Abstract

THE COMBINATION OF COW AND PIG FECES AS BIOGAS SOURCES. This research has been carried out with the aim to find out the biogas production produced from the use of cow and pig feces. This research was conducted at Bailang Abattoir Manado, North Sulawesi. The material used in this study were cow feces, pig feces and water. Comparison of feces combinations (2 bucket cow feces, 1 bucket pig feces and 3 bucket water was 1: 1). The equipment used is a horizontal type digester, measuring, thermometer, pH indicator, biogas stove, hose, barrel and bucket. The data analysis used was in this study was descriptive analysis. The variables observed in this study were biogas volume, temperature, pH value, and biogas application. The 31 days of research showed that the total volume of biogas achieved was 122,266,262 m3. The results also obtained an average temperature of 31ºC for the morning and 30ºC for the afternoon. The pH value of this study 7. The gas test was conducted twice, first on the 15th day. The second test was carried out on day 31. The use of biogas takes 24 minutes to cook. The conclusion of this study is the combination of cow and pig feces with a temperature of 30-31ºC and pH 7 produces 122,266,262 cm3 of biogas with a cooking time of 24 minutes. Keywords: biogas, cow feces, pig feces

Abstract

RELATIONSHIP OF WEIGHT BIRTH PIGLET WITH ADDITION OF AGENCY WEIGHT, WEANING WEIGHT, MORTALITY, AND LITTER SIZE WEANING IN LIVESTOCK PT. KARYA PROSPEK SATWA. This study aims to determine how much the relationship of birth weight with weight gain, weaning weight, mortality, and litter size of weaning in animal husbandry companies owned by Animal Prospects. The material used is 7 pregnant sows from Yorkshire and Landrace, with an average body weight of 140 kg which will be taken by 54 children randomly. Furthermore, this research data obtained from weighing piglets during parturition, weighing weekly during weaning and weighing when weaned and taking data on live and dead piglets during the study. The data is then processed by procentage descriptive method and evaluated by simple correlation (r) and determination (R) tests. The variables measured in the study were body weight gain, weaning weight, mortality, and weaning litter size. Birth weight has a very close relationship with weight gain and weaning weight, but litter size weaning has a very weak relation. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas fitoremediasi tanaman kiambang dalam mereduksi limbah cair peternakan babi. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan yaitu Faktor A penggunaan aerator dan non aerator dan Faktor B perlakuan level penutupan tanaman 50% dan 100%, dengan 5 (lima) ulangan. Variabel yang diamati yaitu BOD, DO, TDS, Fosfat dan Nitrat (NO3). Hasil analisis keragaman menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aerator, level penutupan dan interaksi antara aerasi dan level penutupan memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap nilai BOD, DO, TDS, fosfat dan Nitrat. Uji lanjut BNJ menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aerator dengan level penutupan 50% memberikan nilai BOD, TDS, Fosfat dan Nitrat yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) lebih tinggi dari penggunaan aerator dengan level penutupan 100%, dan tanpa aerator dengan level penutupan 50% dan 100% tanpa aerator. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa efektifitas penggunaan tanaman Kiambang dengan penutupan 100% dan 50% tanpa aerator   mampu menurunkan nilai BOD, TDS, Fosfat, Nitrat dan menaikan nilai DO dibandingkan perlakuan penutupan 100% dan 50% menggunakan aerator. Disimpulkan bahwa fitoremediasi tanaman Kiambang (Salvinia Molesta) dengan level penutupan 50% dan 100% tanpa aerator lebih efektif menurunkan nilai BOD, TDS, Fosfat dan Nitrat dan menaikan nilai DO limbah cair peternakan babi. Kata Kunci: Fitoremediasi, kiambang, limbah cair
