Abstract

Children’s future is determined by the children growth. Early detection of child development is carried out through careful monitoring of motor development, cognitive development and psychosocial development. Many factors can influence a child in carrying out his developmental tasks. This study aims to prove the duration of parents interaction as factors related to the possibility of deviation in the development of children aged 1-3 years in South Denpasar District. This study used a cross-sectional design. The technique for selecting the research location was done by multi-stage. The sample in this study was selected by using a saturated sample with 118 children in child care centers in South Denpasar District. Data collection was carried out by interviewing and filling out a questionnaire, using the development pre-screening questionnaire (KPSP). Data were analyzed by using chi-square test and logistic regression. There were 82.2% of children experienced appropriate development and 17.8% of children indicated that there was a possibility of developmental deviations. The results of bivariate and multivariate analysis showed that there were 3 variables that were significantly related to the possibility of deviations in child development, namely child care (AOR = 5,517; 95% CI: 1.13-26.84), length of interaction between parents (AOR = 4,160; 95% CI: 1.22-14.11), and the age of the child (A OR = 4.242; 95% CI: 1.47-12.18). Other variables such as gender, parents’ educational background, parents’ job and parents’ salary are not related to the possibility of deviations in child development. The duration of interaction and the child's age correlate to children developmental deviations. g of motor development, cognitive development and psychosocial development. Abstract

Human Development Cadres have a strategic role in supporting the long-term care of stunted children in the community. However, suboptimal perceptions, self-efficacy, and readiness of cadres often become obstacles in carrying out the duties of human development cadres. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a home visit-based training program on the perceptions, self-efficacy and readiness of Human Development Cadres in the long-term care of children with stunting. This study used a pre-experimental design with pretest-posttest one group only on 30 Human Development Cadres in the Puskesmas of Kintamani III (March-September 2024). The home visit-based training program included material on stunting, nutrition, health, and community empowerment. Perceptions, self-efficacy, and readiness of Human Development Cadres were measured before and after the intervention using instruments developed based on the detailed tasks of Human Development Cadres. Paired t-test was used to analyze the data. The results showed significant differences in perception, self-efficacy, and readiness (p0,001). The home visit-based training program has a significant effect on improving perceptions, self-efficacy and readiness of Human Development Cadres in the long-term care of children with stunting. The home visit-based training program needs to be part of routine interventions in empowering Human Development Cadres, especially to support the long-term care of children with stunting.

Abstract

Background: Advancing age is often accompanied by physical decline in the elderly, including impaired balance. One of the most serious consequences of this impairment is the risk of falling. Diabetes mellitus is suspected to be a contributing factor to postural imbalance in older adults. Objective: This study aims to analyze postural balance among elderly individuals with diabetes mellitus at the Geriatric Polyclinic, Level II Udayana Hospital.Method: This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design and involved 94 elderly patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus at the Geriatric Polyclinic of Level II Udayana Hospital, Denpasar. Data were collected through direct observation using the Berg Balance Scale to assess postural balance. Descriptive univariate analysis was used for data interpretation. Results: Demographically, 68 respondents (72.34%) were aged 60–74, 54 (57.45%) were male, and 38 (40.42%) had completed senior high school. A majority, 62 respondents (65.96%), had lived with diabetes for more than five years. In terms of balance, 60 respondents (63.83%) were classified as independent, while 32 (34.04%) required walking assistance. The mean Berg Balance Scale score was 31.3, indicating the need for walking assistance. Conclusion: Elderly individuals with diabetes mellitus are at increased risk of postural imbalance due to aging and disease-related factors. These findings highlight the importance of early detection and may inform the development of targeted fall-prevention interventions for this population. Keywords: Elderly; Postural Balance; Diabetes Mellitus; Postural Imbalance; Berg Balance Scale.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is a crucial aspect in the performance of health workers, especially nurses, because it affects the quality of service and work outcomes. Nurses who feel job satisfaction tend to provide optimal service according to their competence. This study aims to identify factors associated to nurses' job satisfaction and determine the most influential variables in Tabanan Regency Hospital. This study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 172 nurses selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using a standardized questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Analysis was conducted univariately, bivariately using the Chi-square test, and multivariately with binary logistic regression. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between work motivation (p=0.009) and reward system (p=0.033) with job satisfaction. Multivariate analysis identified work motivation as the dominant factor with odds ratio (OR) of 4.424 (95% CI: 1.309–14.952). Work motivation was shown to be a major determinant of nurse’ job satisfaction. Managerial interventions that focus on improving internal and external motivation are expected to increase nurses' job satisfaction, which in turn has a positive impact on the quality of nursing services.
