Abstract

This paper aims to examine the process of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) employee in hospitality industry especially in hotel and restaurant. The author test the role of transformational leadership and mediation role of affective commitment and work engagement toward OCB in workplace. Data were colleted from 218 hospitality employees in frontliner area.  Instrument convergen and discriminant validity and hypothesize test using structural equation model - partial least square (SEM-PLS) method with SMART PLS 3.  The result show that transformational leadership have positive effect toward OCB. In addition,  affective commitment and work engagement also show partial mediation effect in relationship between transformational leadership and OCB in workplace. The results showed that transformational leadership has no direct effect on OCB like most other Asian studies. This study found that transformational leadership can influence OCB through the mediating effect of affective commitment and work engagement. These results are expected to enrich the psychological mechanisms that can explain the effect of transformaional leadership on OCB. Future research is expected to be able to explain a more comprehensive flow of transformational leadership, affective commitment, work engagement and OCB.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the process of forming the Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) of employees in the hotel industry. This study also uses affective commitment and work engagement as mediating variables to clarify the mechanisms for the effect of transformational leadership on OCB. The design of this study is a quantitative study using a survey method through distributing questionnaires to frontline employees in the hospitality industry.  250 questionnaires distributed there were 218 that can be used. By testing using the Structural Equation Model - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method with SMART PLS 3, it was found that transformational leadership has no direct effect on OCB like most other Asian studies. Affective commitment and work engagement show partial mediating effects in the relationship between transformational leadership and OCB in the workplace. This study found that transformational leadership can influence OCB through the mediating effects of affective commitment and job involvement. These results are expected to enrich the psychological mechanisms that can explain the effect of transformational leadership on OCB. Future research is expected to be able to explain a more comprehensive flow of transformational leadership, affective commitment, work engagement, and OCB.

Abstract

asa pandemi dirasa memiliki banyak dampak oleh masyarakat Desa Kandangan. Peningkatan beberapa harga komoditas menjadi permasa-lahan ekonomi rumah tangga, terlebih pendapatan yang diterima tetap sama atau bahkan menurun selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Harga bahan pangan pokok juga beberapa meningkat sehingga memerlukan alternatif  oleh  masyarakat sendiri untuk mengurangi pengeluaran, salah satunya dapat terwujud melalui penerapan warung hidup dari pekarangan sendiri. Oleh karena itu kegiatan KKN berdasarkan domisili dari Universitas Sebelas Maret memberikan pelatihan mengenai upaya peningkatan ketahanan pangan masyarakat selama Pandemi Covid-19 dengan menerapkan teknik budidaya hidroponik, selain mengurangi pengeluaran juga menjaga kualitas pangan agar kesehatan selama pandemi terjaga. Antusiasme peserta selama keber-jalanan pelatihan penanaman dengan tekni hidroponik sangat baik hingga masyarakat selain peerta juga ikut andil dalam   kegiatan   pengamatan   perkembangan   hasil   pelatihan.   Hasil   hidroponik   tersebut diharapkan   dapat   dikonsumsi   oleh   masayrakat   Desa   Kandangan   sendiri   dan   dapat dikomersilkan bila  hasil  produksinya  banyak.  Untuk mendukung dan memotivasi  dalam menjual hasil tersebut, diselenggarakan webinar dengan tujuan out-putnya yakni menambah dan meningkatkan  skill  wirausaha.  Selain ketahanan   pangan   dari   menjaga   kualitas   pangan,  kon-disi   kesehatan   masyarakat   Desa Kandangan juga perlu dijaga dengan menambah tingkat kepedulian akan bahaya virus Covid-19. Untuk mengurangi penyebaran virus dan meningkatkan kepedulian masyarakat yang masih tak acuh dengan tidak menerapkan protokol kesehatan, tim pengabdian masyarakat membuat fasilitas alat cuci tangan injak untuk digunakan oleh masyarakat Desa Kandangan.

