Abstract

AbstrackThe goal of this research to describe the mathematical literacy of student in grade VIII studied based on uncertainty and data content at SMP Negeri 03 Pontianak. The method we used in this research is descriptive in a study case form. The subjects chosen in this research were students of grade VIII A as many as 35 people. The results of the test we did shown that the attainment of student’s mathematical literacy is mostly in Level 1 until Level 4, Level 1 can be attained by 85.71% of students, Level 2 by 100% of students, Level 3 by 80% of students, and Level 4 by 97.14% of students. Meanwhile,few studentcan attain level 5about 8.57%of students. The last,there is no students can attain level 6.Factors considered as the cause of the low level of attainmentin level 5 and Level 6 is student not able to interpret the data available and relate some data to information from other sourcesnor reasoning and communicating ideas.          Keywords: Achievement, Literasi Matematis, Uncertainty and Data

Abstract

This study aims to identify the difficulties faced by grade V students at SDN Karawaci 1 in solving story-shaped problems in mathematics subjects and identify factors that cause students to have difficulty learning mathematics. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. The subjects in this study were 5 grade V students of SDN Karawaci 1. Data collection techniques use observations, tests, interviews, and document studies. The results showed that the types of learning difficulties experienced by students in solving decimal fractional material story questions were 23 times students who had difficulty in understanding the questions, as many as 8 times students who had difficulty in using counting operations, as many as 11 times students who had difficulty solving questions, and as many as 21 times students who had difficulty in drawing conclusions. Factors that cause students to have learning difficulties are consisting of internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include students' attitudes in learning, student learning motivation, intellectual abilities and the health of the student's body. Meanwhile, external factors include the lack of variety of teaching methods used by teachers, the use of media that has not been maximized, school facilities and infrastructure, and a less supportive family environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi metode problem posing terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah sains siswa kelas V di MI An-Nur Kota Cirebon. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara, tes dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah guru kelas V dan siswa kelas V MI An-Nur Kota Cirebon. Data penelitian ini dianalisis dengan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kegiatan problem posing dilaksanakan oleh peneliti dan guru kelas V. Implementasi metode problem posing terdiri dari 5 tahapan, yaitu membahas masalah baru, mencatat dan menggambarkan temuan masalah, mengajukan soal, memilih salah satu soal untuk di prediksi solusinya dan mendiskusikan masalah dengan teman. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah sains siswa kelas V MI An-Nur yang mengikuti kegiatan problem posing dari 30 siswa terdapat 9 siswa yang memperoleh nilai tertinggi sebesar 100. Dari nilai siswa kelas V MI An-Nur Kota Cirebon tersebut menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan metode problem posing memiliki respon yang sangat baik sesuai dengan indikator yang telah ditentukan.Kata Kunci : Metode Problem Posing, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah.
