Abstract

Seiring perkembangan dan pembaharuan dalam dunia pendidikan telah terjadi pergeseran paradigma proses pendidikan, yaitu dari pengajaran ke pembelajaran. Proses pembelajaran perlu direncanakan, dilaksanakan, dinilai, dan diawasi agar terlaksana secara efektif dan efisien. Guru harus mampu menciptakan suasana pembelajaran partisipatif, aktif, kreatif, efektif, dan menyenangkan supaya kompetensi dasar dan standar kompetensi yang telah dirancang dapat tercapai. Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan memberikan wawasan kepada para guru dan calon guru tentang metode pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang menarik melalui model PAKEM.

Abstract

One of the challenges of learning in the digital era is being skilled in designing digital technology-based learning media. Canva is an online-based application that provides attractive designs in the form of templates, features, and categories given in it to support creativity for its users. This article describes the function of the Canva application as a learning medium that can be used for educators and students. The purpose of the assessment of Canva's audio-visual learning media is to find out more about the features in the Canva application that can be used to create learning media, with the hope of increasing teacher innovation in designing interesting, effective and interactive learning media so that the planned learning targets are achieved. The research method is by using qualitative research methods, where this method is descriptive development and tends to use analysis. Keywords :digital literacy, learning method, Canva application

Abstract

English learning in Indonesia is a compulsory from elementary grade school, and this is not easy for the teacher and the learner because the mother tongue of Indonesia is Bahasa and we do not have the concept of second language. The problems that happening often are the lack of interest and the motivation of the learners when they learn English, mostly happens because the method used by the teacher is deemed as boring and unsuitable for them. This study uses qualitative method to understand the function, benefit, and the usage of Communicative Language Teaching and to solve the problems on learning English in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberi pendampingan dan edukasi kepada calon pendidik tentang perkembangan intelektual dan gaya kognitif pembelajaran. Era Industri 5.0 ditandai dengan integrasi teknologi canggih dan inovasi manusia, yang mengubah cara individu belajar dan berinteraksi dengan informasi. Perkembangan intelektual, yang mencakup peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dan kritis, menjadi sangat penting dalam menghadapi tantangan dan peluang baru. Dalam konteks ini, gaya kognitif pembelajaran menjadi faktor kunci untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang efektif. Kajian ini mengeksplorasi hubungan antara perkembangan intelektual dan gaya kognitif di era Industri 5.0, serta dampaknya terhadap pendidikan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknologi, seperti kecerdasan buatan dan analisis data, dapat meningkatkan akses informasi dan memungkinkan pembelajaran adaptif yang sesuai dengan gaya kognitif individu. Dengan memahami kedua aspek ini, kita dapat merancang strategi pendidikan yang lebih inklusif dan responsif, mempersiapkan generasi mendatang untuk sukses dalam lingkungan yang semakin kompleks dan terintegrasi. Kata kunci: Edukasi, Perkembangan Intelektual, Gaya Kognitif Pembelajaran

Abstract

Di era milenial sekarang ini, banyak harapan dan tuntutan kepada guru. Hal ini dapat dimaklumi karena guru memiliki peran tidak hanya sebagai penyampai ilmu melainkan juga berperan sebagai motor penggerak dan fasilitator (learning facilitator) dalam kegiatan belajar-mengajar. Guru sebagai pengembang dan penerus peradaban harus menanamkan nilai (value) dan membangun karakter (character building) peserta didik secara berkelanjutan dan berkesinambungan. Sebagai motor penggerak jalannya pembelajaran di sekolah dengan tetap berpedoman dengan UU dan sistem pendidikan yang berlaku. Guru harus memiliki kemampuan literasi mengenai penggunaan IT yang memadai sekaligus memiliki kemampuan mengendalikan penggunaannya secara bijak dan kolegial kepada peserta didik. Dalam kaitan dengan hal tersebut, guru diharapkan memiliki ilmu pengetahuan yang banyak dan luas sebagai upaya untuk memudahkan penyampaian dalam proses belajar mengajar di dalam kelas maupun di luar kelas. Di samping itu, guru diharapkan bukan hanya memiliki ilmu pengetahuan yang banyak akan tetapi mengetahui pula kebutuhan, masalah dan kemampuan yang dimiliki peserta didik. Abstract

