Abstract

This community service aims to provide more practical, innovative and efficient learning methods that are adapted to the development of information technology in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 by utilizing the free Learning Management System (LMS) media, namely Schoology. The learning process in this LMS combines some content in one application that is packaged in an interactive form such as flash or animation, learning videos, assignments and examinations with various features including course content which includes articles, module materials. Therefore, we from the Andalas University Information Systems Study Program aim to socialize the utilization of information technology in the teaching and learning process with LMS Schoology at SMAN 1 Sutera. As the best school in Pesisir Selatan District, SMAN 1 Sutera has been equipped with facilities to support teaching and learning processes that can utilize information technology. The subjects of this dedication are all the teachers of SMAN 1 Sutera, where the teachers are given training in the use of Schoology in order to be able to apply the learning process based on information technology. The method of carrying out this activity is carried out in five stages: initial survey, planning, preparation, training and evaluation. During the training, the enthusiasm of the teacher was quite high by giving a positive response of 90% of the participants and responding that Schoology was another alternative for an interesting learning process. And the rest are not yet accustomed to using technology in the learning process due to age.

Abstract

Officially the World Health Organization (WHO) has determined that COVID-19 is a pandemic, and the Indonesian government has also declared the Corona outbreak a national disaster. To be able activities during a pandemic, we must carry out Communication, Information, and Education (IEC) to the public regarding COVID-19. IEC can be done by using posters as a communication medium. Socialization of education media is aim at high school students in the city of Padang. The purpose of this activity is to provide training to high school students in the city of Padang so that the knowledge provided can be used by making educational posters and share information related to COVID-19 to the public through social media as of concern for students to reduce the spread Coronavirus. This activity involved students from four schools in Padang, namely SMAN 7, SMAN 11, SMA Pertiwi 2, and SMA Don Bosco Padang. The method of implementing activities consists of three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. During the activity, participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the activity until the final stage. This activity's target achievement was 90% seen from the participants who collected educational posters during the training. Meanwhile, the participants' visual literacy ability was 85%, assessed from participants' understanding in conveying visual messages into educational posters. To motivate participants to stay enthusiastic study during pandemics, the best posters were selected from the activity participants.

Abstract

Seiring dengan berkembangnya teknologi, maka peran dari teknologi informasi semakin berguna untuk berkembang di berbagai bidang termasuk pada bidang pertanian. Salah satunya yaitu sistem yang digunakan untuk membantu pengembangan padi Salibu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat desain aplikasi Sistem Pakar budidaya padi Salibu berbasis web. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan untuk membuat Sistem Pakar padi Salibu yaitu menggunakan metode Forward Chaining. Pada metode Forward Chaining, proses pencarian data dimulai dari premis menuju kesimpulan akhir. Metode ini juga disebut data driven yaitu pencarian dikendalikan oleh data yang diberikan. Hasil akhir yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah Apikasi Sistem Pakar identifikasi lahan padi Salibu dengan metode Forward Chaining, dimana user atau pengguna memasukkan data berupa kondisi lahan yang terlihat sesuai yang terdapat pada pilihan, lalu hasil yang diperoleh berupa kesimpulan kondisi lahan, serta teknik atau tata cara pelaksanaan teknologi Salibu.

Abstract

Science Techno Park (STP) Unand's partnership with various government, business, and legal institutions will continue for the foreseeable future in order to disseminate innovators' knowledge to the larger community. The issue that frequently arises is that the file search procedure is tough to locate. Furthermore, the enormous number of inventors at Andalas University are recorded in Microsoft Excel files, making it difficult for users to locate inventory data. The data that is then entered is frequently duplicated, leaving the user perplexed about the information presented. As a result, at STP Unand's Technology Business Development Center, a web-based cooperative information system was created. The goal is for STP Unand's engagement with partners to be automated, and for data collecting on the number of inventors in Unand to be structured. The SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) method is used in this study. SDLC is a software development cycle that encompasses software development techniques, phases, and tools. The waterfall paradigm was used in the design of this application. the waterfall method was successfully used to build or design a collaborative information system application. Based on the outcomes of each stage of the waterfall method, namely analysis, design, coding, and system testing, it is possible to conclude that the design of this collaborative information system application has been successfully built in accordance with needs.

Abstract

AbstrakPemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi di pemerintahan atau yang lebih popular dikenal dengan sebutan e-government, telah memungkinkan pemerintah untuk memberikan akses informasi dan layanan publik dengan lebih efektif dan efisien. Untuk dapat merencanakan dan melaksanakan e-government yang sistematis melalui tahapan dan sasaran yang terukur, maka dikeluarkanlah Instruksi Presiden No 3 Tahun 2003 sebagai salah satu kebijakan strategis pengembangan e-government di Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat perkembangan terkini e-government dengan melakukan penilaian pada website resmi pemerintah daerah di 19 kota/kabupaten yang ada di provinsi Sumatera Barat. Website resmi pemerintah daerah digunakan sebagai media informasi untuk publik dan diasumsikan sebagai representasi perkembangan e-government pemerintahan daerah. Hasil dari penilaian tersebut kemudian dipetakan ke dalam empat tingkatan e-government berdasarkan Instruksi Presiden No 3 Tahun 2003, yaitu Persiapan, Pematangan, Pemantapan, dan Pemanfaatan. Setelah melakukan penilaian, didapatkan hasil bahwa 18 website kota/kabupaten di provinsi Sumatera Barat telah masuk ke dalam Tingkat Pemantapan, dan satu website kota/kabupaten masuk ke dalam Tingkat Pemanfaatan. Namun, yang menjadi perhatian adalah, perlunya peningkatan layanan yang lebih baik untuk semua website dengan menambahkan layanan publik elektronik. Karena, pada saat ini, walaupun seluruh kota/kabupaten berada di Tingkat 3, namun layanan publik yang diberikan hanya layanan pengaduan saja. Dari hasil penilaian ini juga diketahui bahwa masih terdapat layanan website yang tidak dapat diakses karena berbagai faktor, seperti tidak adanya ketersediaan informasi yang dituju, website yang masih dalam pengembangan, terjadi error pada server, dan lain sebagainya. Kata kunci: e-government, Sumatera Barat, penilaian, website

