Abstract

Introduction: Atherosclerotic heart disease is one of the leading cardiovascular diseases with a high mortality rate globally. Atherosclerosis occurs due to the accumulation of cholesterol and low-density lipoproteins (LDL) on the inner walls of blood vessels, forming plaques that can completely block arteries, potentially leading to death. One of the interventions used to relieve such blockages is percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). PCI can have an impact on patients' physical activity and quality of life. The aim of this study is to determine the factors associated with quality of life after PCI in patients with atherosclerotic heart disease. Methods: This study employed a descriptive correlational research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling, resulting in a total of 60 respondents. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank test and logistic regression. Results: The findings indicated that most respondents (81.7%) reported a moderate quality of life. Factors associated with quality of life after PCI included age, gender, education, anxiety, and illness perception. The results of the multivariate analysis revealed that the most significant factor associated with quality of life post-PCI was education, with an odds ratio (OR) of 9.392. Conclusions: Among all the factors, education emerged as the most dominant determinant of quality of life after PCI, with an odds ratio (OR) of 9.392 and a 95% confidence interval (CI) of 1.252–70.434.

Abstract

A Nutrition Aware Family is a family with balanced nutritional behavior that is able to recognize, prevent and overcome nutritional problems in each member of the family. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the role of parents and the nutritional status of toddlers in nutrition conscious families in Banyuanyar sub-district. This type of research is correlational analytic, using an analytical observation design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was all 65 children under 5 years of age who live in RW 12, Banyuanyar Village. The sampling technique used accidental sampling where the subjects taken as respondents were subjects who were met or happened to come to the service at Posyandu RW 12, Banyuanyar Village, Surakarta City. Data collection was carried out using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire regarding the assessment of families' nutritional awareness with behavioral indicators, namely measuring body weight regularly, giving exclusive breast milk, consuming a variety of foods, using iodized salt and consuming nutritional supplements as recommended. Apart from the questionnaire, researchers used observation sheets of the results of anthropometric measurements of toddlers, namely weight, height and age of toddlers. Measurements using Microtoise, measuring table, scales and metline. The results of the analysis using the Chi square test showed that Kadarzi's behavior of regularly weighing his body had a p value of 0.037, a p value of 0.000 for giving exclusive breast milk and a p value of 0.021 for giving a variety of foods. This research can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between Kadarzi behavior and the nutritional status of toddlers at Posyandu Medang Kamolan RW 12 is an important indicator in nutritionally aware families related to the nutritional status of toddlers.

Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder in which the body does not produce enough insulin or the glucose level in the blood exceeds the normal limit, which is >130 mg/dL for fasting blood sugar levels. There are 4 pillars of management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, including nutrient therapy and pharmacology. Diabetic patients can apply nutrient therapy by adjusting the diet with the 3J principles (amount, schedule, and type). Pharmacological therapy can be carried out by routinely taking antidiabetic drugs according to the recommended dosage. Objective: The aim of the study was to describe dietary compliance and fasting blood sugar levels in people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Method: This type of research is a quantitative pre-experimental study with one group pre-test-post-test design, with 34 using a purposive sampling method. The instrument in this study used MMAS-8. Result: The results of the univariate analysis showed that most of the research respondents were women (55.9%) with an age range of 61-70 years (64.7%), last education level was high school (47.1%), privately owned employees (55.9%), and duration of suffering from DM <5 years (100%). Conclusion: A significant relationship exists between diet adherence and fasting blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: Based on this research, it is expected that people with type 2 diabetes mellitus can apply a good diet pattern and regularly consume anti-diabetic drugs according to the recommendations of health workers.

Abstract

Background: Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is the main cause of death globally, including in Indonesia. Hemodynamic monitoring by nurses is essential in the management of AMI. Apart from pharmacological therapy, post-AMI rehabilitation is important to prevent complications, by paying attention to psychological aspects with foot massage therapy the patient can relax so that the hemodynamic status is stable. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of the effect of implementing foot massage therapy on changes in hemodynamic status in Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) patients in Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Hospital. Method: This research used a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a pre-test post-test with control design method. The research sample was 58 respondents divided into 2 groups randomly. Results: The results of the Paired Sample T-Test analysis showed that 28 respondents were given foot massage therapy and the hospital therapy program had an effect on the stability of the hemodynamic status of AMI patients, with a p-value of SBP 0.003, DBP 0.001, MAP 0.042, HR 0.001, and RR 0.002. Conclusion: This research shows that foot massage therapy for 15-20 minutes a day for 3 days can stabilize the hemodynamic status of AMI patients.Keyword :  hemodynamic status, foot massage therapy, acute myocardial infarction

Abstract

The most important monitoring of acute myocardial infarction patients is monitoring the hemodynamic system because it affects the function of oxygen delivery in the body and involves heart function. This research aimed to find out the condition of the stability of blood pressure, mean artery pressure and respiratory rate in Acute Myocardial Infarction patients in the critical care unit, Surakarta. The method used an analytical observation design with a cross-sectional approach. The samples were 56 subjects. The results show statistical tests of respiratory aids, namely nasal cannula and non-rebreathing mask on hemodynamic status including systolic, diastolic blood pressure, mean artery pressure, and respiratory rate in the critical care unit, Surakarta, there is a significant relationship between the use of respiratory aids and hemodynamic status as evidenced by the value (p value <0.05). The conclusion suggests that it’s better the fulfillment of oxygen therapy needs with the proper respiratory aids (nasal cannula and non-rebreathing mask, the better the patient's hemodynamic status, especially in terms of blood pressure, mean artery pressure, and respiratory rate which are important indicators in the stability of acute myocardial infarction patients.

Abstract

Haemodynamic status which influences to serious condition of AMI. Observing the blood pressure, mean artery pressure, and heart rate are the main parameter of haemodynamic. One of the intervention to AMI patient aim to prevent the expansion of heart attack, also decrease pre-load and after-load with oxygen therapy supply. This study aimed to know the influence oxygen therapy supply to haemodynamic status in patient with AMI in Emergency Instalation of RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. This study was a Pre Experimental Research with One Group Pre-post Test Design conducted one group of AMI patients who observed in haemodynamic status (blood pressure, mean artery pressure, and heart rate) before and after oxygen therapy supply. Research showed that 30 respondent with systolic (t = 6,662, p value<0,05 is 0,000), dyastolic (Z = -3,763, p value<0,05 is 0,000), mean artery pressure (t = 5,879, p value<0,05 is 0,000), and heart rate (Z = -2,976, p value<0,05 is 0,003). The conclusion showed p value<0,05 so it means that oxygen therapy supply affects haemodynamic status in patient with Acute Myocardial Infarction. Â
