will emit cigarette smoke into the room. The results of the detection of cigarette smoke levels will be sent to Labtop. This system was built using an MQ-2 sensor, ESP8266 microcontroller. The implementation of the cigarette smoke detection system is installed in 3 different rooms/places and is accessed by Internet of Things (IoT) network users. The research results show that every room where this system is installed will send data from cigarette smoke detection results to the lab. The MQ-2 sensor detects cigarette smoke, the data is sent to the internet network via the ESP8266, the data will be displayed on the laptop. From the sample test the tool responded well. This system will activate the fan at certain levels of cigarette smoke to reduce the level of cigarette smoke in the room. When the level is 0 ppm with the Green LED indicator on, the fan is not working or OFF. When the level shows 7 ppm the LED indicator lights up yellow and the fan will turn ON. For the red LED, the cigarette smoke level displayed is 32 ppm with the fan ON. These results prove that the system is functioning properly, detecting and controlling the operation of the fan to remove cigarette smoke from the room and transmit data to the internet network.

Abstract

Pigeon Pea (Casanus Cajan L.) is one of the local foods in South Sulawesi. Pigeon pea seeds contain protein that the body can absorb. This study aims to determine the optimum operating conditions for extracting pigeon pea on protein and yield using Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction (UAE). Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with Box-Behnken Design (BBD) was used by considering three variables, time (30, 40, and 50 min), temperature (40, 50, and 60oC), and methanol concentration (50, 70, and 90%). The experiment results show that yield ranges from 8.85663% to 31.4766% and 46.1538 mg/l to 15584.6 mg/l. Response variables were computed and used to create the contour plot graphs. The optimum operating conditions for sonication extraction were a time of 44.760 minutes, a temperature of 60oC, and a 90% methanol concentration.
