Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study explores the development strategy of Jamur Borobudur, a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) engaged in oyster mushroom cultivation and agro-education in the Borobudur area, Magelang, Indonesia. As the popularity of agrotourism increases, Jamur Borobudur has transitioned from a traditional farming operation to an agro-educational site offering visitors insights into mushroom cultivation. This transformation aims to enhance business sustainability and capitalize on its strategic location near Borobudur Temple, a key tourist destination. A SWOT analysis was employed to assess internal and external factors impacting the enterprise’s growth. Key strategies identified include strengthening partnerships with local businesses, increasing production efficiency through modern techniques, and expanding digital marketing efforts. The novelty of this study lies in its emphasis on integrating mushroom farming with agro-educational tourism, providing a unique business model that enhances both economic resilience and environmental awareness. Keywords: oyster mushroom; agro-education; agrotourism; SWOT analysis; borobudurABSTRAKPenelitian ini mengkaji strategi pengembangan UMKM Jamur Borobudur, sebuah usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) yang bergerak di bidang budidaya jamur tiram dan agro-edukasi di kawasan Borobudur, Magelang, Indonesia. Seiring dengan meningkatnya popularitas agrowisata, Jamur Borobudur telah bertransformasi dari usaha pertanian tradisional menjadi wahana agro-edukasi yang memberikan wawasan kepada pengunjung tentang budidaya jamur. Transformasi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keberlanjutan usaha dan memanfaatkan lokasinya yang strategis dekat Candi Borobudur, salah satu destinasi wisata utama. Analisis SWOT digunakan untuk menilai faktor internal dan eksternal yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan usaha. Strategi kunci yang diidentifikasi meliputi penguatan kemitraan dengan bisnis lokal, peningkatan efisiensi produksi melalui teknik modern, dan perluasan pemasaran digital. Unsur kebaruan dari penelitian ini terletak pada penekanan integrasi antara budidaya jamur dan wisata agro-edukasi, yang memberikan model bisnis unik untuk meningkatkan ketahanan ekonomi dan kesadaran lingkungan. Kata Kunci: jamur tiram; agro-edukasi; agrowisata; analisis SWOT; borobudur

Abstract

Farmers living around the forest face various economic vulnerability issues. This community service activity seeks to implement circular economy practices through training in producing liquid organic fertilizer using rabbit urine as a raw material. This initiative encourages communities to utilize waste from rabbit husbandry activities to create economically valuable products. Through a participatory approach, the community enthusiastically participates in these activities. Based on the results of the analysis, this training effectively enhances the community's knowledge regarding the production of liquid organic fertilizer from rabbit urine. The sustainable implementation of this initiative is expected to provide additional economic benefits to the community while addressing environmental issues arising from unused rabbit husbandry waste. Moreover, applying liquid organic fertilizer derived from rabbit urine on crops cultivated by farmers represents an initial step towards practicing sustainable integrated farming concepts.

Abstract

Masyarakat sekitar hutan di Desa Kemutug Lor, Kabupaten Banyumas menghadapi berbagai isu kerentanan ekonomi karena keterbatasan kapasitas mereka dalam mengelola dan memanfaatkan berbagai potensi yang ada. Salah satu potensi ekonomi potensial yang dapat dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan ketahanan ekonomi masyarakat sekitar hutan di Desa Kemutug Lor adalah pengembangan budidaya kelinci. Sebagai bagian dari aktivitas tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diarahkan pada upaya peningkatan keterampilan dan kapasitas masyarakat dalam mengelola kotoran ternak kelinci menjadi pupuk organik yang bernilai ekonomi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah partisipatif. Mulai dari tahap perencanaan kegiatan sampai dengan pelaksanaan dan evaluasi kegiatan, masyarakat sudah terlibat secara aktif. Kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik berbahan baku feses dan urine kelinci berjalan dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil perbandingan nilai pre-test dan post-test terdapat peningkatan nilai yang cukup signifikan, sehingga dapat diartikan bahwa masyarakat yang mengikuti pelatihan dapat menangkap dan memahami materi yang diberikan. Dalam jangka panjang, kegiatan pengolahan kotoran kelinci menjadi pupuk organik diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif secara sosial, ekonomi dan lingkungan bagi masyarakat sekitar hutan di Desa Kemutug Lor, khususnya ditinjau dari potensi diversifikasi penghasilan, pengurangan biaya produksi pertanian, dan peningkatan kesuburan serta produktivitas tanah.

Abstract

Used cooking oil is a household waste that has not yet been optimally managed, potentially leading toeconomic losses and environmental pollution. This study aims to analyze the behavior of housewives inBanyumas District in utilizing used cooking oil, identify the potential for developing biodiesel from usedcooking oil, and formulate strategies and roles for relevant stakeholders to optimize used cooking oilmanagement. The methodology employed in this research is mixed-method, utilizing primary data fromsurveys and secondary data from various related studies and publications. The analysis reveals that mosthousewives in Banyumas directly dispose of used cooking oil without prior processing. Adopting a circulareconomy approach in converting used cooking oil into biodiesel can prevent pollution and provide asustainable alternative energy source. This practice can also raise public awareness about environmentalpreservation, promote responsible consumption, and create additional income and green jobs.Implementing this policy requires collaboration from various stakeholders, including the government,academics, business actors, the community, and the media
