Abstract

Amal Baru Beach is one of the tourist beaches on Tarakan Island; where for the last ten years, this beach has experienced a change in the function of its coastal area, which has become a seaweed cultivation area. These cause changes to the coastline and the area of the indicative area on the beach, besides being influenced by the characteristics of the waves that occur. Based on this, in this study, a study was conducted to determine the level of change in the coastline by applying the spatial analysis method of satellite imagery. The shoreline change rate is determined based on the LRR (Linear Regression Rate) method, which is applied to 25 sections within three years of changing satellite image samples. Based on the study conducted, it was found that there was severe damage to the coastline of 66.67% and 33.33% experienced moderate damage, with a rate of change of the coastline for a severe level of 2-5 m/year. In addition, the coastal area has also experienced a reduction in area, namely at a rate of reduction per year of 0,297 ha/year, with 72% damage caused by abrasion events. Based on the level of damage that occurred, it is necessary to protect the beach by constructing coastal protection structures. The recommendations for the types of coastal buildings given are Groynes and Detached Breakwater, which will be studied in further research.

Abstract

The problems of passenger transportation (TAP) in Tarakan City are multi-dimensional, such as, fares and routes that are less organized and uneven, inconvenience and less secure, excess passengers during peak hours and vice versa, condition of operator systems, increased pollution and noise and the number of accidents and traffic violations, and driver behavior. In short, the root of the problem is the incompatibility between the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) for the city of Tarakan and the TAP. This study aims to assess the performance of passenger transportation based on descriptive statistical methods to: see the demand for population movement; route performance and transport operations; and the performance of transportation infrastructure, as well as the level of road service in the form of the ratio of volume per road segment capacity. The results achieved found that the existing performance of TAP in Tarakan City was relatively not optimal, the level of main road service on secondary roads because the increase in vehicle volume was significantly influenced by the high population movement, land use, level of transportation service, transportation comfort, load factor, and road conditions.

Abstract

Tana Tidung Regency as a new autonomous region in North Kalimantan in 2007 resulted in increased interactions between regions in support of the supply of food, and other social needs. Tarakan City is an essential region supporting the Tana Tidung Regency. Currently, public the primary transportation from the Tarakan-Tana Tidung is served by two modes of transportation; Ferry Boats and Wooden Boats. Researchers conducted a study to identify the trends and variables that affect the choice of Tarakan-Tana Tidung freight routes to enhance the performance of primary public transportation. Study used variable freight costs per coli, travel time, the timetable for departure, service convenience, and travel time to the Port of Tengkayu 1 or Juata Ferry Port adapted from the study of transportation mode selection by travelling persons. The survey, in the form of a questionnaire to 170 respondents, used the stated preference method and was conducted with multiple regression analysis to obtain the quantitative relationship between a collection of research variables and respondents to obtain utility and probability by modelling the binomial logit. The research results showed that the discrepancy between the Ferry Boats and Wooden Boats was in balance, with 65% of the patrons choosing the Wooden Boat to support the freight activities. All research variables have been influential in the choice of goods transport mode in the most dominant order, namely goods transportation cost per coli variables, travel time, the timetable for departure, service convenience, and travel time to port.

Abstract

Tarakan is home to the main seaport that serves all districts in North Kalimantan. Tana Tidung Regency is one of the regencies that serve the Tarakan feeder port route. This is supported by the presence of a Sesayap River network. To provide comfort to service users, the high demand for ferry transportation services must be balanced with adequate speedboat service facilities. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews to determine the level of satisfaction of service users and the attributes that are a priority in improving the performance of speedboat services. The data collection results were analyzed using Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) dan Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) methods. Then, to follow up on the results of the IPA dan CSI analysis, the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method was used, a technique used to identify priorities for performance management based on the needs and desires of service users. Based on the results of the IPA analysis, three attributes were obtained as the top priority to require handling/improving their performance; the availability of fire extinguishers, the availability of information on speedboat travel disturbances, and the availability of boarding and alighting facilities for passengers with special needs, children, and pregnant women. The result of the CSI analysis obtained a service user satisfaction index of 63.379 which indicated that the service performance perceived by service users was decreased within the “Quite Satisfied” criteria. While the results of the QFD analysis obtained a priority sequence for improving/handling speedboat performance which was offloading the passengers by being carried out or stretchered, and access was categorized as the first priority, the second and third priorities were the availability of communication tools that were readily used by the captain and crew in the speedboat and notifications in the form of messanges to prospective passengers related to changes in departure schedules, and the last priority was the placement of APARs at 3 points, which was near from the diver or captain, passenger room, and the speedboat engine area.

