Abstract

People with disabilities are a vulnerable group in society, especially women. The marginalization of people with disabilities makes it difficult for them to carry out economic activities to support their daily needs. In Bengkulu City, women with disabilities gather in the Association of Indonesian Women with Disabilities (HWDI). This organization functions to accommodate disabled women in Bengkulu City to become economically independent. Several types of businesses have been developed by this organization, but business development has not been able to improve members' welfare. Therefore, improving HWDI business management is important in supporting the inclusion and empowerment of women with disabilities. The method used in this activity is the counselling method. This activity aims to improve the skills and knowledge of HWDI members in managing their businesses effectively and sustainably. The results of the activity show that there is a change in mindset in running a business, there is an interest in improving business management and improving product packaging to make it more attractive and they are willing to try a different approach to marketing products.

Abstract

Household welfare can be improved through microfinancial institutions' support by providing microcredit programs. The shock of the COVID-19 pandemic caused the impact on household welfare to decrease by 2.6% in 2020 in Bengkulu. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the People's Business Credit (KUR) program on the welfare of business households in Bengkulu Province through the National Socio-Economic Survey of the Central Bureau of Statistics (SUSENAS) for the 2022 wave using the propensity score matching (PSM) method. The study results show that microcredit influences household welfare in Bengkulu. Households receiving KUR had higher expenditures of 8.89% than groups not receiving the KUR program. In addition, age, number of households, education, savings account, marital status, and agricultural business influence KUR program recipient participation. The KUR program is expected to improve the quality of MSMEs and provide recommendations for enhancing KUR program services to related financial institutions.

Abstract

Abstract This study analyzes the influence of social and environmental dynamics on economic resilience, which is measured through Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the island of Sumatra during the period 2011 to 2022. Considering the increasing uncertainty in the global economy due to climate change, this research aims to analyze how factors such as Poverty level, unemployment rate, Human Development Index (HDI), air quality index, water quality index and environmental quality index affect GRDP. Using a quantitative approach, secondary data from ten provinces in Sumatra during the period 2011 to 2022 was analyzed using the panel data regression method. The findings show that poverty has a significant negative effect on GRDP, while HDI has a positive effect on GRDP. In addition, air and water quality indices have a negative impact on GRDP, highlighting the need for effective environmental management strategies. This research underscores the important relationship between environmental conditions and economic performance, showing that sustainable development strategies are critical to increasing economic resilience in vulnerable regions such as Sumatra. Keywords:Social and Environmental Dynamics, Economic Resilience, GRDP, Poverty, Environmental Quality Abstrak Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh dinamika sosial dan lingkungan terhadap ketahanan ekonomi yang diukur melalui Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) di Pulau Sumatera selama periode 2011 hingga 2022. Abstract

A country's payment system plays an important role in the country's economic development. In recent years, economic transactions have been carried out digitally or without cash worldwide, including in Indonesia. Digitalizing the payment system means switching from a paper-based payment system to a digital/electronic one. Digital payments offer speed, lower fees, and convenience. A well-functioning digital payments system is critical to a country's overall economic performance, monetary policy, and financial stability. This study aims to determine the effect of digital payments on economic growth in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Digital payment measured by regional ATM and ATM+Debit transaction volume. Economic growth is measured from GRDP-ADHK. To achieve this, the study employed regional analysis. The data were manifested in the form of panel data and gathered from 34 provinces in Indonesia. The data covered those between 2019 to 2021. Having collected the data, they were analyzed using the multiple regression analysis. In particular, it employed a specific method, what is known as the Eviews 12 program. The results of this research were mixed. For example, of many provinces in Indonesia, digital payments had the greatest influence on the provinces of Sumatra Island. It has a significant positive effect on the province’s economic growth. In other islands, like Java-Bali, digital payments were reported to have no significant positive effect on economic growth. Meanwhile, on the eastern Indonesian islands, digital payments were recorded to have absolutely no effect on economic growth.

Abstract

This study investigates whether the effect of corruption, financial deepening, and inflation on economic growth exists employing panel regression of 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra over the period 2012-2020. Using the fixed effect model as the best model, the results confirm that between corruption, financial deepening, inflation and economic growth, a simultan relationship exists. Moreover, the FEM panel regression estimations indicate that corruption does not significantly affect economic growth, whereas financial deepening and inflation positively affect economic growth. The policy implication is that, for every province in Sumatra Island, boosting financial deepening and inflation can help promote economic growth. The policy effects are related to the prosperity of different regions.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic triggered economic shocks that adversely affected the global economy. Economic growth contracted significantly. Restrictions on economic activity trigger people's shopping behavior to switch to non-cash and online systems. E-commerce, as one part of digital economic transformation, has experienced a significant increase which impacts the flow of dissemination of ideas, innovations, and information, thus encouraging economic growth. This study analyzes the Impact of e-commerce on economic growth in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic using intermediation models and fixed effect analysis. The results show that e-commerce negatively and significantly impacts economic growth during 2019 and 2021. Because e-commerce stimulates economic growth in a country but needs to be supported by quality infrastructure, quality broadband internet, online security (cyber security), and digital payment systems (e-payment). The variables of online financing, efficiency of government spending, length of schooling, and number of tourists have a positive and significant effect. Meanwhile, the poverty rate and human development index have a negative and significant effect. In maximizing e-commerce activities in Indonesia, strong support and collaboration from the government, financial institutions, and the Ministry of Communication and information technology are needed.
