Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang Pengajaran Bahasa Tonsea (BT) pada Peserta Didik di Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Kauditan di Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Propinsi Sulawesi-Utara di era globalisasi ini. Sampel penelitian dilakukan di sekolahsekolah dasar yang ada di Kecamatan Kauditan. Penelitian ini mengangkat keberadaan yang aktual tentang fenomena pengajaran BT di tingkat sekolah dasar melalui pengajar atau guru dan murid-muridnya serta pengaruh lingkungannya terhadap BT tersebut. Keberadaan kurikulum 2006 yang memuat muatan lokal dalam proses pengajaran serta khususnya pada minat pembelajaran anak-anak didik di usia dini pada pemakaian BT itu sendiri yang sangat berkaitan erat dengan unsur kekayaan kebudayaan Bahasa yang harus terus dilestarikan.Metode survey digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan gambaran situasi pemakaian Bahasa Tonsea di dalam pengajaran yang diterapkan di SD. Metode ini nantinya dapatkan menghasilkan suatu gambaran profil dari situasi BT tersebut di wilayah kecamatan itu khusnya pada tingkatan SD yang ada di sejumlah SD yang ada dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif.Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pengajaran BT masih berlangsung walaupun sifat pengajarannnya pasif. Penelitian ini fokus pembahasan tentang pada sistem pembelajaran BT pada studi muatan lokal di tingkat sekolah dasar berdasarkan kurikulum 2006, kompetensi guru dalam hal ini pengetahuan berbahasa sangat kuran, perangkat pengajaran seperti Silabus, SAP, GBPP dan keberadaan penunjang dalam pengajaran seperti kamus bahasa Tonsea, buku suplemen Bahasa Tonsea yang tidaklah banyak dan kurangnya sinergitas hubungan narasumber dari luar (source person) yang memiliki kemampuan berbahasa Tonsea dengan pihak sekolah, serta sarana dan prasarana yang masih perlu ditingkatkan.Dapat disimpulkan bahawa pelajaran muatan lokal dalam kurikulum pendidikan masih diperlukan. Mulok tahun 2006 yang berintegrasi dengan kurikulum 2013 yang salah satunya mengedepankan aspek Bahasa daerah ke Budaya Daerah kiranya dapat mengedepankan esensi mulok itu sendiri agar supaya tidak terhilang dari dunia pendidikan yang ada.Kata Kunci : Bahasa Tonsea, Peserta Didik Sekolah Dasar, Pelestarian, Profil, Survey

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is entitled “Bentuk Permintaan Sopan dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Talaud: Suatu Analisis Kontrastif”. The problem in this research is what are the forms of polite request in English and Talaud Language and, what are the similarities and difference between the two languages. The research question to be answered are how are the forms of polite request in English and Talaud Language and are there any similarities and differences in both languages. In terms of methodology, the writer used descriptive method and contrastive analysis. The whole data were collected by doing library and field research. The data of both languages were analyzed based on Lado’s (1971) theory. The result of this research shows that polite request in English and Talaud Language have some similaraties and differences. Both languages have polite forms. Besides, the differences in both languages are found in terms of structure, forms of sentences, distribution of verbs and personal pronouns which were used to address the hearers. Key Words: Polite Request, English and Talaud language, Contrastive Analysis.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled “Convivial dalam Film Taken by Piere Morel & Olivier Megaton”. The success of communication depends on how well a hearer can read the message from the speaker. The purpose of this research is to have a concrete view of how convivial is used in the film Taken. In collecting data, the writer concentrated on the utterances which contain the convivial sentence produced by the characters in the film. The collected data are analyzed based on Leech’s theory. The result shows that there are six types of acts of convivial in the film Taken, they are: offering, promising, thanking, inviting, thanking and congratulating. It is expected that this research will help the students and the other readers in learning the pragmatics aspects, especially about illocutionary act.Keyword: Convivial, Movie Illocutionary act, Pragmatics, Film Taken.

