Abstract

This research was motivated by the author's interest in the short story Nusantara Abad 16 by Eko Darmoko which deals with violence against female characters. The method in this research is a qualitative method that produces written data from texts that refer to social problems. The techniques used are data collection, data analysis, and presentation of data analysis results. After conducting research, it can be concluded that there is a form of violence against women in the short story Nusantara Abad 16. Data collection techniques used library, reading and note-taking methods. The library technique is using written sources to obtain data. The problem discussed in this research is how the forms of violence against one of the female characters in the short story Nusantara Abad 16 consist of public violence, namely: sexual violence and non-sexual violence. This research aims to describe forms of violence against women and explain the causes of violence against women in the short story Nusantara Abad 16.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the Pır Le Maker application on student learning outcomes in listening to news text material in class XI. This study uses a pre-experimental design method, one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used by the researcher is purposive sampling. The number of samples used is 30 students. Data collection techniques using interviews, tests, documentation, Data analysis techniques for this study: validity test, reliability test, normality test and paired sample t-test. The research instrument is an essay test of 20 questions. Based on the results of the study and data analysis, the ability to listen to news texts of students in class XI before using the puzzle maker media or pretest has an average of 67.86 Then after using the puzzle maker media or posttest there is an increase with an average of 83.23 Based on the paired sample test 1 test shows a sig value level (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 with the results of the hypothesis Ho rejected and H, accepted. The conclusion of this study is that the use of the puzzle maker application has a positive influence on student learning outcomes in listening to news text material. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for teachers and curriculum developers in integrating interactive and interesting learning technology in the learning process.

Abstract

This non-fiction story writing training was carried out with the aim that students from the Srikaton village youth groups could improve their writing skills and understanding of studying news in social media and its application in their daily environment. The focus of the training on writing non-fiction stories for students among the youth groups in Srikaton village consists of active students on campuses in East OKU district such as: STIE, STIPER, STIT MU, STKIP Muhammadiyah, STIT NU Sumber Agung, STISIP Binamarta. The training will follow the protocol. health measures from the government such as setting a one meter seat apart, preparing a handwashing area, and using a mask. The benefits that participants can get from this activity are being able to create a non-fiction story and understand news on social media so that they are wiser in applying it in everyday life.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan memberikan pendampingan menyimak cerita melalui media audio visual pada siswa TK Paku Sengkunyit Martapura kabupaten OKU Timur yang dilakukan sebagai kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat. Pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya permasalahan yang dihadapi siswa dalam pembelajaran menyimak cerita. Dalam pembelajaran menyimak cerita siswa sering merasa jenuh dan tidak terlalu memperhatikan apa yang mereka simak yang mengakibatkan menurunnya hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam menyimak cerita melalui media audio visual. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui 3 tahapan, yaitu tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaaan, dan evaluasi. Subyek dalam kegiatan ini adalah siswa TK Paku Sengkunyit Martapura. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah siswa dapat lebih memahami, dan termotivasi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran menyimak cerita. Setelah dilakukan kegiatan ini maka motivasi siswa dalam menyimak cerita meningkat. Hal tersebut dapat dicermati melalui keaktifan dan antusiasme yang ditunjukkan dalam setiap proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan.

Abstract

Listening is a learning process carried out by students to carry out listening activities, understand, evaluate and respond to what has been heard. Listening skills are receptive language skills because in this skill the meaning of language is obtained and processed through symbols and verbally. Based on what will be done in this community service activity, the listening skills of English stories in grade V students at MI Nurul Huda Sukaraja school are still focused on mastering grammar and vocabulary structure which is done through Drilling Activities and the low ability and interest in listening to a story using the story telling method. In this service, several problems were found in listening skills, namely (1) the implementation of the English listening skills process is still focused on the teacher (Teacher Center Learning), 2) Students are busy with their friends and often play, (3) there is no interaction between teachers when given a question because students have not mastered the material and have not understood it, and (4) students are not interested and not enthusiastic during the learning process. It can be concluded from this listening that many failures in the learning process occur because the teacher and students do not understand or the teacher has not provided an understanding of how to listen well and correctly and that listening skills are needed as a basis for improving learning. The purpose of this community service activity focuses on skills and applying students in listening to English stories using the story telling method in English learning. The desired result is to improve English story listening skills using the story telling method in English learning properly according to the material provided, students are very enthusiastic in this service and enjoy this listening skills material. based on the results of the mentoring and the diagram, it can be described that 85% of students listened to the English story (18 students listened and 3 did not listen from a total of 21 students), then 87% of students understood the English story and 40% of students did not understand the English story (16 students understood and 5 students did not understand from a total of 21 students), if all aspects of the mentoring in listening to the story are added up, the average score is 70% seen from these results, the mentoring in listening to English stories with the storytelling method at MI Nurul Huda has increased from these results, it is included in the criteria for students to understand listening to English stories with the storytelling method, especially in the digital era, many use gadgets where students often use games to play rather than listening to English stories with the storytelling method.

Abstract

Background: Innovation in learning methods is essential to improve students' creativity and entrepreneurial competence. The STEAM learning model with ecoprint-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) is one method that can be used. This study aims to determine the effect of the STEAM learning model through eco print-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on students' creativity and entrepreneurial competence with students whose learning uses conventional learning models (discovery learning). Method: This study used a quasi-experimental method with a Non-equivalent control group design. The research sample selection technique used purposive sampling of class X students at a high school in Sukabumi City for the 2023/2024 academic year. Results: The study showed that students' creativity in the experimental class obtained an average value of 82±0.24 percent and entrepreneurial competence of 86±0.38 percent, both in the outstanding category. The hypothesis test results obtained a significance value of Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 for both variables, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Conclusion: This study implies that using the STEAM model through Ecoprint-based LKPD can be an alternative effective learning model in improving students' creativity and entrepreneurial competence. The implications of this study indicate the need for broader development of the Ecoprint project-based STEAM model to support practical and innovative learning.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan bekal kepada siswa untuk menjadi Master of Ceremony (MC) yang professional. Kegiatan ini berangkat dari permasalahan  yang terjadi di lapangan dapat  ditemukan  rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara, terutama public speaking. Materi yang diberikan pada pelatihan ini meliputi: pengantar public speaking (retorika dan etika MC), membangun dan meningkatkan rasa percaya diri, teknik mengelola vocal,  mengenal berbagai jenis acara, teknik berbicara dimuka umum, dan penguasaan suasana/acara. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah materi dapat diterima dengan baik oleh peserta dan mendapatkan respon yang positif. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah peserta dapat 1).Memahami dasar-dasar dan teknik MC, 2) mengetahui dan memahami syarat-syarat, tugas dan etika MC, 3) berlatih MC dalam membuka, memandu berlangsungnya acara sampai menutup acara formal, 4) mampu memandu acara dalam menampilkan citra diri sesuai tema dan naskah acara, 5) mengatur vokal dan penampilan diri sesuai tuntutan acara.
