Abstract

Abstract:This research aimed to produce comic media with guided inquiry models based on scientific literacy on circulatory system in humans for grade VIII junior high school students. It had been done in SMPN 4 Pekanbaru and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Biology in University of Riau on April of October 2019. This typeofresearch was a Reseach and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model which consists of five stages namely analyze, design, development, implement, and evaluate. This research only reached the development stage by conducting validation by validators and limited trials in stages I and II. The data obtained were analyzed statistically descriptive. The evaluation of the developed comic media includes 6 aspects, namely aspects of comic content, aspects of linguistic / communication, aspects of presentation, aspects of overall appearance, aspects of guided inquiry, and aspects of scientific literacy. The results of the average validationwith a guided inquiry model based on science literacy gained a score of 3.47 in the very valid category. The average results of the limited trial phase I get a score of 96.42% with a very good category and a limited trial phase II get a score of 94.28% with a very good category. Based on these data it can be concluded that the development of comic media with a guided inquiry model based on scientific literacy in the material of the circulatory system in humans for grade VIII junior high school students gets very valid and very good categories so that it is appropriate to be used as a source of learning and can be implemented in the learning process at school.KeyWords: Comic Media, Guided Inquiry, Scientific Literacy, the Material of Circulatory System In Human

Abstract

This study uses a panel data analysis method in the form of a cross-section of 34 provinces in Indonesia with a time-series from 2010-2020. Followed by using quantitative method analysis with the Eviews 10 analysis tool. The results of the model specification test state that FEM (Fixed Effect Model) is the best choice model to use. It is known that from all the independent variables, only some have a positive influence on economic growth, such as PMDN, the number of poor people, and the consumer price index (CPI) having a positive direction. This positive influence is caused by education, health and increased investment so that it can encourage economic growth. Inflation has a principle which states that not everything has a negative impact on the economy. Such as mild inflation that can provide the realization of economic growth. However, the variables TPAK, RLS, AHH and Islamic Banking Financing have a negative direction on Indonesia's economic growth. So, in the context of increasing economic growth, it can be concluded that the presence of several indicators such as a quality and productive workforce, equitable education and health, socialization of sharia banking to the community is more conducive so that economic growth in Indonesia is increasing.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an interactive English PowerPoint animation to improve junior high school students’ reading comprehension and to identify the most effective interactive features for reading instruction. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the 4D model, the study was limited to the define, design, and develop stages. The participants were one English teacher and 20 ninth-grade students at SMPN 7 Palopo. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, expert validation, and classroom try-outs. The results showed that the developed media was highly effective, achieving a mean score of 3.61 and an effectiveness rate of 90.25% (“Very Good”). Expert validation confirmed high feasibility in terms of content, language, design, and interactivity. Key features contributing to its effectiveness included animated text and images, interactive quizzes, educational games, vocabulary audio, and reading materials adapted from students’ textbooks. These features enhanced students’ engagement, motivation, and comprehension during reading activities. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of curriculum-aligned reading texts, multimodal animations, and game-based interactive elements within a single PowerPoint-based medium that functions fully offline. This design offers a practical and accessible solution for schools with limited internet access. The findings indicate that interactive PowerPoint animation can support more student-centered reading instruction and serve as an effective alternative to traditional textbook-based learning in EFL classrooms.
