Abstract

Reading is the process of receiving information and knowledge for a better life. Reading habits should be formed by the environment. Village is the smallest environment of a country and it has a significant influence in formed a habits of their society. Cultivating Reading Culture is expected to be a good national character. The reading level of the Indonesian people is still very low and therefore a method is needed in cultivating a reading culture. Based on the other and prevous study reading motivation influences the culture of reading and reading habits. Therefor, it is crusial to find out model of teaching or motivate students or children’s to read. In order to follow up research on reading culture and support the government in finding methods to cultivate the reading culture of Indonesian people starting from remote area so that they are able to play an active role in releasing their backwardness, this research is carried out. This research was conducted in Lubuk Pauh Village, BTS ULU District, Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra. This study involved 206 village children who were under 15 years of age that randomly divided into two, the treatment group and the control group. Treatment is carried out for 16 meetings. The reading model by using children's books can improve children's reading culture in remote areas by looking at the enthusiasm of children and parents towards the implementation of activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi karena maraknya endorsement yang dilakukan para selebgram dalam media sosial instagram. Hal ini menambah fungsi instagram yang awalnya untuk berbagi foto dan video, tetapi kini lebih dipenuhi oleh postingan para selebgram yang mempromosikan akun online shop dan bisa digunakan untuk berbelanja online. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh selebgram sebagai celebrity endorsement terdahap perilaku konsumtif mahasiswi Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Pada penelitian ini berfokus pada pengaruh yang diberikan selebgram sebagai celebrity endorsement terhadap perilaku konsumtif mahasiswi Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Dengan jumlah sampel 100 responden, menggunakan teknik simple random sample. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa selebgram sebagai celebrity endorsement terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dan positif terhadap perilaku konsumtif mahasiswi. Endorsement yang dilakukan selebgram membuat mahasiswi lebih mudah mengetahui akun online shop, dan membeli secara online tanpa harus bepergian keluar rumah.

Abstract

The use of YouTube in teaching the English language plays a leading role in helping learners understand their English lessons. It can improve the performance of students and upgrade their levels in English courses. In other words, YouTube presented a substantial influence on students’ understanding of English. Also, this paper found that YouTube could be a good material to incorporate English lessons and it can help with understanding the lesson as well. It should be considered by English teachers in the classroom since many of the learners’ responses in this study were positive. In short, the study showed that the YouTube website can be an effective method in dealing with students’ difficulties and barriers in understanding English. It is conceived to be more effective and successful than textbook-based English courses in promoting better learning of English.

Abstract

Sambal Teri Bajak Medan merupakan oleh-oleh khas Medan yang menggunakan bahan baku ikan teri Medan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kualitas produk dan kampanye berbasis kearifan lokal memengaruhi keputusan konsumen untuk membeli cabai Teri Bajak Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui survei. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kearifan lokal dan kualitas produk memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan pada pilihan konsumen saat melakukan pembelian. Ketika datang ke Saus Sambal Teri Bajak Medan, jelas bahwa semakin banyak promosi berbasis kearifan lokal dan kualitas produk, semakin banyak konsumen yang memilih untuk membeli produk tersebut. Penemuan ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi UMKM untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk mereka dan menggunakan kampanye berbasis kearifan lokal untuk membuat konsumen lebih tertarik untuk membeli produk mereka.

Abstract

The availability of clean water is important for health, but not all areas have adequate access. Some communities rely on rainwater, wells, or unsuitable ditches for their daily needs. To overcome this problem, a microcontroller-based water tank control and monitoring system was developed near water sources such as ponds or ditches. This system uses simple filtration with silica sand, zeolite stone, activated carbon, coral shell sand, and coconut fiber to filter dirty water into clean water. The filtration results showed an increase in water quality: the pH of clean water increased from 6.39 to 8.18 and the TDS decreased from 0.63 to 0.03. Pond water increased in pH from 7.22 to 8.19, with TDS decreasing from 0.61 to 0.43. Ditch water showed an increase in pH from 6.97 to 7.77, but a slight increase in TDS from 0.80 to 0.85. Overall, this filtration improves water quality by adjusting pH and reducing TDS.
