Abstract

Most religions in Thailand are Buddhists. However, Thailand has four provinces, most of which are Malays or Muslims. This study was motivated by the demographic background and curiosity about Islamic banking services in Thailand. This study examines customer knowledge of products and service facilities in Islamic banking, why customers choose Islamic banks, and why customers use both types of bank (Islamic and conventional banking). This study was a field research using a survey technique to collect data. The population in Thailand is an Islamic bank. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics with frequency distribution. The study results found that many Islamic bank customers still need to learn about Islamic bank products, such as musyarakah products, mudharabah products, ijarah products, and rahn services. Customers choose Islamic banks primarily for religious reasons, while ease of access to more branches is the main reason for using Islamic and conventional banks. Customers expressed satisfaction with the services provided by Islamic banks, particularly the name and image of the bank, the friendliness and skills of its employees, the confidentiality of customer data, and the variety of facilities offered by the bank. Banks need to improve their services and add touchpoints so that Muslim customers can use Islamic banks and leave conventional banks. In addition, banks are advised to continue educating consumers to understand the importance of Islamic banking, according to Sharia.

Abstract

This research is motivated by curiosity about Islamic banking services in Riau Province during the Covid-19 pandemic. But before that, it is also important to examine customer knowledge on products and service facilities in Islamic banking, reasons customers choose Islamic banks, and reasons customers use both types of banks (Islamic banking and conventional banking). This research is a field research with survey technique. The population is Islamic banks customers in Pekanbaru and the samples in this study refer to the calculation of Hair et al with total assets of Islamic banks in 2020 as a consideration in determining proportional allocation. Sources of data in this research are primary and secondary data. While the data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistics with a frequency distribution. The results of the research found that there are still many Islamic bank customers who do not know about specific Islamic bank products such musyarakah products, mudharabah products, ijarah products,and rahn services. The results also found that religious reasons are the main factor for customers in choosing of Islamic banks. The factor of ease of access to more branches is the main reason customers use both types of banks. Finally, the results of the research found that the most Islamic bank customers are satisfied with various aspects of the services provided by Islamic banks, while the five service aspects whith the highest level of customer satisfaction are Islamic bank staff friendliness, Islamic bank name and image, Islamic bank employee skills, confidentially Islamic bank customer data, as well as various kinds of facilities offered by Islamic banks. The results of this research are ini line with studies that have been conducted in Jordan and Kuwait, where the highest level of satisfaction is found in the name and image aspects of Islamic banks even though there are differences in respondent demographics and the condition of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study is motivated by curiosity about Islamic insurance services in Riau Province. Survey technique is used in data collection in this study. The population is Islamic insurance customers in this province and the samples in this study refer to the calculation of Hair et al with total assets of Islamic insurance as a consideration in determining proportional allocation. Sources of data in this study are primary data (data collection techniques using questionnaires) and secondary data (collection of relevant documents). The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistics with a frequency distribution (presented using table). The results of the study found that the most Islamic insurance customers are satisfied with various aspects of the services provided by Islamic insurance, while the five service aspects whith the highest level of customer satisfaction are Islamic insurance staff friendliness, advice given by Islamic insurance employees, Islamic insurance name and image, confidentially Islamic insurance customer data, as well as various kinds of facilities offered by Islamic insurances.

