Abstract

Understanding the Interplay Between Family Roles and Psychological Well-Being in Supporting the Natural Development of the Childs. Objective: This study aims to investigate the impact of family dynamics and children’s psychological well-being on their overall development. Specifically, it explores how the family environment and psychological well-being influence the development of a child’s innate nature. Methods: A quantitative descriptive approach was employed in this study, utilizing a linear regression model. The sample was drawn from Islamic high schools (or equivalent) in Purworejo Regency, with respondents selected using a random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring family dynamics and the psychological well-being of children. Findings: The findings reveal that the family plays a crucial role in shaping the character development of children. Additionally, children’s psychological well-being has a significant impact on their overall development. The analysis shows that both family dynamics and psychological well-being interact to facilitate the optimal development of a child’s inherent characteristics. Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that both psychological well-being and family roles significantly contribute to a child's development. Therefore, it is essential to consider both factors in efforts to support the best development of a child’s innate traits, ensuring they reach their full potential. Keywords: family roles, psychological well-being, natural development of the childs.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i3.2024137

Abstract

Resilience and post-traumatic growth play crucial roles in the development of adolescents, particularly when they encounter diverse obstacles in life. The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of religious practices on resilience and experience personal growth after experiencing trauma in adolescents. This research employs a quantitative methodology grounded on a positivist framework. Data were gathered using a simple random sampling method including 218 Muslim teenagers in Yogyakarta, Indonesia who had encountered stressful incidents in the preceding year. Statistical analysis was employed to examine the correlation between variables. This research illustrates that religious practices may serve as a substantial source of resilience for teenagers in managing trauma. Engagement in religious activities enhances resilience and fosters healthy development. These findings indicate the need for the amalgamation of spiritual support and psychological therapies to facilitate teenage rehabilitation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of gadget dependence, emotional intelligence, and social control on students’ religious character. The study employed a quantitative approach using a Structural Equation Modeling design based on Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM). Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire administered to a randomly selected sample of 350 senior high school students in Yogyakarta. The results indicate that gadget dependence has a significant negative effect on students’ religious character (β = −0.41, p < 0.001), while emotional intelligence (β = 0.37, p < 0.001) and social control (β = 0.29, p < 0.01) have significant positive effects. The structural model demonstrates strong explanatory power, with an R² value of 0.879, indicating that these variables collectively explain 87.9% of the variance in students’ religious character. These findings suggest that the development of students’ religious character in the digital era is influenced not only by cognitive factors but also by emotional regulation and social supervision. Therefore, strengthening digital literacy, providing emotional regulation training, and fostering collaboration among schools, families, and religious communities are essential strategies for cultivating adaptive religiosity grounded in moral and religious values.