One of the main problems in English learning for beginner learners is vocabulary acquisition. The ability to communicate and understand a language is often hampered by a limited vocabulary. Visual dictionaries, which display the meaning of learnt words through pictures, are a method that can accelerate vocabulary comprehension. This method is considered more efficient because the human brain more easily remembers information that is accompanied by images or visuals rather than just text. The purpose of this study is to find out how effective the use of visual dictionaries is in learning vocabulary for beginner learners. By analysing the results and pedagogical methods used, the researcher examined how visual dictionary representation can increase students' interest and success in vocabulary acquisition as well as improve word recognition, comprehension and retention. This study utilised the classroom action research method. The research findings showed pre-test data that 77% of students were able to understand the vocabulary and 67% of students were able to pronounce the vocabulary correctly. Overall, the students' vocabulary mastery ability during the pre-test was 72%. Post-test data showed that 80% of students were able to understand the vocabulary and 83% of students were able to pronounce the vocabulary correctly. Overall, the students' vocabulary mastery ability during the post-test was 81.5%. Based on the above facts, the researcher concluded that visual dictionaries can improve the vocabulary acquisition of beginner learners.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini memiliki tujuan adalah diperoleh ilmu pengetahuan tentang TOEFL oleh Guru SMP Pattimura Jakarta Selatan. Pelatihan TOEFL memiliki langkah- langkah kegiatan adalah sebagai berikut; 1) PERENCANAAN, Perencanaan yang matang dalam setiap tahapan yang akan dipersiapkan dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat membantu kegiatan berjalan dengan lancar ; 2) PELAKSANAAN, Sesudah direncanakan dengan matang langkah selanjutnya tim abdimas melaksanakan pelatihan yang mana didalamnya mencakup kegiatan- kegiatan yakni Pertama, Tim abdimas memberikan materi skill TOEFL karena terbatasnya waktu maka diberikan hanya materi Structure dan tidak semua materi skill TOEFL; Kedua, Dalam Pemberian latihan soal pemateri menjelaskan materi yang diberikan, berikutnya menjawab latihan soal Structure; 3) Pendampingan, Tim Abdimas melakukan pendampingan kepada guru ketika menjawab soal- soal latihan TOEFL yakni structure serta pendampingan akan senantiasa terus menerus diberikan guna membantu apabila ada kendala yang ditemukan dalam Latihan soal TOEFL serta memberikan Solusi atas kendala Kata Kunci: Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat, Guru, Kompetensi, TOEFL

Abstract

English is one of the many languages that must be learned by all levels of school, from elementary to high school. English lessons have been taught in schools for a long time, and the development is so fast that schools are competing to apply it and provide training, webinars, etc. offline and online to improve the ability of English teachers but there are many factors that determine the success of English teachers in the teaching and learning process, one of which is the learning medium, namely English textbooks. In this study, the author uses qualitative research, and the method used is a descriptive method in which the author takes the following steps: First, the author collects five (5) journals related to the analysis of English textbooks; Second, after being collected, the author looks for the results of research and theories that underlie or become a benchmark in analyzing English textbooks by each journal author; Finally, the author gives conclusions based on the journals collected. The result of this research is that in making textbooks, it is necessary to be based on existing theories with not much material content & the material really makes students understand what they are learning.

Abstract

21st century education emphasizes the development of six core skills (6Cs): critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, culture, and connectivity. In biology education, deep understanding and analytical thinking is crucial, yet challenges such as time constraints, a dense curriculum, and insufficient support hinder the integration of critical thinking. This study aims to analyze the presence of critical thinking indicators in grade XI Biology teaching module on cell material across high schools in the Surakarta Residency. A descriptive qualitative method was used in this study. Data were collected from five teaching modules each provided by selected biology teachers from public, private and Muhammadiyah high schools, using documentation and interviews. Result show that the most frequency appearing critical thinking indicator was "providing simple explanations" (64.28%) at Muhammadiyah schools, while the least frequent was "strategies and tactics" (3.57%). These findings offer valuable insights for biology teachers in improving their instructional design to better foster critical thinking.