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This research is an attempt to discover the correlation of English language acquisition and the audio-visual media usage on kindergarten students.  The objectives of this research are to identify wheter the audio-viusal media usage can help the expansion of children English language acquisition and to analyze the factors that can affect the success and failure of the audio-visual usage in children English language acquisition. This study is based on the five principlas for creating effective second language learning environment from Erben, Ban and Castaneda (2009) and second language acquisition theory from Krashen (1985).The quailitative approach is applied in this study and the writer uses Random Sampling technique in choosing the participants. The data collection techniques were observation, documentation, interviews, Likert Scale as the field notes and quitionare. Pre-test and post-test also used to verify the original achievement from the participant and as the instrument to help analyzing the data. The result of this research shows that most participants had shown some progress in English language acquisition trough the audio-visual usage in number 54% on the pre-test and 86.25% on the post-test This research also discovered there are 4 positive factors and 5 negative factors which can affect the success of the audio-visual usage in children English language acquisition.         Keywords: English language, Acquisition, Audio-Visual Media, Correlation, Children

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research entitled “Adverbs in Album After Laughter of Paramore Group Band” is written to fulfill the requirement of finish S1 degree in English Department Faculty of Letters Sam Ratulangi University. The aims of research are to indentify, classify and analyze the types and function of the adverbs found in the album of after laughter.The method use is descriptive method. The result of shows that the types of  adverb is the album After Laughter are: adverbs of manner, adverbs of place and direction, adverb of time, intensifying adverbs, sentence adverbs, conjuctive adverbs  the functions of the adverbs are: adverb as modifier of a verb, adverb of adjectives and adverbs and adverb as modifier of the whole sentence. it is expected that this research contribute to linguistic theory in syntax and help student to understand more about adverbs. Key Words: Adverbs,Types and Functions, After Laughter.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled “Kata-Kata Pinjaman Bahasa Inggris dalam Bahasa Indonesia pada Koran Harian Komentar Manado”.The objectives of this research are to find out the kinds and the changes of the meanings of English loan words in Indonesian language. In analyzing the data, the writer uses Haugen’s theory to find out the types and Baugh’s theory to get the changes of the meanings.The result of research shows are three kinds of loan word. Those are loan word without phonemic substitution, loan word with partial phonemic substitution, loan word with complete phonemic substitution and theres three kinds of the changes of meaning such as extention and narrowing, but regeneration and degeneration process are not found in those loan words.It is excpected that the study will help student and readers in learning of sociolinguistic especially loanwords.  Keywords: Loan Words, Change of Meaning, Socioliguistic, Komentar Manado Newspaper

Abstract

This research discusses about an oral tradition of Makalelon song of Tontemboan Minahasa ethnicity. This Makalelon Wakan is an originally traditional sub-ethnic song of Tontemboan Minahasa with lyrics in Tontemboan, Manado Malay and Indonesian, entitled 1) Minta Doa, 2 Tumembo Meko, 3) Di bawah Sinar, 4) Si Pisok Matelew-telew, 5) Sungguh Ibu, 6) Saaku Tumanei, 7) Bila Malam Tiba, 8 E Po’ok-po’ok, and 9) Saaku Cabow still continue being sung by the Minahasan people until now. From the research result, it is found that the Makalelon song has been the form of supplications and prayers to God, requesting expressions to ask for protection and a hope or petition to God, Opo Empung, a request from a child to parents (usually to his mother who bore), and love towards the hometown/village, longing to friends and relatives brothers in the village, miss will land born in a village in Minahasa . The songs passed down oral traditions’s messages from "the elders”, especially "from father and mother" to their children such expressions as: pray to each other, ask them to go home “back to the village”, fight to survive, keep on remembering the loved ones in the village, appreciate your mother’s sacrifice, pray and remember family in a far village, develop your village, struggling with this life and work hard to exist