Abstract

This paper proposes to look into the connection between Malaysian economic growth and cash waqf. This research makes use of time series data from the World Bank’s development indicators covering the years 2013 to 2019. To analyse both the long-term as well as short-term relationships between Malaysia’s cash waqf and the country’s economic growth, this research used the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model for cointegration and the Error Correction Model (ECM). Furthermore, the data indicates that while cash waqf has a short-term negative impact on economic growth, it possesses a favourable long-term impact from 2013 to 2019. Cash waqf is gradually becoming a tool for improving social well-being, lowering poverty rates and assisting in economic growth in the long run. Hence, the results portray a strong government supporting the importance of strengthening the waqf distribution policy to improve economic growth by raising awareness among financial institutions about the importance of philanthropy in cash waqf management and distribution. The ARDL model for cointegration and the ECM are used to assess both short- and long-run relationships in this research to add to the body of knowledge with regard to economic growth and cash waqf in Malaysia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Wisma Syariah Graha Az-Zahra Pekanbaru mengalami permasalahan terhadap jumlah tamu yang mengalami penurunan. Hal ini diduga terjadi karena belum optimalnya perusahaan dalam mempromosikan produk-produknya kepada masyarakat/pelanggan/tamu. Adapun yang menjadi perumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pengaruh bauran promosi terhadap peningkatan jumlah tamu pada Wisma Syariah Graha Az-Zahra Pekanbaru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh bauran promosi terhadap peningkatan jumlah tamu. Subjek penelitian ini adalah tamu yang menggunakan jasa penginapan. Sementara objek dalam penelitian ini adalah pengaruh bauran promosi terhadap peningkatan jumlah tamu. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik pengambilan sampel digunakan dengan cara simple random sampling, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket atau kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Untuk menganalisis data digunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Dalam menganalisis data kuantitatif digunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana dimana proses perhitungannya menggunakan SPSS for windows versi 17.0. Hasil penelitian ini diketahui bauran promosi terhadap peningkatan jumlah tamu memiliki hubungan yang kuat, ini diketahui dari nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 78,1%. Sedangkan hasil uji parsial terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara bauran promosi terhadap peningkatan jumlah tamu, ini diketahui dari t hitung sebesar 12,176. Kemudian terdapat besarnya kontribusi antara bauran promosi terhadap peningkatan jumlah tamu, diketahui dengan nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 60,9%. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa bauran promosi terhadap peningkatan jumlah tamu pada Wisma Syariah Graha Az-Zahra Pekanbaru sangat berpengaruh.

Abstract

This research is based on the results of pre-research conducted by the writers after looking at “Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank in Pekanbaru city which is an alternative solution in handling waste in Pekanbaru. Although it was only established in 2012, the “Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank has been able to empower communities around to become more productive and earn income, especially for mothers. Therefore, the writers are interested in examining the influence of roles of the “Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank on employee welfare. The problem formulation of this study is how the “Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank influences employee welfare and whether the role of the “Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank on employee welfare is in accordance with the sharia economic perspective. The research objective was to determine the influence of the role of the “Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank on the welfare of employees and to know the extent of the influence of the role of the “Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank on employee welfare in accordance with the sharia economic perspective. In analyzing quantitative data, simple linear regression analysis is used where the calculation process uses SPSS for windows version 23.0. The sample of this study was 42 people. The results of this study note the role of “Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank on employee welfare has a very close relationship, this is known from the correlation coefficient of 90.1%. While the partial test results have a significant effect between the role of the ”Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank on employee welfare, it is known from the t-count (13.164) is greater than t-table (1.684). It means that partially it can be seen that the variable X (role) affects the variable Y (employee welfare). Employees of the “Dalang Collection” Garbage Bank have had moral welfare, spiritual welfare and social welfare while material welfare has not been fulfilled so that it cannot be said prosperous according to the sharia economic perception.

Abstract

The background of this research emerged from the phenomenon that there is a global economic development at this time, namely the seven sectors of Islamic economy that have increased significantly. One of them is sharia tourism, whereas the sector carries the concept of halal in each of its products. In Pekanbaru City, sharia tourism experiences a very significant development with the vision of Pekanbaru City as Madani city. For this reason, the writers want to examine how the understanding of Pekanbaru City people about sharia tourism. The purpose of this study was to find out how well the enderstanding of Pekanbaru City people about sharia tourism. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with qualitative research. The population in this study was 1,038,118 people. The sample is taken from the entire population of 100 people, with the sampling technique using the Slovin formula. Based on the results of research on the analysis of people’s undersanding in Pekanbaru City about sharia tourism which was processed through respondents' answers, it can be concluded that P = 83.86%, which means that the analysis of the people’s understanding in Pekanbaru City on sharia tourism showed "very strong / know" with a percentage of 81% -100% .

