Abstract

Kata Kunci : High Intensity Interval Training, Sistem Saraf Otonom, Heart Rate Variability ABSTRACT Overweight and obesity are associated with autonomic nervous system dysfunction that is one of the considerations for heart disease, decrease parasympathetic activity, and increase sympathetic activity, which is an unfavorable pattern to the heart. Autonomic nervous system measurement can be done in an invasive manner through the assessment of Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Decreased HRV values ??in obesity are associated with higher body weight and fat mass. Exercise has been shown to increase vagal modulation, increase HRV, and reduce sympathetic nerve activity and catecholamine plasma levels. Giving High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to overweight and obesity is recommended because it has effectiveness in increasing the work of autonomic nerves through weight loss or body fat mass loss also through stimulation and inhibition of enzymes that affect the performance of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The balance of the work system on the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves will provide a cardio protective effect to reduce the risk of heart disease. Key Words : High Intensity Interval Training, Autonomic Nervous System, Heart Rate Variability

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to know correlation between obesity and peak expiratory flow rate in children. This study was done in April 2017. The design of the study was correlational with the cross-sectional method. The samples in this study were obesity children in Saraswati Tabanan primary school of 8-12 years old as many as 55 samples based on consecutive sampling technique. Based on Pearson Correlation test to determine the relationship between obesity with peak expiratory flow rates the results showed a moderate negative association between obesity with peak expiratory flow rates of children with p = 0,000 and r = -0.524. This shows that the higher value of BMI obesity category in children, the lower peak expiratory flow rate value is. The results of this study shows that there was a significant relationship with moderate correlation between obesity with peak expiratory flow rate of the 8-12 year old children at Saraswati Tabanan Primary School Keywords: obesity, peak expiratory flow rate, peak flow meter

Abstract

Background: Increasing the age of the elderly will cause a decrease in body functions. One is a decreased cardiovascular function, triggering cardiovascular disorders such as increased blood pressure. Increased blood pressure in the elderly can affect postural balance, so that it can cause an increase in the risk of falls in the elderly. Methods: The study used a cross-sectional analytic design. This study was conducted on May 22, 2022. The sample in this study was selected using a simple random sampling technique. The number of samples in this study was 78 people. The data was analyzed using the SPSS software, which was divided into three parts, namely univariate analysis to describe the frequency distribution of each variable, normality test to determine whether the distribution of data was normally distributed or not where the normality test used the KoImogrov-Smirnov test and bivariate analysis to determine the relationship between the two variables analysis method used Spearman's Rho test. Results: The relationship between systolic blood pressure and risk of fall was p=0.000 and r=0.866, while the relationship between diastolic blood pressure and risk of fall was p=0.000 and r=0.520. Conclusion: This study concludes that there was a relationship between blood pressure and the risk of falls in the elderly in Kelating Village.
