Abstract

The development of Internet technology with social networking hasformed a new society in a virtual form called Cyber Society. In addition toproviding for the good of human life, the impact of this discovery alsoaffects the dark side of human life. Social problems in the real world werealso penetrated into this virtual world. One of the social problems in thereal world that are emerging in the cyber-society is prostitution (cyberProstitution). The problem of prostitution into the real dark side of society,are now beginning to shift to the cyber society. Prostitution itself in the realworld are categorized as immoral act. The practice of prostitution in thereal world, being blocked by the system of values and norms in society. Butin cyber space which is an anarchist society without social control,prostitution can take place freely.Keywords: Cyber Prostitution, Social Problems, Virtual Spaces.

Abstract

Komunikasi akan berjalan baik seandainya semua orang yang terlibat di dalamnya saling kerja sama dengan memberikan informasi yang relevan, sesuai yang diinginkan dan dengan cara yang tepat. Namun banyak orang yang melanggar prinsip kerja sama tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama dan alasan yang melatarbelakangi dalam diskusi yang dilakukan oleh para anggota grup Facebook Merpati Pos Indonesia (MPI). Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan melakukan langkah-langkah berikut: membaca komentar pada Facebook MPI, mengidentifikasi komentar yang berpotensi sebagai data penelitian, dan menulis ulang dalam catatan lapangan. Ada beberapa prosedur untuk menganalisis data: menyeleksi data, menampilkan data, mengelompokkan data, membuat interpretasi dan membuat kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada empat jenis pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama dalam diskusi di MPI: pelanggaran maksim kuantitas, kualitas, relevansi, dan cara. Faktor yang menyebabkan pelanggaran tersebut adalah partisipan, latar, and genre.

Abstract

Ethnic Chinese are spread throughout the world, including in Indonesia. They have long been part of the diversity of the Indonesian nation, even before independence. The presence of the Chinese community in Indonesia has been integrated significantly and is considered an integral part of the identity of the Indonesian nation. The aim of this research is to find out how ethnic Chinese are stereotyped in the film Ngenest: Sometimes Life Needs to be Laughed at and to find the meaning and signs used by the film Ngenest: Sometimes Life Needs to be Laughed at in presenting Chinese ethnicity. The approach used is communication sociology with the theory used to solve this research is semiotic theory. The object of the research is the film Ngenest: Sometimes Life Needs to be Laughed at, which is an Indonesian film produced and broadcast in 2015 with a duration of 95 minutes. The method used in this research is a qualitative method using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis technique. The results of the research show that there are several scenes depicting Chinese ethnic stereotypes in the film Ngenest: Sometimes Life Needs to be Laughed At. The character Ernest in this film is depicted as a character who often experiences unpleasant treatment or bullying in his environment. There are scenes where Ernest is clearly called derogatory names such as "Chinese", reflecting the differences in cultural background between Ernest and those around him. This film also breaks the stereotype that exists in society, that ethnic Tinghoa/Chinese descendants are deceitful, stingy and want to win for themselves. The Chinese ethnicity in this film is described by Ernest Prakasa that not all Chinese descendants have the same characteristics as society's perception of Chinese descendants.

Abstract

Religious fundamentalism that leads to the action of religious radicalism becomes a common event that must be prevented. The religion which should be the source of love, peace, and salvation in human life is used as an instrument of abomination. This can be seen from the recent events of global terrorism acts today. This research has a theme about the role of Pesantren Nurul Ummah in preventing religious fundamentalism-radicalism which is a form of acts of terrorism. The purpose of this research is to know how the role of Pesantren Nurul Ummah in preventing religious fundamentalism-radicalism in the form of acts of terrorism. This research was conducted on foreign students at Pesantren Nurul Ummah, Kembang Belor, Pacet, and Mojokerto. The method used is qualitative The theory used is the Social Construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann. Data were collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews. The validity of the data was done by using triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the root problem of religious fundamentalism that led to the action of religious radicalism, can be seen from the aspect of a shallow religious understanding. The teachings of Islam contained in the Qur’an and Hadith in their understanding are not adapted to the social context. The role of pesantren in preventing religious fundamentalism radicalism, namely by playing the three functions. Among other religious functions, by giving an understanding of the text of the Qur’an and Hadith by its context, which is called asbab al-nuzul or asbab al-wurud. Then the function of education is by inculcating social values, such as the value of nationalism and pluralism. And the last is the social function, namely to equip students with social activities related to society.

