Abstract

Introduction: Anemia in adolescents can cause decreased concentration in learning, often feel tired, easily sleepy and decreased endurance. Hemoglobin levels are influenced by the adequacy of iron in the body and protein content. Low protein consumption in daily food so that it does not meet the body's nutritional adequacy. Protein is a component of hemoglobin and plays an important role in transporting oxygen and nutrients. One of the triggers for anemia is an abnormal menstrual cycle. Losing a lot of blood during menstruation is thought to cause anemia (Pada et al., 2024). Objective: To determine the relationship between menstrual patterns and hemoglobin levels in female adolescents at SMA Negeri 3 Bondowoso. Method: The type of research is a correlational analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all female adolescents at SMA Negeri 3 Bondowoso, totaling 159 female students. The number of samples was obtained from the Slovin formula, namely 61 respondents, using the nonprobability sampling method with simple random sampling. Univariate analysis with frequency distribution, and bivariate analysis using the chi square test. The instrument in this study adopted the menstrual pattern questionnaire from Sunirah (2024) and the Easy Touch tool on hemoglobin levels. Results: Most respondents had normal menstrual patterns as many as 36 (59.0%), almost half had abnormal menstrual patterns as many as 25 (41.0%), and most respondents had normal hemoglobin levels as many as 38 (62.3%), almost half of the respondents had low hemoglobin levels as many as 23 (37.7%). From the chi-Square analysis, it was obtained p value (0.001) <α (0.05) meaning Ha was accepted, namely there was a positive relationship with a contingency coefficient value of 0.412 which means a moderate relationship. Conclusion: There is a relationship between menstrual patterns and hemoglobin levels in female adolescents at SMA Negeri 3 Bondowoso. Suggestion: It is hoped that female adolescents will be willing to consume blood-boosting tablets during menstruation, in order to avoid anemia which can interfere with their concentration in learning. And consume foods that can prevent anemia such as beef, liver, nuts and vegetables.

Abstract

Introduction: Cervical cancer ranks second as the most cancer cases in women. This is due to ineffective early detection programs. Early detection of cervical cancer that can be done is the VIA test, but women's involvement is still minimal. This is because Health Belief in cervical cancer and VIA tests are lacking so that women don’t feel vulnerable and threatened to cervical cancer, don’t feel cervical cancer as a severe disease, don’t know the benefits of IVA tests and don’t feel able to do. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between HBM and the behavior of VIA test examination. Methods: This type of research was correlational with a cross sectional approach. The study population was women of childbearing age. Samples of 51 people were taken using the purposive sampling method. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The results of the study were analyzed with the Spearman test. Results: The Health Belief Model among respondents was almost entirely in the moderate category (78.4%). Behavioral VIA test examination was mostly in the positive behavior category (70.6%). There is a relationship between the HBM and VIA test behavior with p value = 0.011 (p value ˂ α (0.05)). Conclusions: Based on the study results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship of Health Belief Model with VIA Test Behavior in Women of Childbearing Age.

Abstract

Introduction. Early detection of cervical cancer is an effort to examine the condition of the cervix as early as possible by conducting an IVA (Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid) test, especially women who have been actively having sex. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of health education peer group model on IVA test examination attitudes in women of childbearing age in Klayu, Tegalwaru, Jember. This research design is pre-experiment design using One Group Pretest and Posttest design. Methods: The population in this study amounted to 110 respondents. With a sample of 86 respondents using probability sampling techniques by means of cluster random sampling. Statistical test using Fisher's Exact Test. Result: The results of the attitudes of women of childbearing age before being given the health education peer group model showed negative attitude categories as much as (73.3%) and positive attitudes as much as (26.7%). The attitude of women of childbearing age after being given a health education peer group model experienced a change in attitude, in the positive category as much as (97.7%) and negative attitudes (2.3%). Statistical tests using SPSS 24 Fisher Exact Test obtained p-value results of 0.025 <(0.05). Conclusions: With the health education peer group model can improve the attitude of women of childbearing age towards IVA test examination. The occurrence of changes in women of childbearing age to IVA test examination is because women of childbearing age already know and understand the purpose and benefits of IVA test examination which is explained through the peer group model.
