Abstract

Purpose: This study addresses the challenge of low community knowledge in Kayu Manis village, aiming to boost interest and skills in duck farming. The primary objective is to elevate community understanding by applying silage technology to convert vegetable waste into duck feed. Method: Through training sessions involving socialization, practical demonstrations, and hands-on practice, participants learn to create vegetable waste silage as duck feed. Pre- and post-test evaluation reveals significant sequential improvements of 88.15%, 7.69%, and 89.23% in knowledge, interest, and skills. Practical Applications: The outcomes offer practical benefits for the community and potential scalability for similar agricultural sectors. Silage technology proves valuable in enhancing sustainable farming practices. Conclusion: In conclusion, the community-based intervention focusing on making vegetable waste silage effectively achieves its goals of enhancing participants' knowledge, interest, and skills in duck farming. The sequential increases of 88.15%, 7.69%, and 89.23% underscore the training program's success. The practical applications extend beyond Kayu Manis village, demonstrating the broader relevance and impact of implementing silage technology in agricultural practices. This research contributes significantly to addressing the initial problem outlined in the introduction, emphasizing the importance of sustainable and innovative approaches in community-based agrarian interventions.

Abstract

This study examines the perceptions of students of the Department of Information Science and Library FBS UNP Class of 2021 towards information search using ChatGPT. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The research population was 249 students with a sample of 72 students. The sampling technique used simple random sampling technique. Data analysis in this study by verifying the data, then tabulating and processing the data by calculating using the mean formula to calculate the average per statement item, as well as calculating the grand mean to calculate the total average of each indicator. The results showed that the perceptions of students of the Department of Information Science and Library FBS UNP 2021 Angaktan towards information search using ChatGPT have responded well.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of the addition of Effective Microorganisms-4 (EM4) on changes in the proximate composition of palm oil solids during the fermentation process. The study design used EM4 treatments with different concentrations (0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, and 1.5% stored for 14 days. The parameters observed included moisture, ash, protein, fat, and crude fiber content. The results showed that moisture and ash content tended to decrease with increasing EM4 concentration and fermentation time. Protein content decreased significantly in the EM4 treatment compared to the control, indicating the utilization of organic nitrogen by microorganisms. Conversely, fat content increased in the 1.5% EM4 treatment, presumably due to the activity of lipolytic enzymes and microbial lipid biosynthesis. Crude fiber content showed a decreasing trend in the EM4 treatment, reflecting the degradation of cellulose and lignin by cellulolytic enzymes. Overall, the addition of EM4 can improve the nutritional quality of palm oil solids by reducing crude fiber and complex proteins and increasing the fat fraction at certain concentrations, so it has the potential to be used as an alternative feed ingredient for poultry

Abstract

Salah satu pekerjaan utama masyarakat Kelurahan Simpang Nangka Kecamatan Selupu Rejang adalah sebagai petani sub bidang hortikultura dan memiliki hobi memelihara hewan kesayangan seperti anjing, kucing. Namun sebagain besar masyarakat belum mengatahui bahwa hewan yang dipelihara tersebut memiliki rabies yang dapat menular. Untuk menimalisir potensi penularan rabies dialakukan tahapan sosialisasi, vaksinasi, dan evaluasi yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengatahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya vaksinasi rabies dan mengurangi risiko penularan penyakit rabies di Kelurahan Simpang Nangka. Hasil pre-test ini menunjukkan bahwa hanya 40 %  responden yang memiliki pengetahuan tentang penyakit rabies, yang dapat disebabkan oleh kurangnya kesadaran untuk memvaksin hewan peliharaannya. Namun, setelah dilaksankan kegiatan sosialisasi dan vaksinasi penyakit rabies terdapat perubahan pengetahuan peserta tentang penyakit rabies, penyebab, jenis-jenis hewan penular, tanda-tanda, gejala-gejala pada manusia, pencegahan, dan pengobatan meningkat 77.78 %. Artinya terdapat peningkatan pengatahuan dan kesadaran sebesar 37.78 %

