Abstract

Talking about motivation related to two things as; First Internal Motivation; refer to the students’ motivation come from their self; Second External motivation refer to how the motivation got from external such as environment at home, out of home and school. In process of learning English motivation is the role play important to make students interested in the materials that given of the teacher. Motivation really important in learning especially English learning because the high motivation make the result of student learning is too high. The methods that we used are Qualitative research that technic that the writer used is Library research. The data that we took of source such journals that discussion of teacher motivation.

Abstract

Reading is a skill of English learning. First, it makes students have a great knowledge. Second, to help students improve their writing. Third, it can increase English vocabulary. Scanning and skimming are strategy suitable used to assists students in English reading text. The objective of this study is to know the effectiveness of scanning skimming strategy. The method that researcher used is qualitative method which researcher take the data from some journal, after that we put in the table the author, journal’s name, result, the next we analysis and get the conclusion. The results are all of journals that the researcher collected support the scanning and skimming as strategy English teacher to motivate students and to make students understand in reading text.

Abstract

English is one of the many languages that must be learned by all levels of school, from elementary to high school. English lessons have been taught in schools for a long time, and the development is so fast that schools are competing to apply it and provide training, webinars, etc. offline and online to improve the ability of English teachers but there are many factors that determine the success of English teachers in the teaching and learning process, one of which is the learning medium, namely English textbooks. In this study, the author uses qualitative research, and the method used is a descriptive method in which the author takes the following steps: First, the author collects five (5) journals related to the analysis of English textbooks; Second, after being collected, the author looks for the results of research and theories that underlie or become a benchmark in analyzing English textbooks by each journal author; Finally, the author gives conclusions based on the journals collected. The result of this research is that in making textbooks, it is necessary to be based on existing theories with not much material content & the material really makes students understand what they are learning.
