Abstract

The production of electrical energy from burning of coal produced  large amounts of fly ash waste. Fly ash had the potential to be used as soil ameliorant material because it has a very fine size. The purpose of the research was to to develop a new alternative organic fertilizer and to find out the contents of micronutrients and heavy metal on organic fertilizer with fly ash matterials. The research was conducted by composting some organic matterials that consisted of fly ash, poultry manure, peanute litter, dusk of ripsaw and "Ares" of banana stalk in some comparisons. The selection of the the best organic fertilizer based on the ranking method. The result of this research showed that the selected organic fertilizer was fertilizer that given 10% of fly ash. The  micronutrientss content of the organic fertilizer was low for Cu, Mn and Zn element but the Fe element was high. The heavy metals content of the fertilizer was low for As, Cd, Hg and Pb.

Abstract

AA5083 series aluminum is one of the primary materials used in ship construction due to its excellent weldability in conventional welding processes, such as arc welding. However, similar to other aluminum alloys, the weakness of AA5083 is the occurrence of frost cracking during the welding process, especially in the HAZ and the large amount of distortion.. The research was conducted by providing additional treatment in the form of in-situ rolling on friction stir welding (FSW). The in-situ rolling treatment used a single roll positioned directly on the weld area and behind the FSW tool and moving simultaneously with the welding process and with a roll load of 8000N. The characterization carried out included thermal cycle measurements, microstructure observations, hardness value distribution testing, distortion measurements and tensile testing. The results showed that the largest distortion value occurred in the welded material without additional treatment (as welded) of 2.81 mm, while in the material with additional treatment (mechanical), the distortion value was smaller at 1.1 mm. The mechanical specimen had the best mechanical qualities, with a tensile strength of 225.5 MPa and an average hardness value of 61 VHN, whereas the as-welded specimen's tensile strength was 201.8 MPa. This phenomenon occurs because the specimen, with the addition of in situ rolling, experiences grain refinement, and it seems that this is consistent with the Hall-Petch relationship, σ_y=σ_0+k_y d^(-1/2)Materials with fine grains are harder and stronger than materials with coarse grains, because fine grains have a larger total grain boundary area to hinder dislocation movement. The tensile fracture position was in the advancing side region, where higher heat input occurred in this region than in the retreating side.

Abstract

Kabupaten Cilacap memiliki potensi perikanan tangkap yang sangat besar, namun hasil tangkapan ikan tidak hanya terdiri atas jenis-jenis ikan yang diinginkan, tetapi juga terdiri atas jenis ikan-ikan kecil yang kurang diminati oleh pasar atau disebut sebagai ikan rucah. Ikan rucah yang tidak bernilai ekonomis pada umumnya hanya dibiarkan membusuk dan dibuang ke lingkungan. Tujuan utama kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengoptimalkan pengelolaan hasil laut di wilayah Cilacap, dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan hasil samping tangkapan ikan dan mengurangi jumlah ikan rucah yang terbuang percuma ke lingkungan. Metode pengabdian yang diterapkan untuk menjadi solusi adalah sosialisasi dan penerapan teknologi alat pemisah daging dan tulang ikan rucah. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan tingginya antusiasme masyarakat dalam penerapan teknologi, sehingga 70% dari masyarakat yang mengikuti kegiatan telah mampu mengoperasikan mesin secara mandiri termasuk dalam aspek keamanan dan perawatan dasar, dan masyarakat telah mampu mengolah ikan rucah dengan kapasitas mencapai 50 kg/jam.

Abstract

This research aims to design a decomposing blade, sieving system, and test machine products. The method for completing coconut fiber processing machines consists of three stages, namely the design and production process stages, as well as machine product testing. This research produces the following data, namely the design of the untangling knife which is a combination of the functions of the coir untangling knife for random and woven results. Calculation of the equilibrium moment on the shaft obtained a value of 𝑅𝑉𝐵 is 28.68 N and the reaction at point A was 𝑅𝑉𝐴 is 28.32 N, with the diameter of the shaft used in the coconut fiber sieving machine transmission system being Ø28 mm. Fiber uniformity is obtained from twice decomposition processes, whereas the level of fiber/powder uniformity is influenced by the long sieving process time and also the high rotational speed of the sieve.

Abstract

The technique of spreading fertilizer on rice plants is an important part of equalizing land fertility. In general, farmers use their hands to spread granular fertilizer. The spreading process results in an irregular distribution of fertilizer and also takes a relatively long time. The aim of this research is to design a granular fertilizer spreader based on a technical evaluation of the concept. The Pahl and Beitz design method became a theoretical reference in finalizing the design of the granular fertilizer spreader form. Working drawings are prepared based on ISO standards using Solidwork 2018 software. Based on the results of the technical evaluation of the concept, the design of the granular fertilizer spreader is composed of thirty-three constituent components.
