Abstract

Background: Cataract surgery is a surgery for cataract patients. This surgery has some complications, such as the occurrence of dry eyes syndrome. There are two techniques of cataract surgery; they are Phacoemulsification and SISC with different type of incision. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the types of cataract incision with the incidence of dry eyes syndrome. Methods: This study used descriptive correlation design with cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with consecutive sampling technique. The total sample used in this study were 78 respondents, in which 51 respondents had undergone Phacoemulsification incision and 27 respondents had undergone SICS incision. The data collection tool used was the OSDI questionnaires. Results: 10 respondents who had the SISC and 5 respondents who had the Phacoemulsification experienced dry eyes syndrome. The result of Chi Square test showed that p-value was 0.009; which means there was a significant relationship between the types of cataract incision with the incidence of dry eyes syndrome. Conclusion: The types of cataract incision had a significant relationship to the occurrence of dry eyes syndrome. Therefore, nurses are expected to be able to provide care and give CIE (communication, information, and education) to reduce the complications. Keywords: cataract, dry eyes syndrome, type of incision

Digitization affects various aspects of life, including the health sector, especially leadership communication which influences work motivation and nurse performance which is visible during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this literature review is to identify digitalization in leadership communication, work motivation, and performance of nurses or employees. Design: This research design is a literature review. Data Sources: Search for articles using four journal databases, namely OWL (Online Wiley Library), Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct. Review Methods: Used PRISMA Flow Diagram to find a total of 11 articles that met the inclusion criteria were reviewed. Results and conclusion: The results of the review of the article entitled "Digitalization of Leadership Communication, Work Motivation, and Nurse Performance" found that the digitalization process in leadership communication is fairly difficult. Leaders must be able to use various types of digital communication media in communicating with staff or nurses. When leading transformational digital change, leaders strive for constant communication and coaching-oriented actions. Leaders who can be able to transform well in digitalization will be able to provide good work motivation for staff or nurses. Effective work motivation in the digitalization of leader communication will impact good nurse performance as shown by nurses coming on time, providing fast service, adhering to standards, and making a solid team

Abstract

Introduction: Suboptimal discharge planning is a global issue that contributes to high patient readmission rates and increases the burden on healthcare systems. Effective discharge planning is essential to ensure the continuity of patient care after leaving the hospital, including follow-up care and maintaining the patient's health status. The purpose of this literature review is to identify the factors affecting the implementation of discharge planning by nurses in inpatient wards. Methods: This study employed a literature review design. Articles were selected according to the PRISMA guidelines. Inclusion criteria were established to ensure the selection of eligible articles: publications between 2017 and 2024, written in English or Indonesian. The literature review was conducted using three journal databases: ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Keywords were adjusted to align with the Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) terms, including “influencing factors,” “discharge planning,” “discharge planning implementation by nurses,” and “hospitalization room.” Results: A total of 17 articles were reviewed. Overall, eight factors were identified as influencing the implementation of discharge planning by nurses in inpatient wards. These factors include knowledge, attitude, motivation, personnel, involvement and participation, communication, time, and agreements and consensus. Conclusion: The factors influencing the implementation of discharge planning include medical staff, involvement and participation, communication, time, agreements, consensus, knowledge, attitude, and motivation. These factors are interconnected and significantly impact the quality of discharge planning, ultimately affecting patient satisfaction and health outcomes after discharge.

Abstract

Human Development Cadres have a strategic role in supporting the long-term care of stunted children in the community. However, suboptimal perceptions, self-efficacy, and readiness of cadres often become obstacles in carrying out the duties of human development cadres. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a home visit-based training program on the perceptions, self-efficacy and readiness of Human Development Cadres in the long-term care of children with stunting. This study used a pre-experimental design with pretest-posttest one group only on 30 Human Development Cadres in the Puskesmas of Kintamani III (March-September 2024). The home visit-based training program included material on stunting, nutrition, health, and community empowerment. Perceptions, self-efficacy, and readiness of Human Development Cadres were measured before and after the intervention using instruments developed based on the detailed tasks of Human Development Cadres. Paired t-test was used to analyze the data. The results showed significant differences in perception, self-efficacy, and readiness (p0,001). The home visit-based training program has a significant effect on improving perceptions, self-efficacy and readiness of Human Development Cadres in the long-term care of children with stunting. The home visit-based training program needs to be part of routine interventions in empowering Human Development Cadres, especially to support the long-term care of children with stunting.
