Abstract

The Productivity of Indonesian researchers is still considered low at the international level. The researcher productivity is measured through the amount of scientific papers published. This study aimed to prove some factors affecting the research productivity. Specifically, this study aimed to empirically examine the effect of researcher characteristics, subjective well-being, knowledge sharing, and research competence on research productivity. With stratified proportional random sampling technique we obtained a sample of 100 researchers in Office of Research and Development and Training scattered in central and local units. Data were collected using questionnaires to measure research productivity, subjective well-being, knowledge sharing, and research competence. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentiallly. We used analysis of variance (ANOVA) and path analysis which were processed with SPSS 16 and LISREL 8.80 (Student) for the inferential analysis. The results of ANOVA concluded that the productivity did not differ significantly by gender. However there were significant differences in the research productivity based on the academic qualification and the functional job of researchers. The results of path analysis concluded that subjective well-being and research competence had direct positive effect on the research productivity, knowledge sharing had direct negative impact on the research productivity but knowledge sharing had indirect positive effect through the research competence on the research productivity. Research compentence contributes the highest effect on the research productivity. From this study we recommend that the institution need to improve the research competence on quantitative research method with regard to statistical tools to collect, process, and analyze the research data.

Abstract

Demersal fish is a resource that has very high potential in the Arafura Sea. Information on the diversity index of demersal fish is needed after the moratorium on trawling in the Arafura Sea. The research activity was carried out from 20 October to 20 November 2018 by participating in a survey of fish resources in the 718 Aru and Arafura Sea Fisheries Management Area (WPP). Data analysis used several biodiversity index values including species diversity, species evenness, species richness, and species dominance. Species diversity is divided into 3 (three) research areas, namely East, West and North Arafura Sea. The Shannon Wiener Diversity Index (H') of demersal fish varies between 1.26 – 2.89. Fish species richness index value is 9.37-16.8, dominance index (D) is between 0.09-0.51. The evenness index of Pielou (E) eastern Arafura is 0.13 and north is 0.24 and the Arafura waters is 0.27. The value of the species evenness index is between 0.26-0.50. This condition shows that there is a balance in the utilization of existing demersal fish resources, both feeding habits and  spatial in the Arafura Sea.

Abstract

Self-confidence and self-awareness are psychological factors that play an important role in academic success, but the simultaneous relationship between the two to academic grades is not fully understood. This study aims to analyze the influence of self-confidence and self-awareness on the academic grades of high school students in Magelang using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The study involved 50 students who were selected purposively, with data collected through a questionnaire based on a 5-point Likert scale. The instrument's validity was tested using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), while reliability was measured through Cronbach's Alpha. The results showed that self-confidence significantly influenced 0.490 academic scores, while self-awareness contributed 0.262. Combining the two explains 45.2% of the variance in academic scores. The research model fit well (GFI 0.91; CFI 0.93; RMSEA 0.058). This research emphasizes developing confidence and self-awareness to significantly improve students' academic achievement.