Abstract

Senior High School 1 Batusangkar is a public school that has utilized technology in the implementation of school activities, starting from the presence of a website as an information room, using computers and the internet at school. In addition, this school is also equipped with four computer laboratories which are used for teaching rooms for students. However, in daily activities, the data generated by the school has not been integrated into an information system properly. This has become a momentum for the Department of Information Systems, UNAND in assisting schools in implementing, socializing and educating the school information system JIBAS (Inter-School Information Network) at Senior High School 1 Batusangkar as a tangible form of carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service. JIBAS is a school management information system that helps school operations ranging from academics, finance, libraries, reporting and teacher-student interactions. It is hoped that this system can help schools organize, manage and tidy up their data. Thus, this data becomes information that flows and is useful for various interested parties. The implementation method for this activity consists of three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. After this community service activity was carried out, the school felt that this system was very good to be developed and used further for school activities as a whole. However, with the various other features that exist in JIBAS besides the Academic features, the school needs to study other features so that the effectiveness and efficiency presented by this system can be felt by the school..

Abstract

The Technopreneur is a core course offered in semester IV (four) in the Information Systems department, Faculty of Information Technology, Unand. Based on observations, the learning process using the lecture method via video conference makes students more inclined to be subordinated. At the same time, the lecturer position tends to appear as a one-man show. The problems make students more-passive and weak in the creative power. To attract students' interest in learning, it is necessary to develop interactive learning media. This research aims to produce a WEB-based interactive learning media with a combination of R&D and MDLC model. Learning media is designed based result course learning process on the previous semester and user needs. Based on the results of system functionality testing, it shows 100% of the features are functioning properly. While testing user satisfaction on multimedia elements from 20 respondents with the Mean Opinion Score (MOS) scheme was obtained at 4.11, which means the learning media is quite good. For interactive elements, it gets a score of 4.31, which means it is included in the category ready to be applied in the Technopreneur class.

Abstract

Balai Pembibitan Ternak Unggul Hijauan Pakan Ternak (BPTU HPT) in Padang Mengatas is the only Livestock Breeding Center in Indonesia that specializes in producing breeding stock of Simental and Limousin beef cattle. While BPTU HPT Padang Mengatas focuses on livestock farming, they also recognize the need for technology and programs to streamline their work and keep up with the evolving times. Currently, various activities such as internship registration, cattle sales, visit requests, guest registration, and community satisfaction indexing are still carried out manually, resulting in significant time consumption for both data entry and report compilation. Specifically, in the internship process, BPTU HPT Padang Mengatas requires the implementation of an internship attendance information system for interns. This system enables evaluation of the interns based on their performance and presence during the internship period. The introduction of this information system is expected to assist the employees of BPTU HPT Padang Mengatas, enabling internship supervisors to expedite the data collection process. Additionally, it is anticipated that this application will facilitate BPTU HPT Padang Mengatas in monitoring and controlling its activities.

Abstract

Student creativity in the field of research can develop a method that has excellent potential to be utilized by the wider community. SMAN 3 Batusangkar students have high creativity and interest in participating in research olympiads, such as designing a video game structure as a therapeutic tool to help children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in problems with hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention. The designed video game is part of their research plan proposed in the Indonesian Student Research Olympiad. However, the lack of understanding of the students in making video games with the concept of visual attention for children with ADHD to be used in research is a problem in itself. Therefore, the community service team in the Information Systems Department, Universitas Andalas, assisted in making video games to increase the understanding of the SMAN 3 Batusangkar team on making video games. This activity aimed to disseminate process knowledge related to making simple video games to support innovations that benefit society. Assistance was carried out intensively at the Basic Laboratory of the Information Systems Department to help the SMAN 3 Batusangkar team complete a series of research plans proposed for the Olympics, especially at stages related to making video games.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a weather forecasting system using an Android-based mobile device combined with a microcontroller platform. The device built consists of a DHT11 sensor, Arduino UNO microcontroller, HC-05 Bluetooth module, and an Android phone that is used by users to view weather information. The Neural Network Backpropagation method is useful as a learning algorithm in obtaining appropriate weights so that the system is able to make weather forecasts correctly. Temperature and humidity data from the Padang City BMKG are used as input data to the Matlab application to be trained to find accurate patterns and weights. This appropriate weight is useful as a weighing factor in the Backpropagation testing process on Arduino Uno. In the process, the system works to measure temperature and humidity with the DHT11 sensor, then Arduino processes the input from the sensor to then send the results to the Android application. The test results with 14 trial data revealed that the system with the Neural Network Backpropagation learning method had a success rate of 78.6% for measuring and forecasting the weather.
