Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the digital marketing capabilities of the Susi Seprai and Bedcover MSME by providing assistance and creating visual content in the form of product photos and videos. With high-quality visual content, it is expected to increase product appeal and broaden online marketing reach. The activity is carried out in two phases: a product photography training on August 15, 2024, and visual content creation assistance from August 1, 2024, to October 1, 2024, at the Susi Seprai and Bedcover MSME location in Padang City, West Sumatra. The methods used in this activity include technical training in product photography, an introduction to and use of photo editing applications such as Canva and Photoshop, and video editing applications like Premiere Pro. This training is designed to provide practical knowledge to MSME owners on how to take attractive product photos and edit them for a more professional look. The results of this activity show an improvement in the MSME owner's ability to take and edit photos and videos of their products and to use editing applications like Canva for digital marketing purposes. Additionally, photos and videos have been produced as promotional content. The conclusion of this activity is that training and assistance in visual content creation are effective in enhancing MSME digital marketing capabilities. The recommendation is for further training on other digital marketing techniques and deeper exploration of editing applications to optimize visual content outcomes.

Abstract

At this time, the application development process has experienced much development in terms of tools and the programming language used. The application development process is required to be carried out in a fast process using various existing tools. The application development and delivery process can be done quickly using Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD). This study uses the CI/CD technique to develop real-time applications using various programming languages implemented on a cloud infrastructure using the AWS codepipeline, which focuses on automatic deployment. Application source code is stored on different media using GitHub and Amazon S3. The source code will be tested for automatic deployment using the AWS code pipeline. The results of this study show that all programming languages can be appropriately deployed with an average time of 60 seconds

Abstract

Disability is one of a person's physical and mental conditions that can inhibit normal daily activities. One of the disabilities that can be found in disability is speech without fingers. Persons with disabilities have obstacles in communicating with people around both verbally and in writing. Communication tools to help people with disabilities without finger fingers continue to be developed, one of them is by creating a virtual keyboard using a Leap Motion sensor. The hand gestures are captured using the Leap Motion sensor so that the direction of the hand gesture in the form of pitch, yaw, and roll is obtained. The direction values are grouped into normal, right, left, up, down, and rotating gestures to control the virtual keyboard. The amount of data used for gesture recognition in this study was 5400 data consisting of 3780 training data and 1620 test data. The results of data testing conducted using the Artificial Neural Network method obtained an accuracy value of 98.82%. This study also performed a virtual keyboard performance test directly by typing 20 types of characters conducted by 15 respondents three times. The average time needed by respondents in typing is 5.45 seconds per character.

Abstract

Facial expressions are a method to communicate if someone feels pain. Moreover, coding facial movements to assess pain requires extensive training and is time-consuming for clinical practice. In addition, in Covid 19 pandemic, it was difficult to determine this expression due to the mask on the face. There for, it needs to develop a system that can detect the pain from facial expressions when a person is wearing a mask. There are 41 points used to form 19 geometrical features. It used 20.000 frames of 24 respondents from the dataset as secondary data . From these data, training, and testing were carried out using the ANN (Artificial Neural Network) method with a variation of the number of neurons in the hidden layer, i.e., 5, 10, 15, and 20 neurons. The results obtained from testing these data are the highest accuracy of 86% with the number of 20 hidden layers.

Abstract

Robotic and Embedded System Laboratory di Universitas Andalas berperan penting dalam mendukung proyek mahasiswa Teknik Komputer, namun manajemen akses laboratorium menjadi tantangan karena keterbatasan jumlah kunci dan akses ke ruangan asisten kurang terkendali. Masalah ini menyebabkan risiko kehilangan atau kerusakan peralatan penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem yang meningkatkan keamanan dan memantau akses ke laboratorium. Dua sistem monitoring dirancang: pertama, pintu laboratorium menggunakan sensor sidik jari untuk autentikasi yang membuka kunci solenoid selama 5 detik; kedua, akses ruang asisten menggunakan sensor PIR untuk deteksi pengguna dan sensor sidik jari untuk autentikasi. Jika ada akses tidak sah, sistem akan mengaktifkan buzzer dan mengirimkan notifikasi ke aplikasi. Pengujian mencakup waktu respon sensor sidik jari, waktu respon alat, jarak deteksi PIR, kualitas suara buzzer, validasi data di Firebase, dan kontrol alat dari aplikasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa sistem dapat membaca sidik jari valid dalam waktu kurang dari 1 detik dan andal dalam berbagai kondisi sidik jari. Sistem juga mampu mendeteksi objek pada jarak 0 hingga 2 meter, memberikan peringatan suara 101 dB dengan stabilitas baik, serta mengirim dan menyimpan data dengan benar ke database dengan rata-rata delay 2,43 detik. Sistem ini juga dapat mengontrol kunci pintu laboratorium melalui aplikasi selama ada koneksi internet.

