Abstract

EEFCT OF COFFEE HUSK WASTE PRODUCT TREATED BY SIMPLE PROCESSING SUBSTITUTED WITH PART OF CORN IN RATION ON PERCENTAGE OF BROILER INTERNAL ORGAN. This study was conducted to evaluate the use of coffee husk waste product treated by simple processing substituted with part of corn in ration on percentage of broiler internal organ. Study was applied at Faculty of Animal Science, Sam Ratulangi University during 35 days. Total of 144 day old chick unsexed broilers, strain of CP 707, involving 36 experimental units of battery pens were used in this study. Each unit of pen was filled 4 birds under completely randomized design on factorial patter of 3x4. Factor A was focused on three processing treatments including coffee husk heated under sun light (A1), coffee husk immersed in the water (A2), and coffee husk boiled under water (A3). Factor B was focused on four treatments of substitution levels including ration containing corn without coffee husk substitution (B0), ration  containing corn substituted with 25% coffee husk (B1), ration  containing corn substituted with 50% coffee husk(B2), ration  containing corn substituted with 75% coffee husk (B3). Analysis of variance showed that interaction of processing treatments did not affect significantly on the percentages of lung, heart and gizzard. This study indicated that simple processing of coffee husk were not affected the percentages of broiler internal organ. The substitution levels significantly affected percentage of internal organ. Percentages of lung, heart and gizzard were 1.38-1.86%, 0.31-0.72% and 1.6-2.77%, respectively. This study showed that utilization of coffee husk waste product by above simple processing could substitute part of corn in ration of 25% producing high percentage of broiler internal organ. Keywords: Broiler, Coffee husk by product, broiler internal organ

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the use of coffee husk waste product treated by simple processing substituted with part of corn in ration on carcass percentage of broiler. Study was applied at Faculty of Animal Science, Sam Ratulangi University during 35 days. Total of 144 day old chick unsexed broilers, strain of CP 707, involving 36 experimental units of battery pens were used in this study. Each unit of pen was filled 4 birds under completely randomized design on factorial patter of 3x4. Factor A was focused on three processing treatments including coffee husk heated under sun light (A1), coffee husk immersed in the water (A2), and coffee husk boiled under water (A3). Factor B was focused on four treatments of substitution levels including ration containing corn without coffee husk substitution (B0), ration containing corn substituted with 25% coffee husk (B1), ration containing corn substituted with 50% coffee husk (B2), ration containing corn substituted with 75% coffee husk (B3). Variables observed were including percentages of thigh, wing, breast and back part. Analysis of variance showed that interaction of processing treatments did not affect significantly on the percentages of thigh, wing, breast and back part. This study indicated that simple processing of coffee husk were not affected the carcass percentages of broiler. The substitution levels significantly affected carcass percentage of broiler. Percentages of thigh, wing, breast and back part were 28.92%-30.98%, 10.38%-12.68%, 35.10%-38.55% and 19,68%-22,71%, respectively. This study showed that utilization of coffee husk waste product by above simple processing could substitute part of corn in ration of 25% producing high carcass percentage of broiler.Keywords: Coffee husk by product, broiler part of carcass percentage

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas fitoremediasi tanaman kiambang dalam mereduksi limbah cair peternakan babi. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan yaitu Faktor A penggunaan aerator dan non aerator dan Faktor B perlakuan level penutupan tanaman 50% dan 100%, dengan 5 (lima) ulangan. Variabel yang diamati yaitu BOD, DO, TDS, Fosfat dan Nitrat (NO3). Hasil analisis keragaman menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aerator, level penutupan dan interaksi antara aerasi dan level penutupan memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap nilai BOD, DO, TDS, fosfat dan Nitrat. Uji lanjut BNJ menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aerator dengan level penutupan 50% memberikan nilai BOD, TDS, Fosfat dan Nitrat yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) lebih tinggi dari penggunaan aerator dengan level penutupan 100%, dan tanpa aerator dengan level penutupan 50% dan 100% tanpa aerator. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa efektifitas penggunaan tanaman Kiambang dengan penutupan 100% dan 50% tanpa aerator   mampu menurunkan nilai BOD, TDS, Fosfat, Nitrat dan menaikan nilai DO dibandingkan perlakuan penutupan 100% dan 50% menggunakan aerator. Disimpulkan bahwa fitoremediasi tanaman Kiambang (Salvinia Molesta) dengan level penutupan 50% dan 100% tanpa aerator lebih efektif menurunkan nilai BOD, TDS, Fosfat dan Nitrat dan menaikan nilai DO limbah cair peternakan babi. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui informasi jenis-jenis satwa liar dan endemik yang banyak ditemukan di pasar-pasar tradisional beredar di Wilayah Kabupaten Minahasa Utara. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di beberapa pasar tradisional yang ada di Minahasa Utara. Objek penelitian adalah masyarakat pengguna pasar-pasar tradisional di Wilayah Kabupaten Minahasa Utara dan ini merupakan data primer. Data sekunder yang diperoleh dari instansi terkait dengan penelitian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey. Data yang dikumpulkan dengan cara mendatangi langsung ke responden dan mewawancarai melalui quisioner yang berikan tanpa adanya intervensi dari peneliti. Data yang diperoleh ditabulasi dan dianalisis secara sederhana yaitu menghitung persentase dari tiap-tiap vartabel yang terkait dengan responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, satwa liar yang diperjual belikan di pasar Minahasa Utara diambil atau didatangkan dari Gorontalo dan Palu  sebanyak 1 sampai 2 pedagang, akan tetapi ada 1 orang pedagang mendapatkannya dari Gunung Kelabat dan Likupang. Jenis satwa liar yang diperdagangkan diantaranya tikus, kelelawar, babirusa dan juga ular phyton. Jumlah pembeli daging satwa liar dipasar tradisional Minahasa Utara untuk daging babirusa yang dikonsumsi sendiri sebanyak 6 orang pembeli dan untuk dijual kembali ke rumah makan hanya 1 orang, sedangkan pembeli daging tikus 12 orang hanya untuk dikonsumsi sendiri dan dijual kembali hanya 1 orang. Untuk daging kelelawar pembelinya 7 orang dan dijual kembali hanya 1 orang, serta pembeli daging ular piton pembelinya 5 orang dan tidak menjual kembali daging yang mereka beli. Kesimpulan penelitian ini  bahwa, ada peredaran satwa liar  baik dalam bentuk hidup maupun mati yang ditemukan dipasar tradisional Minahasa Utara, dan ini sangat bervariasi sedangkan satwa endemik tidak diperjual belikan dipasar tersebut baik dalam bentuk hidup maupun mati.
