Abstract

Research Aims: The halal industry has become one of the fastest growing business in the global market. Halal certification provides assurance to all Muslim consumers because it fulfills the Shariah law and follows the concept of halalan-toyyiban. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of severity of halal violation and CSR on boycott towards the company that involved in halal violation incidents. Design/methodology/approach: In total of 400 questionnaires were distributed amongst customers who were aware and/or had experienced the violation of a halal product. Data were analyzed using structural equation modelling techniques, were partial least squares (PLS) software was used to measure the direct and indirect relationships between the variables. Research Findings: The result of this investigation showed that perceived severity of halal violation is significantly related to consumer boycott. Further results imply that perceived CSR not only contributes negatively to consumer boycott, but also significantly moderates the relationship perceived severity and consumer boycott. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study is among the earliest to include CSR from a consumer perspective, particularly in the halal retraction context. Managerial Implication in the South East Asian context: The present study suggests that Halal companies in South East Asian should be proactive in CSR initiatives in order to reduce the negative effect towards company evaluation such as boycott in case if halal violation incidents occur. Research limitation & implications: This study bears several limitations. First, this study employed purposive sampling method and the scope of the study is only limited to the customers who are aware and/or had experienced food halal violation incidents in Klang Valley, Malaysia. Hence, the results may not be able to generalise to other product categories and population.

Abstract

Hospital information systems (HIS) have brought significant changes in the way hospitals communicate with patients and add great value to the medical services provided by modern. Despite HIS long implementation in the public hospitals in the UAE, little is known about the quality aspects of HIS on patients. Accordingly, this study addresses this gap and assesses the effect of system quality, service quality, and information quality of HIS on patients’ satisfaction. This study adopted a quantitative approach. The sample consists of 500 patients at public hospitals in Al-Sharjah city. Respondents were selected using a systematic sampling technique. Data were collected using the questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling. The results reveal that the quality attributes of HIS i.e. system quality, service quality, and information quality, have a significant effect on patients’ satisfaction. Notably, these attributes are important measures of the success of every information system. Hence, HIS should be carefully designed to ensure these measures are well delivered for the users of these systems as well as hospital staff.

Abstract

This systematic research study examined the connection between customer experience dimensions and e- government success in Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates (UAE). The organized study utilized a descriptive and cross-sectional survey research design with a positivism philosophy. A sample of 382 participants out of 108,825 target population was chosen employing a table developed by Morgan & Krejcie (1970). Facts were gathered utilizing a questionnaire, simple random sampling and examined applying Descriptive Statistics and Structural Equation Modeling using the Smart Partial Least Squares (SPLS) Version 3.3.3 software to test the hypotheses. The inquiry study findings came up with a significant correlation between customer experience dimensions (comfort, security and usability) and e- government success at significant level of 0.05. It was thus concluded that the customer experience dimensions significantly affect e- government success. The logical investigation study recommended that the UAE government should augment the budget for e-government successful implementation programs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to review the supply chain process of lean healthcare practices (LHP). LHP consists of leadership, employee engagement, customer engagement, continuous improvement, just in time, lean production, and workflow processes had been identified. For this research purpose, questionnaires will be distributed in selected hospitals by the researcher. For implications, this finding would provide good material as guideline and references to manufacturing industry especially to Malaysian healthcare firm, Malaysian government hospital, lean healthcare consultants, and local and international academics. Thus, LHP tools are important to improve healthcare performance in the Malaysian healthcare industry. The paper contributes to supply chain management literature by identifying LHP in the Malaysian healthcare industry.