Abstract

This article provides an overview of the development of MSMEs in Mojosarirejo Village, Kemlagi District, Mojokerto Regency with digital marketing training. The training that has been carried out above shows that many people have great potential for economic empowerment in the MSME sector. However, the era of cyber society that demands digitalization in the online buying and selling process makes MSMEs not develop. This is due to the lack of adaptation of society to technological developments. This is what makes the author and team conduct digital marketing training for people who are still not adaptive to the development of information technology in the business process. Namely, people in Mojosarirejo Village still market MSME products offline or in their respective places, while the geographical location of Mojosarirejo Village which is far from the crowd makes people's income less than optimal. Based on the results of community service in Mojosarirejo Village, Kemlagi District, Mojokerto Regency with the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, the results of the service 1) Implementation of digital marketing training for MSME actors in Mojosarirejo Village, namely digital marketing strategies, from SEO to paid advertising, and digital marketing techniques, with a primary focus on the use of Google Ads. This platform allows MSME actors to target the right audience with relevant messages, thereby helping to increase sales and brand awareness. 2) providing material related to the ethics of communicating with consumers. Such as knowing the types of consumers, the importance of the seller's brand image, verbal and non-verbal communication in business, consumer service ethics, and increasing consumer trust. This is a supporter of digital marketing training which must be supported by communication ethics in carrying out online buying and selling activities.

Abstract

Ideologi takfiri sebagai pondasi dari aksi terorisme senantiasa meresahkan dan mengundang keprihatinan dari banyak pihak. Ideologi ini tidak pernah mati. Mereka bergerak secara senyap untuk menyebarkan dan merekrut anggota baru, terutma di era new media. Basis ideologi mereka didasari pada teks-teks suci al-Qur’an yang berisi pesan jihad-pesan nasioanalisme. Yang menjadi incaran mereka adalah pada mahasiswa kampus negeri umum yang salah satunya adalah Universitas Airlangga. Tujuan dilakukannya pengabdian ini adalah untuk melakukan penguatan moderasi beragama melalui literasi ayat-ayat jihad dan ayat-ayat nasionalisme  bagi unit kegiatan mahasiswa kerohanian Islam Universitas Airlangga Surabaya. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode problem besed service learning. Metode ini diterapkan sebagai upaya untuk memberikan problem-solving bagi mitra komunitas. Dalam penerapannya tim pengabdi melakukan worshop dengan tiga kali kegiatan dihadiri oleh tiga puluh orang dari mitra komunitas melalui beberapa tahapan pengabdian, diantaranya perencanaan, pelaksanaan, refleksi, dan evaluasi. Hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1). Penguatan moderasi beragama melalui literasi ayat-ayat jihad dan ayat-ayat nasionalisme bagi unit kegiatan mahasiswa kerohanian Islam Universitas Airlangga dapat menjadi modal dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan beragama yang ditunjukkan dengan komitmen kebangsaan, memiliki sikap toleransi dan menerima terhadap tradisi lokal. 2). Wujud aktualisasi sikap moderat unit kegiatan mahasiswa kerohanian Islam Universitas Airlangga ditransformasikan ke dalam dunia digital dengan menciptakan ruang sosial yang inklusif dan saling menghargai. 3). Kerja sama yang baik antara pelaku service learning dengan mitra komunitas dapat melahirkan sinergi antara wacana pengetahuan dan realitas ditengah kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara dengan meng-implementasikan ayat-ayat jihad dan ayat-ayat nasionalisme secara tepat dan benar.

Abstract

In the context of teacher professionalism, the ability to effectively integrate technology into teaching practices is now part of the basic competencies that must be possessed. One of the conceptual frameworks that are widely used to measure and assess this competency is Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK). Therefore, this study aims to (1) describe how in-service English teachers integrate technology into their EFL teaching, and (2) explain the perceptions of these teachers regarding their TPACK competency. The research is a mixed-method study that combines quantitative and qualitative data collection using observation and questionnaires. Thirty teachers consisting 11 male and 19 female involved in this study.  The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive analyses, while the qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis by presenting themes and codes.  The finding of the study shows that in-service English teachers have "good" competence of TPACK as shown in the mean of the questionnaire result is 3.94 which belongs to the good category. Among 7 TPACK categories, TPK is the highest with the mean 4.14, on the other hand, PCK is the lowest with a mean 2.94. There are 16 types of ICT integrated in their lesson. PPT, blog, Pinterest, and YouTube are mostly used their English lesson with 100% on the other hand, Link Tree and Elsa Speak is the lowest used. Overall, these findings underscore the importance of further training that focuses not only on the use of technology, but also on how it can be effectively linked to content and pedagogical approaches in the context of English language learning.