Abstract

This study aims to examine the community’s decision-making process for purchasing culled layer chicken meat and to identify the factors that affect its consumption in the Selupu Rejang Subdistrict. The research was conducted from April to June 2024 in Talang Lahat, Baru Palbatu, Simpang Nangka, and Karang Jaya Urban Villages. The sample comprised 60 respondents, selected through purposive sampling based on the criterion of consuming culled layer chicken meat. The analysis of factors affecting the consumption of purchasing culled layer chicken meat employed multiple linear regression.  The results show an Adjusted R² of 0.639, indicating that the independent variables explain 63.9 percent of the variance in culled layer chicken meat consumption. Simultaneously, the independent variables significantly influence the consumption. The independent variables with a significant effect are family size, education level, and broiler chicken meat price. Family size and education level have substantial adverse effects (P < 0.05), whereas broiler chicken price has a significant positive impact (P < 0.05) on consumption of culled layer chicken meat. The decision-making process in consuming culled layer chicken meat includes need recognition, information search, evaluation of alternatives, purchase decision, and post-purchase behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an instructional medium in the form of a documentary video to enhance the learning interest of pre-service teacher students in the Islamic Cultural History (SKI) course on the topic of the Abbasid Dynasty. The research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method with key stages including needs identification, media design, product development, and initial evaluation. The video development process utilizes artificial intelligence technologies such as ChatGPT for scriptwriting, Gemini AI for creating image illustrations, and CapCut for video editing, animation, and audio processing. The final product is an engaging, interactive, and informative documentary video that presents the history of the Abbasid Dynasty with modern visual style and easy-to-understand narration. The video not only delivers historical information but also fosters curiosity and active engagement among students during the learning process. Based on the initial evaluation, this media is considered effective in increasing attention and learning motivation among pre-service teacher students. The use of documentary videos is expected to become an innovative Islamic education learning medium that meets the needs of the digital generation and contributes positively to improving the quality of teaching and learning in higher education. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbentuk video dokumenter guna meningkatkan minat belajar mahasiswa calon guru pada mata kuliah Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam (SKI) materi Daulah Abbasiyah. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan tahapan utama meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan, perancangan media, pengembangan produk, dan evaluasi awal. Pengembangan video dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi berbasis kecerdasan buatan seperti ChatGPT untuk penyusunan narasi, Gemini AI untuk pembuatan ilustrasi gambar, dan CapCut untuk pengeditan video, animasi, serta pengolahan suara. Hasil pengembangan menghasilkan video dokumenter yang menarik, interaktif, dan informatif, yang menampilkan sejarah Daulah Abbasiyah dengan gaya visual modern dan narasi yang mudah dipahami. Video ini tidak hanya menyampaikan informasi sejarah, tetapi juga menumbuhkan rasa ingin tahu dan keterlibatan aktif mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi awal, media ini dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan perhatian dan motivasi belajar mahasiswa calon guru. Penggunaan video dokumenter diharapkan dapat menjadi inovasi media pembelajaran PAI yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan generasi digital, serta memberikan kontribusi positif dalam peningkatan kualitas proses belajar mengajar di perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

This study explores the role of value-oriented English textbooks in connecting language learning with moral, cultural, and character education values. In many Indonesian classrooms, commercial textbooks dominate and often fail to represent local contexts or ethical perspectives. Using a qualitative library research design grounded in a constructivist approach, this study reviews 25 relevant publications published between 2020 and 2025. The data were examined through coding and thematic interpretation to identify major ideas in the development of value-based English materials. The findings reveal that textbooks designed with cultural and moral awareness can strengthen students’ communication skills, ethical sensitivity, and sense of identity. However, most current textbooks still prioritize standardized global content over local and spiritual values. Therefore, the study emphasizes the need for English textbooks that balance linguistic goals with character formation, particularly within Islamic and Indonesian educational contexts.
