Abstract

In the turning process, the surface roughness is affected by cutting parameters  such as cutting speed, depth of cut, feed rate, and so on. However, there is not much information about the relationship or interaction between cutting parameters and the resulting surface roughness. This study aimed to examine the effect of cutting parameters on the surface roughness value of low carbon steel. This research was conducted experimentally using a conventional lathe with a HSS insert without the use of cutting fluids. It was concluded that the cutting parameters had a significant effect on the surface roughness. The lowest surface roughness value was obtained at 280 rpm spindle speed, 0.5 mm depth of cut and 0.2 mm/rev. feed rate with a roughness value of 2.968 µm. The contribution of each parameter to the surface roughness were 42.2% of spindle speed, 10% of depth of cut and 20.3% of feed rate respectively.

Abstract

This article discusses the development of Bernard's banana chips small and medium-sized enterprise (UMKM) in Buraen Village through the utilization of a website, online store, and social media. This is based on the situation and role of UMKM as the backbone of the national economy. While UMKM has made significant contributions, many still struggle to compete globally in modern marketing. This integrated business development is aimed at one of the UMKM actors, specifically Bernard's UMKM in Amarasi Village, to optimize the production of chips and various pastries. The methods used include product development, trials, socialization, and training. The results of the community engagement show that the UMKM Bernard community is very enthusiastic, and even the village government participated in this training activity. The engagement team successfully developed a website integrated with an online store and social media to expand the marketing network of UMKM Bernard's products. The community's response to the website product was 83.8%, to the online store product was 91.9%, and to the social media promoting UMKM Bernard's products was 93.3%. The training results indicate that the managers of UMKM Bernard are capable of customizing and managing the website, online store, and social media. It is hoped that continuous training, monitoring, and mentoring will be conducted until the UMKM community becomes independent and capable of managing such technology themselves

Abstract

Kinerja mesin pengiris ubi kayu dapat diukur berdasarkan indikator efisiensi dan kapasitas pengirisan. Kedua indikator ini dipengaruhi oleh sejumlah faktor diantaranya kecepatan pengirisan dan tebal irisan. Namun demikian, informasi tentang penentuan kecepatan pengirisan dan tebal irisan optimum belum banyak tersedia, hal ini menjadi kendala bagi pelaku usaha khususnya industri rumah tangga keripik singkong. Untuk alasan ini, sebuah mesin pengiris ubi kayu didesain, dibuat, dan dievaluasi kinerjanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang, membuat, dan menguji kinerja mesin pengiris ubi kayu sehingga dihasilkan mesin dengan tingkat efisiensi dan kapasitas optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan design of experiment rancangan faktorial untuk mengetahui kinerja efisiensi dan kapasitas pengirisan optimal. Faktor yang dikaji adalah kecepatan pengirisan dan tebal irisan. Kecepatan pengirisan dibagi kedalam empat level yaitu 308, 392, 485 dan 595 rpm, sedangkan tebal irisan terdiri dari  1,5 dan 2,0 mm. Jumlah eksperimen sebanyak 8 kali sesuai kombinasi faktor dan level.  Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara mengukur secara langsung tingkat efisiensi dan kapasitas pada setiap kombinasi. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa kapasitas berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan kecepatan pengirisan, namun demikian tidak terjadi pada efisiensi. Efisiensi tertinggi sebesar 88.5% diperoleh pada kecepatan pengirisan 485 rpm dan tebal irisan 2,0 mm, dengan kapasitas pengirisan sebesar 33,63 gram/detik. Mesin ini mudah digunakan dan perawatan untuk industri skala rumah tangga. These two indicators are influenced by a number of factors including slicing speed and slicing thickness. However, information about determining the optimum slicing speed and slicing thickness is not yet widely available, this is an obstacle for business actors, especially the cassava chips home industry. For this reason, a cassava slicing machine was designed, built, and evaluated for its performance. This research aims to design, manufacture and test the performance of a cassava slicing machine so that a machine with optimal levels of efficiency and capacity is produced. This research used a factorial design of experiment to determine efficiency performance and optimal slicing capacity. The factors studied are slicing speed and slicing thickness. The slicing speed was divided into four levels, namely 308, 392, 485 and 595 rpm, while the slicing thickness consists of 1.5 and 2.0 mm. The number of experiments was 8 times according to the combination of factors and levels. Data collection was carried out by directly measuring the level of efficiency and capacity in each combination. The research results concluded that capacity was directly proportional to the increase in slicing speed, however this did not occur with efficiency. The highest efficiency of 88.5% was obtained at a slicing speed of 485 rpm and a slicing thickness of 2.0 mm, with a slicing capacity of 33.63 grams/second. Abstract

The change in learning models from conventional to online due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way of thinking, methods used, paradigms and learning approaches that prioritize independent learning online with internet facilities. Through the internet all information is available, but it still has to be shared and sorted according to the needs and information to be taught to students. For this reason, competent teachers are needed, not only pedagogically, socially and professionally, but also required to master learning technology. This training is conducted to train teachers in planning, designing, developing and operating webside-based e-learning in the learning process that will be carried out with their students. The training method is designed with an online training and face-to-face approach. The approach uses hands-on exercises, tutorials and follow-up consultations. The results of the training showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of teachers about learning media. Before the training, the average understanding of teachers about learning media got a value of 52, while after being given training it became 84. Then seen from the skills of making media, before training teachers could not create website-based media, but after being given training teachers could create and develop media webside based learning.

Abstract

Kebutuhan bahan bakar minyak fosil terus mengalami peningkatan seiring pertumbuhan jumlah kendaraan bermotor. Oleh karena itu perlu diupayakan pencarian sumber bahan bakar alternatif terutama yang berasal dari biomassa karena sifatnya dapat diperbarui dan lebih ramah terhadap lingkungan. Bioetanol yang berasal dari tanaman lontar (Borassus flabellifer) merupakan salah satu solusi untuk menjawab kebutuhan bahan bakar alternatif tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat bioetanol dari nira lontar sesuai grade untuk bahan bakar, mendapatkan data hasil pengukuran torsi dan daya sepeda motor 4 langkah menggunakan bahan bakar campuran premium-bioetanol dalam berbagai perbandingan konsentrasi dan mendapatkan perbandingan konsentrasi optimal yang menghasilkan torsi dan daya mesin maksimal. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Pendidikan Kimia dan Laboratorium Pendidikan Teknik Mesin FKIP Undana. Instrumen penelitian berupa pedoman pembuatan bioetanol, pedoman pengujian kinerja mesin, dan lembar hasil pengujian. Pengumpulan data menggunakan eksperimen atau pengujian di laboratorium guna diperoleh angka putaran mesin, torsi dan daya mesin. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa torsi dan daya mesin meningkat seiring peningkatan angka putaran mesin serta perbandingan konsentrasi 30% menghasilkan torsi dan daya maksimal.