Abstract

Maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of toilets in lecture buildings is very important for the quality of the campus environment. This study develops a Firebase-based Automatic Air Condition Monitoring and Cleaning System in the restrooms of Andalas University lecture halls. The main problem identified is the lack of direct monitoring, which leads to the appearance of unpleasant odors and potential health problems. A survey showed that 64.8% of respondents sometimes felt unpleasant odors, while 59.3% indicated a lack of adequate air circulation.To solve this problem, the designed system is able to detect and monitor toilet conditions in real-time through gas measurements such as ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon monoxide using MQ-135, MQ-136, and MQ-7 sensors, the results of which can be monitored through a website. The system not only monitors, but also controls air quality by turning on the exhaust fan when the gas level exceeds a certain. Tests show that the system is accurate in detecting gas, with sensor precision above 90% and an average data transmission time of 1.74 seconds. However, the humidity measurement showed an error rate of 32.36%. The system effectively improves the hygiene monitoring of restrooms, thereby improving comfort and health on campus

Abstract

The development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart room system in a Very Important Person (VIP) room was carried out using a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor, and the Blynk application. The system is capable of detecting human presence at a distance of up to 5 meters with a detection angle of 35°-145°, and automatically controlling electronic devices such as lights and music players. Additional manual control is carried out through the Blynk application for volume and equalizer settings. Testing shows that the system successfully reduces electricity consumption by turning off devices when no users are present. The PIR sensor detection success rate reached 98% in a 7 x 4 meter room, with a system response time of less than 2 seconds. The system also supports light control through two methods: input from the PIR sensor and the Blynk application. The overall implementation demonstrates operational efficiency, ease of management, and potential energy savings in an IoT-based VIP room facility.

Abstract

Air bersih merupakan kebutuhan pokok dalam kehidupan manusia sehari-hari, Akan tetapi tidak semua orang dapat mendapatkan air bersih. Di Indonesia masih banyak terdapat daerah yang kesulitan mendapatkan air bersih. Menurut [1], terdapat sekitar 6% luas daerah di Indonesia yang mengalami krisis air bersih pada tahun 2000, dimana jumlah ini diprediksi akan terus meningkat menjadi 9,6% di tahun 2045. Berdasarkan data ini setidaknya terdapat peningkatan daerah kritis air bersih sebanyak 0,08% setiap tahunnya. syarat agar air memenuhi standar baku mutu kesehatan adalah memiliki tingkat kekeruhan dengan nilai skala kekeruhan maksimal 25 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Unit) serta tingkat pH air berada pada angka 6,5-8,5. Karena hal tersebut diperlukan sistem yang dapat menjernihkan air secara otomatis dengan memberikan tawas sesuai dengan takaran yang tepat, dan juga user dapat mendapatkan notifikasi terkait kondisi air pada jarak jauh. Pada sistem untuk meningkatkan kualitas air ini maka sensor turbidity akan digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat kekeruhan yang dimiliki air dan sensor pH akan digunakan unutk mengukur tingkat pH dari air. Berdasarkan hasil dari kedua sensor ini cairan tawas akan diberikan untuk menjernihkan air dan cairan pH up/pH down diberikan untuk mengatur tingkatan pH air agar sesuai dengan standar baku kesehatan.

Abstract

This activity aims to strengthen this independence by integrating digital technology solutions into the school's financial management system. The method used was a participatory qualitative approach with four main stages: preparation, implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. This process involved the active participation of the school's administrators. The implemented solution focused on the use of the digital application "Buku Warung" to simplify transaction recording, stock management, and financial reporting. The results showed a significant impact. Before the intervention, 100% of the recording was done manually, incomplete, and prone to errors. After mentoring, the boarding school administrators' understanding of digital and financial literacy improved substantially. Adoption of the application reached 95%, effectively transforming the recording system into a digital and detailed one. The time efficiency of preparing financial reports such as profit and loss and cash flow increased by 75%, enabling administrators to make faster and more accurate business decisions. Despite obstacles such as limited internet access at the site and initial resistance to change, these obstacles were successfully overcome through ongoing education and practical mentoring. The conclusion of this activity was that the combination of technological solutions and practical mentoring proved effective in improving the economic management capacity of Islamic boarding schools. To ensure the program's sustainability, it is recommended that Islamic boarding schools integrate all their business units into a single, integrated system and expand collaboration with various parties for further support.
