Abstract

Introduction: Microplastics have become a pollution problem that has received worldwide attention. Microplastics in the water impact the environment and health, especially in Indonesia, which is the second-largest plastic waste contributor in the world. This literature study aims to determine the distribution of microplastics pollution in waters and its impact on health and the environment in Indonesia.Methods: The literature search on papers from 2010-2021 through Google Scholar, Pubmed, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest, with the keywords of ‘Microplastics’, ‘Indonesia’, ‘aquatic’, ‘environment’   found 477 articles.  Then, after the exclusion of duplicate articles, and other inclusion criteria, the final review was done on 42 articles. PRISMA guidelines were used for reviewing the procedure.Results: Most microplastic research was conducted in Java Island, which is dominated by rivers and beaches. Based on the source, microplastics came from domestic waste, tourism, and fishing activities. The most common forms found were black and blue fibers from fishing lines, nets, and clothing fibers of various sizes. The type of polymer identified is polyethylene plastic. Microplastics impacted tourist destinations, marine ecosystems through the food chain, and also humans who consume seafood.Conclusion: Microplastics are found in the Indonesian marine environment. Humans can consume seafood contaminated with microplastics, which will have an impact on health. Therefore, a health risk assessment should be done to provide information for taking environmental management efforts.

Abstract

Pengembangan pemukiman penduduk telah merampas sebagian besar lahan yang biasa dikelola untuk pertanian dan peternakan tidak terkecuali Desa Oeteta, Kabupaten Kupang-Nusa Tenggara Timur. Hal ini mengakibatkan perlu adanya keahlian baru bagi pemuda usia kerja agar terciptanya lapangan kerja baru dibidang jasa. Tujuan dilakukan kajian ini adalah untuk membekali pemuda usia kerja dengan keahlian las untuk menghindari kesenjangan sosial yang rentan terjadi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan terkait skill dasar pengelasan dan pengenalan peralatan serta praktek pengelasan. Sejalan dengan itu, peserta juga dibekali dengan pemahaman tentang kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja sebagai pedoman dalam bekerja. Dari pelatihan yang berlangsung diperoleh beberapa informasi bahwa masyarakat yang merupakan pemuda usia kerja cukup antusias untuk dibekali dengan skill pengelasan serta berkomitmen untuk berinovasi dan dikembangkan.

Abstract

This article discusses the development of Bernard's banana chips small and medium-sized enterprise (UMKM) in Buraen Village through the utilization of a website, online store, and social media. This is based on the situation and role of UMKM as the backbone of the national economy. While UMKM has made significant contributions, many still struggle to compete globally in modern marketing. This integrated business development is aimed at one of the UMKM actors, specifically Bernard's UMKM in Amarasi Village, to optimize the production of chips and various pastries. The methods used include product development, trials, socialization, and training. The results of the community engagement show that the UMKM Bernard community is very enthusiastic, and even the village government participated in this training activity. The engagement team successfully developed a website integrated with an online store and social media to expand the marketing network of UMKM Bernard's products. The community's response to the website product was 83.8%, to the online store product was 91.9%, and to the social media promoting UMKM Bernard's products was 93.3%. The training results indicate that the managers of UMKM Bernard are capable of customizing and managing the website, online store, and social media. It is hoped that continuous training, monitoring, and mentoring will be conducted until the UMKM community becomes independent and capable of managing such technology themselves

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis emisi gas buang dan konsumsi bahan bakar dari perbandingan kompresi standar dan kompresi yang telah ditingkatkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen yang mengacu pada standar percobaan tentang perbandingan kompresi standar dan kompresi yang telah ditingkatkan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh pada kompresi standar dengan putaran 2000 RPM, yaitu CO 3,04% Vol dan nilai HC 667 bpj, dan pada putaran 3000 RPM memperoleh kadar emisi CO 4,26% Vol dan nilai HC 755 bpj. Sedangkan pada putaran 5000 RPM mendapatkan hasil kadar emisi CO 4,99% Vol dan nilai HC 977 bpj. Hasil yang diperoleh dari Kompresi yang telah ditingkatkan pada putaran 2000 RPM, yaitu nilai kadar emisi CO 3,28% Vol dan nilai HC 638 bpj. Untuk putaran 3000 RPM menghasilkan kadar emisi CO 3,11% Vol dan nilai HC 429 bpj, sedangkan pada putaran 5000 RPM memperoleh hasil kadar emisi CO 3,5% Vol dan nilai HC 327 bpj. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil kadar emisi CO dan HC dari kompresi yang telah ditingkatkan masih dibawah nilai ambang batas yang ditentukan jika dibandingkan dengan kompresi standar yang sudah melebihi nilai ambang batas.

Abstract

One of the energy sources used as a substitute for diesel is biodiesel, which is an energy source made from plants and animals. One of the plant species that can be developed for biodiesel in Indonesia is the Nyamplung tree (Calophyllum inophyllum). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using biodiesel fuel based on nyamplung fruit seed oil (Calophyllum Inophyllum) on exhaust gas emissions of CO, CO2, NOx, O2, and diesel engine opacity. The study used a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) basic pattern which was repeated 3 times, including: X1 : Pure Diesel (100%), X2 : Mixture of Diesel and 50% Biodiesel (B50), X3 : 100% Biodiesel (B100), Y : Exhaust Emissions (CO, CO2, NOx, O2 and Opacity). From the analysis of variance, it was found that the use of nyamplung seed biodiesel fuel on exhaust gas emissions of CO, CO2, NOx, O2, and Opacity had a significant effect on the 1% and 5% levels in the treatment and had no significant effect on the test group. Then it can be said that the use of biodiesel can reduce exhaust emissions.

Abstract

Kebutuhan bahan bakar minyak fosil terus mengalami peningkatan seiring pertumbuhan jumlah kendaraan bermotor. Oleh karena itu perlu diupayakan pencarian sumber bahan bakar alternatif terutama yang berasal dari biomassa karena sifatnya dapat diperbarui dan lebih ramah terhadap lingkungan. Bioetanol yang berasal dari tanaman lontar (Borassus flabellifer) merupakan salah satu solusi untuk menjawab kebutuhan bahan bakar alternatif tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat bioetanol dari nira lontar sesuai grade untuk bahan bakar, mendapatkan data hasil pengukuran torsi dan daya sepeda motor 4 langkah menggunakan bahan bakar campuran premium-bioetanol dalam berbagai perbandingan konsentrasi dan mendapatkan perbandingan konsentrasi optimal yang menghasilkan torsi dan daya mesin maksimal. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Pendidikan Kimia dan Laboratorium Pendidikan Teknik Mesin FKIP Undana. Instrumen penelitian berupa pedoman pembuatan bioetanol, pedoman pengujian kinerja mesin, dan lembar hasil pengujian. Pengumpulan data menggunakan eksperimen atau pengujian di laboratorium guna diperoleh angka putaran mesin, torsi dan daya mesin. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa torsi dan daya mesin meningkat seiring peningkatan angka putaran mesin serta perbandingan konsentrasi 30% menghasilkan torsi dan daya maksimal.