Abstract

Tarakan City, which is connected to Tanjung Selor by a speedboat, is one of the cities with access to maritime transportation. One form of improving speedboat services is by reviewing fares according to the ability and willingness to pay of the people. This study’s objective was to determine the fare by taking passengers willingness and ability to pay into account. The research’s methodology is based on analyses of vehicle operational costs (BOK), ability to pay (ATP), and willingness to pay (WTP). The research result, average values for the BOK, ATP, and WTP were IDR 182.386,96, IDR 165.128,25, and IDR 126.735,00, respectively. According to the ATP and WTP values, passengers had a higher ability to pay than they were willing to spend. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the current pricing and improve the services.

Abstract

Jalan merupakan salah satu media transportasi penting bagi masyarakat Kota Tarakan. Jalan menyediakan aksesibilitas untuk meningkatkan perekonomian dan kegiatan sosial, selain menjaga kesinambungan distribusi barang dan jasa. Kinerja jalan sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi perkerasan jalan. Banyak jalan mengalami kerusakan sebelum masa layannya selesai. Oleh sebab itu, identifikasi terhadap kerusakan jalan sangatlah penting untuk dilakukan. Pada perkembangan teknologi saat ini, identifikasi kerusakan jalan dapat dilakukan dengan penerapan teknologi UAV-Quadcopters. UAV atau SPUKTA merupakan pesawat tanpa awak yang mampu memberikan informasi visual dari objek di permukaan bumi. Salah satu tipe UAV adalah Quadcopters atau Drone dengan empat baling-baling. UAV dapat diterbangkan pada beberapa ketinggian yang akan berpengaruh pada resolusi hasil foto udara. Resolusi yang tinggi akan memudahkan proses interpretasi dari kerusakan jalan. Oleh sebab itu, pada penelitian ini dilakukan studi terkait identifikasi dan klasifikasi kerusakan jalan dengan parameter perubahan tinggi terbang UAV. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permukaan jalan pada objek penelitian telah mengalami kerusakan sebesar 1,67% dari luas permukaan jalan, dengan tingkat akurasi identifikasi dari klasifikasi kerusakan jalan sebesar 90%. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dinyatakan bahwa teknologi UAV dapat digunakan untuk melakukan identifikasi dari kerusakan permukaan jalan.

Abstract

The development of technology, there are now various modes of transportation that serve the community such as public transportation on routes and special rental transportation (online). The operation of online-based special rental transportation in Tarakan City lately has had the impact of decreasing customer interest in using public transportation to support their movements. This phenomenon is interesting to do research to find out the best type of public transport and variables that are very influential in the selection of public transport by travelers in Tarakan City. This public transport selection research was analyzed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process method, with research attributes including: cost, safety, comfort, ease of getting the mode, travel time, and service. Primary data was obtained through interviews/questionnaires to respondents selected by simple random sampling method, with a total of 100 people as a representation of the population of Tarakan city in 2021. The results of the analysis show that the public transport mode chosen by customers based on the specified criteria is Special Rental Transport with an average value of 5.965 compared to Public Transport in Tracks (5.711). The influential criteria for customers in choosing public transportation is the cost criteria with a weight value of 36.479, followed by the criteria for ease of getting the mode (14.591), security (12.906), service (12.706), comfort (12.177), and service time criteria with a value of 11.16.

