Abstract

This research project examines the experiences and performance of two small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the imported second-hand clothes industry following the implementation of Regulation of the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia No. 40 of 2022. The study involves two distinct sellers, one from the Jamblang Traditional Market and the other from the Nangka Traditional Market. The performance is assessed according to five dimensions: sales revenue, profit rate, distribution process, consumer traffic, and unexpected impacts. The qualitative method was utilized as the approach in this research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis, and were subsequently analyzed using NVIVO 12. The findings of this research indicate that the implementation of the import ban on used clothes has a negligible impact on the performance of the two small retailers under study. The impact is initially experienced by the retailers, but as time progresses, the regulation is no longer perceived as a threat.

Abstract

This research project aims to investigate the impact of financial leverage, intangible assets, and earnings management on corporate risk within the manufacturing sector. The principal objective is to comprehend the manner in which these variables interact and exert influence on the overall risk profile of companies within this pivotal economic sector. Quantitative research methodology, utilizing secondary data sourced from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data collection process entails the documentation of financial reports and pertinent metrics, thereby facilitating a comprehensive analysis of the relationships between the identified variables. The application of statistical analysis techniques allows for the assessment of the significance and strength of these relationships, thereby providing insights into the dynamics of corporate risk management. The findings demonstrate that elevated financial leverage is linked to augmented financial risk, as organizations with substantial debt burdens encounter heightened difficulties in fulfilling their obligations during economic downturns. Furthermore, the existence of intangible assets, while potentially advantageous for growth, also introduces an element of uncertainty that can have a detrimental impact on corporate risk. Furthermore, the findings indicate that earnings management practices can distort the accurate representation of a company's financial health, leading to misinformed decision-making by stakeholders. In conclusion, the research highlights the significance of comprehending the interrelationship between financial leverage, intangible assets, and earnings management in the context of corporate risk mitigation. The insights gained from this study can assist management in making informed strategic decisions, thereby enhancing the resilience and sustainability of manufacturing firms in the face of economic challenges.

Abstract

Public speaking is a critical skill for employees across various professional fields, especially in work environments that demand effective and representative communication. In today’s dynamic workplace, public speaking is not only essential for conveying information but also for building trust, persuading audiences, and reinforcing corporate image. However, many employees still lack access to formal opportunities for developing this skill. This community engagement program aimed to enhance the public speaking competence of employees at PT SPILL Indonesia through an interactive and practical training module. The training methods included interactive lectures, role-play simulations, group discussions, and direct speaking practice. Participants were guided to understand verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, manage anxiety, and develop structured and engaging presentations. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of public speaking principles, narrative construction, and confidence in public speaking. High levels of enthusiasm throughout the training reflected a strong demand for communication skill development in the workplace. This program demonstrates that a participatory and contextual training approach can serve as an effective strategy to enhance professional communication capacity within corporate environments.

Abstract

This community service program seeks to strengthen the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by implementing the Mato-Based Profit-Sharing Accounting System (ABHSM) through its integration into the digital application Inmato.ID. The methodological framework combined the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), capacity building, and participatory action research (PAR), ensuring systematic system development as well as active involvement of partner enterprises. The program was conducted with MSMEs under the OK OCE initiative, supported by Rumah Makan Padang Simpang Raya as an industry partner. The findings reveal substantial outcomes: the partners’ accounting literacy increased from 40% to 78%, production cost deviation was reduced from approximately ±20% to ±8%, and profit distribution time shortened from 2–3 weeks to a maximum of 1 week. These results demonstrate that the digitalization of ABHSM enhances efficiency, accountability, and empowerment of MSMEs, while providing a replicable model for broader application across diverse business sectors in fostering sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems.
