Abstract

The background of this Community Service activity is that PKM partners of PKK cadres in Ragunan Village have several limitations in terms of identity, packaging and product marketing. For product identity, there is no logo (label) for packaging, so the product that has been made is less known. In addition, there is no safe packaging design for the delivery of business products sold. So far, sales have only been carried out through event bazaars around Ragunan village so that there is a lack of marketing networks. Limited sales range, and the target market is not wide and diverse, revenue or sales turnover does not increase. The purpose of this PKM activity is to expand market reach, build strong product appeal, increase sales turnover and increase economic independence. The method for this PKM activity is to provide socialization and training regarding new product logos for the packaging production process on packaging labels, packaging design for shipping packaging, socializing the e-commerce application that has been made to PKK cadres of Ragunan Village. Providing training in using e-commerce platforms to market their products. The targeted output is to create an online sales application (e-commerce) to be able to market the business products of PKK cadres in Ragunan Village widely. This community service reached the main conclusion that digital marketing strategies effectively help the economic empowerment of PKK cadres' households and this strategy shows positive results in increasing their economic independence and income.

Abstract

The Snowball Throwing Games method has proven effective in enhancing students' descriptive writing skills. Beyond measurable improvements in academic performance, this interactive and collaborative approach increased student motivation and fostered a more engaging classroom atmosphere. The method encouraged active participation, creativity, and self-expression, helping students build confidence and develop their writing abilities. Moreover, the method significantly improved students’ social interaction and teamwork, which positively influenced their ability to collaborate during writing tasks. Particularly in writing classes often perceived as challenging, the dynamic and supportive environment reduced student anxiety and minimized the fear of making mistakes. Each phase of implementation was strategically designed to facilitate classroom communication and highlight various aspects of the Snowball Throwing Games technique. These included student engagement, behavioral change, the development of critical thinking skills, and the integration of digital tools to support learning goals. The findings indicate that this method is both practical and effective in improving writing proficiency while fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment.

Abstract

Psychrophilic bacteria have been widely found in extreme low-temperature environments such as the Arctic and Antarctic oceans and glacial lakes. Some of these bacteria possess the hydrolytic enzyme α-amylase, which functions to hydrolyze starch into simple sugars such as maltose, maltotriose, and glucose. The structure of psychrophilic α-amylase is highly flexible due to reduced hydrophobic interactions and an increased number of hydrophilic residues. This unique structure allows the enzyme to function optimally at low temperatures, specifically 0–20 °C. High-quality enzymes can be obtained through integrated production stages, including the isolation of psychrophilic bacteria, low-temperature fermentation, and stepwise purification. Response Surface Methodology is often employed to achieve high yet economical enzyme yields. The enzyme isolated from psychrophilic bacteria is purified through ammonium sulfate precipitation, dialysis, and several chromatographic techniques performed sequentially to obtain a pure enzyme ready for characterization. Biochemical characterization reveals high enzyme activity at low temperatures, an optimal pH range of 6.5–8.0, and a strong dependence on calcium ions to maintain structural stability. Kinetic analysis shows that psychrophilic α-amylase has a low Michaelis constant (Km), indicating high substrate affinity that enables optimal performance even when substrate availability is limited. These advantages are widely utilized in various fields, particularly the food-processing industry, such as syrup production, baking, fermented beverages, and frozen-food processing. The ability of α-amylase to function at low temperatures provides significant benefits for food processing because it reduces energy requirements, thereby lowering production costs. The application of psychrophilic α-amylase also offers a promising solution for achieving environmentally friendly food-processing industries.
