Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of protection motivation theory (PMT)-based intentions on nursing care documentation compliance behavior. In this research, motivation that influences behavior is described by intention, which is an indication of how strongly someone wants to carry out a behavior. The method used in literature searches uses four databases, namely Google Scholar, PubMed, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect. Search for articles or journals using keywords and Boolean operators. The research results show that the most applicable benchmark for individual behavioral motivation in protection motivation theory is intention. The research conclusions illustrate that there is an intention showing a person's willingness to try to carry out behavior in accordance with applicable orders or policies. If the individual understands the risk of non-compliance in filling out nursing care documentation, then the individual will have the motivation to protect themselves (protection motivation) in the form of a desire to carry out documentation in accordance with the policy procedures that apply at the hospital. Abstract

Non-adherence in hypertensive patients is a serious challenge faced by health workers. The motivational interviewing (MI) is a patient-centered intervention and has been shown to change a person's compliance. The aim of this review is to investigate the impact of MI on adherence in hypertensive patients. This review was conducted on four databases, PubMed, Cinahl, Web of Science (WOS), and Scopus. Only randomized controlled trial (RCT) articles were used in this review, the quality assessment of the articles used the JBI critical appraisal tools, the selection and extraction of articles referred to the PRISMA guidelines. There were 5 articles that met the inclusion criteria. MI is applied with 2 methods, conventional and non-conventional. 2 articles showed an increase in medication adherence, 1 article showed adherence to dietary and physical activity recommendations, 1 article showed a change in smoking consumption patterns, and 4 articles showed a decrease in blood pressure in post-intervention hypertensive patients. MI can be an effective option in terms of improving hypertension adherence in the future. Although the evidence is currently validated, more research is needed to explore the evidence for the effectiveness of the combined MI method.

Abstract

Perceptors need to be proficient in clinical teaching and assessment in reaching learning objectives while handling client caseload and delivering safe and efficient care. However, evidence to inform best practices for mentor development is limited, as is evidence regarding the efficacy of programs for the mentor role. This study aims to analyse interventions to improve preceptor performance on nursing student competencies. Methods: This study employs a systematic review, with study literature gathered from multiple electronic databases, including Pubmed, Science Direct, ProQuest, and SAGE using a PRISMA flow guidline. Data was collected by searching for research for 2019-2024 and searches were conducted until March 4, 2024. The keywords used are "Intervention" "Improve" "Preceptor" "Student Nursing Performance". Eligible studies require the use of quasi-experiments to identify interventions to improve preceptor performance in the competence of nursing students in different data base sources. Results: A total of 12 articles were analyzed because they provide information about interventions to improve preceptor performance in the competence of nursing students. Five articles on Randomized Controlled Trials, 7 articles using Quasi-experimental design. This article recommends an intervention clinical teaching on One Minute Preceptor because it is effective and can be used in a limited time. Conclusions: Overall, research shows that nursing education should improve recent graduates' readiness to achieve competence. Nurse educators should facilitate comprehensive assistance in order to enable students to acclimatise to the nursing profession’s culture before beginning their clinical education.

Abstract

Background: Emergency units rely on nurses' rapid response times to manage critical situations effectively. Overcrowding and inadequate triage skills often compromise patient outcomes. Gap: Limited evidence exists on the most effective interventions to improve emergency nurses' response times. Aim: This systematic review evaluates evidence-based interventions for enhancing response times in emergency nurses. Results: From 15 studies, effective interventions include simulation-based education, triage training (e.g., Emergency Severity Index, Swiss Triage System), virtual simulations, and hands-on basic life support (BLS) training. BLS and triage training most significantly improve response times by prioritizing patient severity and enhancing emergency handling. Novelty: This review integrates global evidence, highlighting the combined impact of simulation-based and triage training programs. Implications: Healthcare systems should adopt tailored interventions, such as BLS simulations and triage training, to optimize emergency department efficiency and patient outcomes. Highlights: Critical Interventions: Simulation-based education and BLS training are the most effective in enhancing nurses' emergency response times. Global Evidence: Findings from 15 studies highlight diverse strategies, including virtual simulations and triage systems, for improving efficiency.