Abstract

Using the JD-R Theory approach, this study aims to examine the effect of psychological capital and service climate on the intention to leave BTN KC Solo employees with employee engagement as a mediator and organizational hierarchy as a moderator. The research was carried out with a quantitative approach that is cross-sectional in nature by collecting data through survey techniques. Respondents in this study were BTN KC Solo employees in the city of Surakarta with a total of 130 people and were collected through an online questionnaire using a purposive sampling technique. The analytical method in this study is Hierarchical Multiple Regression Analysis, and the data is processed using Smart PLS 3.0 software. The results of the study show that psychological capital and service climate have a positive effect on employee engagement. In addition, it was also found that employee engagement has a negative effect on intention to leave. Work engagement also mediates the effect of service climate and psychological capital on intention to leave. In addition, this study also shows that there is a difference between the level of employees at the manager and frontline level in each of the direct effects described in this study. These results indicate that managers have greater work engagement and have less intention to leave than employees at the staff level.Dengan menggunakan pendekatan Teori JD-R, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh modal psikologis dan iklim layanan terhadap niat keluar karyawan BTN KC Solo dengan keterikatan karyawan sebagai mediator dan hirarki organisasi sebagai moderator. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bersifat cross-sectional dengan pengumpulan data melalui teknik survei. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah pegawai BTN KC Solo di kota Surakarta dengan jumlah 130 orang dan dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner online dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah Hierarchical Multiple Regression Analysis, dan data diolah melalui software Smart PLS 3.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modal psikologis dan iklim layanan berpengaruh positif terhadap keterikatan karyawan. Selain itu, ditemukan juga bahwa keterikatan karyawan berpengaruh negatif terhadap keinginan keluar. Keterikatan kerja juga memediasi pengaruh iklim pelayanan dan modal psikologis terhadap keinginan keluar. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menunjukkan adanya perbedaan antara level karyawan pada level manager dan frontline pada masing-masing efek langsung yang dijelaskan pada penelitian ini. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa manajer memiliki keterikatan kerja lebih besar dan memiliki niat untuk berpindah semakin kecil dibandingkan dengan karyawan pada level staff.

Abstract

Background: In the digital era, SMEs must adapt to technological advancements to remain competitive. Digital literacy is increasingly recognized as a crucial factor in enhancing entrepreneurial skills and business performance. Purpose: The aim is to uncover how improving digital literacy can lead to better business outcomes for SMEs. Design/methodology/approach: The research targeted 101 SMEs from manufacturing and trade sectors in the Greater Solo area. Data were collected through online surveys and offline methods. Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was used to test the hypotheses.Findings/Result: The study found that digital literacy positively affects the development of entrepreneurial skills, which in turn enhances business performance. Performance was measured through revenue growth, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. Digital literacy is a key driver of entrepreneurial skills development and improved business performance in SMEs. Investing in digital literacy can significantly enhance SMEs' competitive edge and overall success.Conclusion: The research concludes that digital technology is vital for improving SMEs' performance and competitiveness by expanding market access, attracting customers, and increasing sales. Additionally, digital literacy is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency, product and service innovation, and customer communication.Originality/value (State of the art): The research broadens the understanding of digital literacy, positioning it as more than just a technical skill. It shows that digital literacy equips SMEs with essential tools for market access, operational efficiency, innovation, and customer communication. By linking digital literacy to strategic business study highlights its critical importance in navigating the modern digital economy. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on all service industries, specifically hospitality, which has become increasingly competitive. Therefore, innovation and service improvement are needed to provide the best service for consumers by determining the voice behavior of their employees. This study examines the effect of transformational leadership on employee voice behavior, specifically frontline at hotels in Central Java. The mediating variables consisting of work and engagement were used to clarify the mechanism related to the effect of transformational leadership on voice behavior. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling, namely by using the criteria of frontline employees who have worked for at least 1 year. Data were collected from 216 frontline employers at hotels and analyzed using the SEM PLS. The result showed that transformational leadership and work engagement can indirectly promote employee voice behavior. Furthermore, the meaning of work can promote voice behavior with a longer mechanism through work engagement.
