Abstract

This paper aims to trace the genealogy of the Kiai Ṣāliḥ Darat in the field of falak sciences and the approach he used in uniting the differences in the initial determination of Ramadan in Semarang. This study is important, considering Kiai Ṣāliḥ Darat is more an expert in the field of Sufism. On the other hand, Kiai Ṣāliḥ Darat was also positioned as an early generation Falak Indonesian expert (salaf). This paper includes a historical study that conducts critical analysis of data that has been isolated from various literatures. The results of the study showed that the expertise of Kiai Ṣāliḥ Darat in the field of falak knowledge was obtained when conducting scientific jouney for Semarang scholars to al-Haramayn scholars. Kiai Ṣāliḥ Darat initiated a deliberation to determine the beginning of the month of Ramadan. This discussion involved ulama, astronomer, habaib and umara in Kauman Mosque in Semarang. The idea of deliberation is aimed at eliminating differences in society in determining the beginning of fasting. The idea of the initial unification of Ramadlan through deliberation was the substance of the Dugderan Tradition in Semarang, Central Java

Abstract

In Indonesia, Muslim persons with disabilities (PwDs) face significant barriers in accessing financial services, including Sharia-based fintech platforms. This study aims to develop inclusive regulatory strategies to enhance their access to Sharia-compliant fintech funding. Employing a normative legal approach and conceptual analysis based on maqashid sharia, the research highlights the lack of integration between digital accessibility standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and current Sharia fintech regulations. The findings propose a five-part inclusive strategy grounded in the principles of justice (al-‘adālah), facilitation (al-taysīr), and the removal of hardship (raf' al-ḥaraj): identifying accessibility needs, designing adaptive regulations, enhancing human resource capacity, integrating cross-sectoral policies, and establishing participatory monitoring and enforcement. This framework not only empowers Muslim disabled entrepreneurs within Indonesia but also holds global significance, especially for Muslim minority communities in non-Muslim countries such as China. Indonesia’s experience demonstrates that inclusive Sharia fintech regulations can be framed within universal legal and ethical values, making them adaptable to diverse socio-legal contexts. This study contributes to building a more inclusive and equitable Islamic financial ecosystem that promotes dignity, empowerment, and access for all, particularly those who are socially and economically marginalized.

Abstract

This study highlights the potential for educational tourism based on the history and genealogy of Walisongo in Java, which could have been more optimal. Walisongo has an important role in spreading Islam and Javanese culture, but its appeal to educational tourism still needs to be expanded. This study explores how historical sites, genealogies, and life stories of Walisongo can be used as the main attraction, as well as the obstacles and opportunities in developing this tourism. This study used qualitative methods to collect data from literature and interviews with the community, historians, and stakeholders. Secondary data from books, journals, and articles related to Walisongo were also analyzed to provide a complete picture of the potential of Walisongo's cultural heritage. The study results indicate that Walisongo has great appeal for educational tourism, especially among students interested in studying the history of the spread of Islam in Java. However, several obstacles exist, such as minimal supporting facilities, lack of infrastructure, and limited effective promotion. In addition, the need for more public understanding of the history of Walisongo requires more comprehensive educational materials. This study recommends the development of educational tourism based on Walisongo that can support cultural preservation and provide economic benefits for the local community.