Abstract

The beach is an area on the edge of the sea which experiences the influence of sea water fluctuations. Between the coast and the mainland separated by an imaginary line called the coastline. One of the problems on the coast is the decline of the coastline (Abrasion) and the progress of the costline (Accretion). Beaches that must be protected from the phenomenon of Abrasion and Accretion needs to be identified first to find out how far the changes have occurred in the coastline. The beach which is the object of this study is the beach on the north side of Tarakan Island. Identification was carried out by applying the DSAS Method (Digital Shoreline Analysis System) with change analysis using the LRR Method (Linear Regression Rate) and RMSE Method (Root Mean Square Error) while the mold delineation coastline based on Landsat satellite imagery in 1988, 1990, 2010, 2016, 2022, and 2023. The results of studies conducted in this study indicate that there has been a decline in the coastline with an average rate of change of 2,16 Meter/year and is predicted to increase backward an average of 0,74 Meter/year in 2033 for sandy beach areas. While in other areas there is progress of the coastline which is estimated to have a rate increase of an average of 2,40 Meter/year for Mangrove vegetation areas and an average of 0,19 Meter/year for community residential areas in 2033.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study aims to assess the condition of the road pavement using the Bina Marga method. The condition of the road pavement examined includes the type and level of damage so that the value of the condition of the road pavement and alternatives for handling the road damage can be identified. The research location is the Kenanga road section which is a secondary collector road located in a densely populated residential area in Karang Anyar Village, Tarakan City, which functions as an alternative axis road connecting the West Tarakan District and Central Tarakan District, North Kalimantan Province. This Bina Marga method examines the volume of traffic and the type of damage that occurs on the road pavement. The results of the road pavement condition assessment are then used as a reference and selection of alternative road damage repairs. The results showed that the road damage found on the Kenanga road section was potholes, depression, patching end utility cut patching, and polished aggregate, then the results of the analysis used the Bina Marga method. a score of 10 is obtained for the right side and a value of 11 for the left side which means that the road section needs to be repaired in the drainage system component by including it in the periodic maintenance program. Kondisi perkerasan jalan yang diperiksa meliputi jenis dan tingkat kerusakan sehingga dapat diketahui nilai kondisi perkerasan jalan dan alternatif penanganan kerusakan jalan tersebut. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan pada ruas jalan Kenanga yang merupakan jalan kolekter sekunder yang berada pada kawasan permukiman padat penduduk di Kelurahan Karang Anyar Kota Tarakan, berfungsi sebagai jalan poros alternatif menghubungkan wilayah Kecamatan Tarakan Barat dan Kecamatan Tarakan Tengah Provinsi Kalimantan Utara. Metode Bina Marga ini meninjau volume lalu lintas serta jenis kerusakan yang terjadi pada perkerasan jalan. Hasil penilaian kondisi perkerasan jalan selanjutnya digunakan sebagai acuan dan pemilihan alternatif perbaikan kerusakan jalan tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kerusakan jalan yang ditemukan  pada ruas jalan Kenanga adalah kerusakan lubang (potholes), kerusakan amblas (Depression), kerusakan tambalan (Patching end Utility Cut Patching), dan kerusakan pengausan agregat (polised agregat), selanjutnya hasil analisa dengan metode Bina Marga diperoleh nilai 10 untuk sisi kanan dan nilai 11 untuk sisi kiri yang berarti bahwa ruas jalan tersebut perlu dilakukan perbaikan-perbaikan pada komponen sistim drainase dengan memasukan kedalam program pemeliharaan berkala.Kata kunci: Metode Bina Marga, Kerusakan Jalan, Penanganan Kerusakan Jalan

Abstract

Amal Baru beach is one of the beaches affected by the erosion phenomenon on Tarakan Island. The phenomenon of abrasion that occurs on this beach is 72% and accretion is 28%, with conditions that change the coastline due to abrasion of 2.59 m/year. The main trigger for the abrasion phenomenon on this beach is the characteristics of the destructive waves that occur on the shoreline. One of the solutions for erosion control is to construct coastal protection structures, such as Groin. In this study, a study was conducted to deal with abrasion problems on the beach by providing alternative Groin structural designs. All data used in this study is secondary data and is representative as data for the design of the Groin structure, which is planned for the next 50 years. The results of the studies conducted provide an alternative number of Groin structures of 5 units with a length of 95 meters and a distance between Groin of 100 meters. The recomended structure is a slooping side building with the main armor layer being tetrapod, with a grain weight of 0.50 tons for the arm structure and 1.00 tons for the structure at the head end of the Groin.
