Abstract

This study focuses on elucidation of the perception of actors in education toward the use of technology in the 2013 Indonesian Education Curriculum (C-13). The study was done at SMA Plus YPHB and SMAN 4 Bogor, high schools located in Bogor City, West Java, Indonesia. The specific policy that underlies this study is the Regulation of Ministry of Education and Culture No.70/2013 in the point of completion mindsets No. 6 about the shift from single tool learning to multimedia-tool based learning. This paper integrates mixed methods?qualitative and quantitative methods, which use questionnaires and interview by incorporating Extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) using path regression analyses. The subjects of the research are teachers and students in the schools, an education practitioner, and an educational policy advisor. Furthermore, the assessment was done toward the perceptions of educational technology infrastructure, such as computers/laptops, projectors, speaker, Internet, software application and mobiles. The results show that Perceived Usefulness (PU) is better shaped by Perceived Ease of Use (PEU), Attitude Toward Using (ATU) is influenced by PEU, and Intention to Use (IU) is significantly affected by ATU. However, the external variables are novel for teachers and students. For teachers, the external variables do not determine PU, yet age influences PU for students. Thus, teachers and students show good intention to use the technology providing they embrace positive attitudes in using it.

Abstract

Policy making in a democratic country must be inclusive—involving the participation of various segments of society, youth is no exception to be left behind. The attempt made by the public to influence this process is called policy advocacy. There are various problems in this country that require policy advocacy, one of which is the climate crisis. Since the problem is quite complex and has many sub-facets, the climate crisis needs a serious policy instrument from the government. One of the issues that is closely related to the climate crisis is the use of single-use plastic bags. This study aims to look at youth participation in policy advocacy related to the ban on the single-use plastic bags in DKI Jakarta and Bali Provinces. Using a qualitative approach, this study compares youth organizations that carry out policy advocacy in each province—namely Gerakan Indonesia Diet Kantong Plastik (GIDKP) in DKI Jakarta and Bye Bye Plastics Bag (BBPB) in Bali. Based on Hart’s ladder of youth participation, it appears that youth participation in GIDKP’s campaign activities is at level 6 (adult-inisiated shared decisions with youth) while BBPB’s is already at level 8 (youth-initiated shared decisions with adults)—but only reaches level 3 (tokenism) for direct government lobbying. Thus, based on Gen and Wright’s framework of policy advocacy strategies , it can be concluded that GIDKP carries out direct reform strategy whilst BBPB tends to use popular power strategy. There needs to be a collaboration between both organization’s specific strategies and competencies to achieve their mutual policy advocacy goal.

Abstract

Abstract. This study seeks to explain the important factors that cause the ineffectiveness of religious education in carrying out its function as a tool to promote the value of religious tolerance. This research is a case study at one of the State Senior High Schools in Bogor City. Policy analysis was carried out on three fundamental aspects, namely religious education policy analysis, curriculum and textbook analysis, and analysis of teachers’ perceptions of religious tolerance. The results of the study show that the discrepancy between the goals of religious education policies and the high potential for intolerance among students is driven by three things, namely; 1). Islamic education policies inacted indirectly encourage the application of the mono-religious education model, 2). the existence of teaching materials that contain elements of judgment against certain religious groups, 3). the teacher’s understanding of religious tolerance stops at the level of passive tolerance. Keywords: Islamic Education Policy, Islamic Religious Education, Religious Tolerance

Abstract

Increasing cases of gamers in Indonesia reaching 34 million and addicted users to games have an impact on physical and psychological conditions. These phenomena need suitable intervention and government concern. Many alternatives can be an option. This study aims to identify the influence of E-sport Curriculum Policy toward Game Addiction among adolescents. This research uses a mixed-method in which the quantitative analysis uses regression data analyses in 4-scale of Likert and qualitative uses interview. The key question is based on Leman’s measurement criteria in gaming addiction, Custer and Russel’s E-sport Curriculum through feasibility test in the form of reliability test and validity test. The sample of this study are adolescents including junior and senior high school students with purposive random sampling. The hypothesis result shows the value of R-Square is 0.509 meaning that the proportion of variants of the game addiction behavior described by all independent variables is 50.9%, while 49.1% is influenced by other variables not examined. The combination of cognitive and behavioral aspects of the e-sports curriculum is believed to be a solution. The knowledge provided is in line with the treatment of game addiction players, and what is done will cause a reflection effect in line with the experts’ point of view.

Abstract

A future forecast for 2030-2040 predicts that Indonesia will face a demographic bonus, in which the productive aging population is greater than the unproductive age population. Graduates are expected to compete for a job on the national and international levels. It is a challenge where the Indonesian government began to enforce revitalization towards industries to collaborate with schools, and industries are expected to contribute to the implementation of the teaching factory, as both can contribute a mutual advantage in the long run. This research aims to illustrate the Indonesian government's progress, starting from 2016-2019, on revitalizing the vocational education system. This research highlights a qualitative research approach with a micro-level case study, using the teaching factory implementation parameter in VHS Suryacipta to find industries' readiness based on their perspectives, expectations, and challenges. The findings indicate the government effort has successfully improved the revitalization program. However, it still lacks field implementation. VHS Suryacipta still lacks collaboration follow-up with the industries, and the social mores of Karawang traditional society be the main factor behind the high unemployment rate. Other factors are the industries' capacity for employment, confidentiality aspect, misperception between industries and local government. Industries find difficulties matching with government agenda, which revealed that industries are not ready for collaboration.

Abstract

Bidara fruit (Ziziphus mauritiana) is known to contain various bioactive phytochemicals, including phenolic acid, ascorbic acid, saponins, terpenoids, flavonoids, and tannins, making it highly promising for development into functional beverage products. Several studies state that fermentation with probiotic bacteria can improve the functional properties of products. This research aims to optimize the fermentation process of bidara fruit juice with Lactobacillus plantarum InaCC B616 using Response Surface Methodology and determine the effect of fermentation time on the content of bioactive compounds such as total phenols, total flavonoids, antioxidant capacity, and inhibition of the α-glucosidase enzyme. Optimization of fermentation was carried out using a Central composite design with 13 experimental samples and test data using Design Expert® 13 software, the optimization of fermentation time was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment groups and three replications per group, including a negative control treatment: no fermentation (F0), fermentation for 12 hours (F1), fermentation for 24 hours (F2), and fermentation for 48 hours (F3). The research results showed that 18.61% bidara fruit juice and 0.34% skim milk was the optimum formula for fermenting bidara fruit juice. The best fermentation duration was in the F3 group (fermentation for 48 hours), in this group the bacterial growth reached 3.1x109 cfu/mL with a total phenolic compound content of 81.80 mg GAE/mL, total flavonoids 2.81 mg QE/g, capacity antioxidant 99.28 µg AAE/mL, and inhibition of the α-glucosidase enzyme 87.42%. The fermentation of bidara fruit juice with Lactobacillus plantarum InaCC B616 has the potential to enhance total phenol content, total flavonoids, antioxidant capacity, and α-glucosidase enzyme inhibition, making it a promising candidate for probiotic beverages. This drink could be developed as an alternative treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus due to its inhibitory activity against the α-glucosidase enzyme.
