Abstract

As a newly established higher education institution in Bukittinggi, Universitas Mohammad Natsir Bukittinggi (UMN Bukittinggi) is chosen as the study location since it required highly qualified and competent teaching staff to support its academic excellence. The competence of lecturers is a fundamental requirement that must be established by universities to enhance the quality of both the institution and its graduates. To determine the required competencies, the university has set specific criteria, including teaching quality, educational background, work ethic, and the quality of teaching materials. This research aims to build a desktop application with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in assessing lecture competency. Microsoft tools like Visual Studio and Visual Basic programming are used in the development of the application. The application maps the evaluation criteria of lecturer performance into a hierarchy, where each hierarchy will be a pairwise comparison between criteria so that a comparison of the relative importance between the criteria obtained. With the modeling utilizing Unified Modeling Language, this research also designs user interface modeling in the proposed application. Keywords: Lecturer Competence, Decision Support System, Analytical Hierarchy Process, Technological Competency

Abstract

The development of MSMEs is something that has a very large influence on the economy in Indonesia. The local MSME market is even able to compete globally as shown by the large number of incoming requests from abroad. Even so, MSMEs in Indonesia have experienced fluctuations due to the economic crisis. The fluctuations that occurred showed a decrease in the number of MSMEs by 0.003%. The Executive Director of the Institute For Economics (Indef) said that the fluctuations that occurred in MSMEs resulted in unstable economic development in the second quarter. From this problem, the CRISP-DM Clustering process was carried out to process existing MSME data to determine the right promotion strategy in developing MSMEs based on the type of business undertaken, turnover and assets owned. This research was conducted using the K-Medoids algorithm by forming 3 clusters for data processing. The data processed were 71 MSME data throughout Solo Raya, where in cluster 1 there were 25 MSMEs which were dominated by types of businesses in the fashion sector with an average turnover and assets between IDR 1,000,000 - IDR 5,000,000. Cluster 2 consists of 39 MSMEs which are dominated by types of businesses in the culinary field with average turnover and assets between IDR 1,000,000 - IDR 5,000,000 and in cluster 3 as many as 7 MSMEs which are dominated by types of businesses in other fields ( excluding 6 other types of business) with an average asset of ≥ Rp. 30,000,000 and a turnover between Rp. 21,000,000 - Rp. 25,000,000.

Abstract

West Sumatra Province, with a high disaster risk level, requires a more efficient reporting system to support disaster management. Currently, the West Sumatra Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) relies on WhatsApp and Microsoft Excel, which are considered ineffective. The goal of this activity is to implement the mobile application E-Disaster on the Android platform to enhance disaster reporting efficiency at the BPBD of West Sumatra Province. The activity method consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and reporting. In the preparation stage, needs analysis is conducted through visits to the BPBD of West Sumatra Province to gather necessary information for application development. Implementation involves developing the application based on the gathered requirements and conducting demonstrations and handing over the application to the BPBD of West Sumatra Province. The reporting stage involves presenting the activity results and evaluating the application usage. The outcomes show that the E-Disaster application has been successfully implemented and well-received by the BPBD of West Sumatra Province. This application facilitates BPBD officers in promptly responding to disaster reports and enhances coordination and response in the field. The conclusion drawn from this activity is that the E-Disaster application can improve the response and efficiency of the BPBD of West Sumatra Province in monitoring and responding to disasters in the region. Thus, it is expected that this application will significantly contribute to disaster management in West Sumatra Province and serve as a model for developing similar systems in other high-risk disaster areas.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology today paves the way for the birth of various scientific inventions. Technology can assist decision-makers in determining a decision to be reached. One technology that can be utilized is a decision support system. Decision support systems can help reduce uncertainty and make the decision-making process more efficient. The Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique method is one of them, a method that can be applied to decision support systems. This study aims to be a literature review that can help researchers apply the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique method in further research. This study presents 10 articles from national and international accredited journals that use the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique method in their research. The Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique method can be used in various case studies, evaluation of student final assignment guidance, identification of employee performance, for selecting the best employees, determining sanctions, and selecting the best cafes in an area.

Abstract

Pengelolaan surat keluar di Bagian Tata Usaha Fakultas Teknologi masih dilakukan secara konvensional sehingga tidak berjalan dengan optimal. Pengelolaan surat keluar ini terdiri atas proses pengajuan, pengonsepan, pembuatan, penandatanganan, pencatatan dan penyimpanan surat. Untuk mengatasi permasalahn tersebut, diperlukan sebuah sistem informasi yang mampu mengelola surat secara cepat dan juga menandatangani suart secara elektronik. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkomputerisasikan proses dalam pengelolaan surat keluar yang ada. Tahapan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis, perancangan, pembangunan, serta pengujian sebuah sistem informasi pengelolaan surat keluar dengan pemanfaatan tanda tangan digital. Pengembangan aplikasi ini menggunakan metode Waterfall. Aplikasi ini dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dengan framework Laravel dan database MySQL. Pengujian aplikasi dilakukan dengan metode black box testing untuk menguji ketersedian dan kesesuaian fungsional dengan hasil rancangan. Penelitian ini telah menghasilkan sebuah aplikasi web pengelolaan surat keluar yang didukung dengan pemanfaatan tanda tangan digital dalam pengesahan dokumen elektronik surat. Aplikasi ini dibangun agar dapat mengoptimalkan proses pengelolaan surat keluar pada Fakultas Teknologi Informasi Universitas Andalas.
