Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze labor productivity inequality and labor dualism in Bengkulu Province. The method used is descriptive analysis, equipped with class typology and elasticity of employment. We are using employment data from BPS publications. The results show that by dividing business fields into 17 sectors in 2018 and 2019, labor productivity inequality is awfully unequal, which is indicated by a very high standard deviation rate. Meanwhile, labor dualism is led by informal workers by a percentage of over 60%. More workers with primary education are absorbed in the informal sector, whereas educated workers are mostly taken in the formal sector. The highest coefficient of labor absorption elasticity for legal workers occurred in 2016 (3.14) and for informal workers in 2015 (1.73).Keywords: labor dualism, labor productivity

Abstract

This study assesses the causal relationship to see whether the investment will affect economic growth. The data was taken from 1970-2020 in unit percentages, so the results obtained will lead to the research objectives. This research is also the direction of the relationship between two variables using several tests, namely the Granger Casualty and Error Correction Model (ECM). The results show a one-way causal relationship between FDI and economic growth and determine the lag that has been tested. The optimal lag in the second year of FDI is proven to affect economic growth in Indonesia in two years. There is a long-term and short-term relationship when direct investment affects Singapore's economic growth in the period 1970-2020. As a developed country, the creation of a one-way causal relationship, foreign direct investment is proven to affect economic growth. Thus, compared to developing countries such as Indonesia, where the optimal lag test is carried out, the one-way relationship of foreign investment is proven to affect Singapore's economic growth within two years, including the long term. And the short-term relationship when direct investment involves economic growth.

Abstract

During the pandemic covid-19, there are many people in Bengkulu who are not working anymore, while the housewives should be able to use their free time more productively, including for Himpunan Wanita Difabel Indonesia (HWDI). One of the causes is the lack of knowledge and experience of members in the field of marketing using technology, for example by utilizing the marketplace. For this reason, Bengkulu University carries out community service activities (PKM) in the form of counseling about the marketplace as an effort to increase business competitiveness for HWDI products. With this counseling, HWDI members currently have a smooth business selling their products so that their income increases. In addition to creating a marketplace account, HWDI members also create a QRIS account to make the payment system easier. The activity was carried out on June 11, 2022 at the secretariat of HWDI in Padang Harapan, Gading Cempaka Bengkulu City.

Abstract

This research investigated the effectiveness of the monetary policy in Indonesia. A cumulative summary test was used to determine the response of economic growth to monetary policy between 1990-2020. Furthermore, the data on gross national income, money supply, inflation, exchange rate, and interest rate was processed using error correction model regression. The results showed that monetary policy improved economic growth through channels of inflation and money supply, and the correlation was strong and valid both in the short and long term. The correlation of exchange rate and interest rate to economic growth was also observed to be significant only in the long term. The four variables had a significant, simultaneous effect on Indonesia's GDP. Therefore, the government needs to pay special attention to the enactment of monetary policy.