Abstract

Accounting standards is fundamental in the preparation of financial statements that must be referred to each company. Accounting standards that form these statement codified in a book called financial accounting standards (GAAP). The book contains a collection of statement of financial accounting standards (SFAS). This study aims to determine the extent of the financial statement presetations of BMT Al-Ittihad in applying generally accepted accounting principles in particular SFAS No.101. This research is a comparative descriptive research that describes, explains and compares the financial statements of BMT with SFAS 101. The research subject is a sharia cooperative BMT Al-Ittihad Pekanbaru while the object is to report RAT BMT Al-Ittihad Pekanbaru. Data were collected by interview and documentations. The analisis is comparative descriptive analysis, which compares the data that has been collected by the relevant theories to draw a conclusion. Based on the results, itshow that the financial statements of BMT Al-Ittihad has not fully adopted SFAS No.101, because: 1) it does not present a statement of sources and uses of zakah, 2) it does not present a statement of sources and uses of charity fund, 3) it does not present a note to the financial statements, 4) it does not present informations of preparations of financial statements and the accounting polices used, and it does not to disclose information required under SFAS No.101.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh maraknya produk makanan ringan UMKM yang beredar dipasaran masih ada yang tidak mencantumkan label halal pada kemasan produk. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah label halal berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan omset penjualan produk makanan ringan UMKM Kota Dumai. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh label halal terhadap peningkatan omset penjualan produk makanan ringan UMKM Kota Dumai. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan, yang jenis penelitiannya kausalitas. Sumber data yang digunakan data primer dan data sekunder. Populasi yang dijadikan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh penjual makanan ringan UMKM Kota Dumai sebanyak 50 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data adalah observasi, angket, dokumentasi. Dalam menganalisis data kuantitatif digunakan analisis regresi sederhana dimana proses perhitungannya mengunakan SPSS for Windows versi 20.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hubungan antara label halal terhadap peningkatan omset termasuk dalam kategori “sangat kuat” diketahui dari koefisien korelasi adalah sebesar 0,869 atau 86,9% hasil tes parsial ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara pengaruh label halal terhadap peningkatan omset diketahui dari eratnya tingkat signifikansi sebesar 12,145, kemudian terdapat kontribusi dalam label halal terhadap peningkatan omset adalah sebesar 75,4% dan sisanya 24,6% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain tidak termasuk dalam penelitian ini. Secara umum disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh label halal terhadap peningkatan omset penjualan adalah berpengaruh sangat signifikan.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the rapid growth of the global halal industry, which continues to expand, including in Indonesia. The Governor of Riau has designated Riau as one of the national halal destinations due to its strategic location near Malay countries. The development of the halal industry in Riau is supported by government policies that implement Islamic standards from upstream to downstream sectors. Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) as socio-economic entities play an important role in the value chain of the halal ecosystem. Dumai City, known as the “City of Dreams,” has been declared a halal industrial zone. However, the city faces five major challenges: drug abuse, promiscuity, HIV/AIDS, LGBT issues, and the spread of heretical teachings. These challenges contradict the vision of establishing a halal city. This study aims to analyze the efforts and roles of pesantren business units as drivers of the halal ecosystem capable of creating social change and influencing community behavior. Using a descriptive qualitative method involving three pesantren in Dumai City, the findings indicate that pesantren can serve as exemplary institutions in applying Islamic values to economic practices through the principles of honesty, justice, balance, trustworthiness, and the avoidance of riba(usury). Interviews also revealed that pesantren administrators instill four main principles in managing economic activities—honesty, trustworthiness (amanah), public benefit (maslahah), and freedom from riba. In conclusion, pesantren can serve as role models for the community in integrating Islamic values into economic activities and implementing sharia principles in everyday life.
